The downside of demonizing Ron is that people forget that he was Haleigh's dad and by all accounts loved her. That is not incompatible with denial and wishful thinking, particularly with drug abusers.

He was dealing drugs while his daughter is missing/dead somewhere?
He was dealing drugs while his daughter is missing/dead somewhere and had his son in the car at one point during one of the transactions from the way Misty made it sound. They had to pick up Jr. from daycare before they could make their next sale.
He was using drugs while his daughter is missing/dead somewhere.
He was avoiding LE when they were trying to get info regarding his daughters disappearance investigation.
He married the last person to "so called be with his Daughter", which at this point I question if it was really Misty to last see Haleigh.
He interfered with a missing child "His child, Investigation".
He held back the info regarding his "Daughter that LE said is Dead" as a pawn for a lighter sentence for over 18 months.

Respectfully snipped both quoted posts.

That's not love. Ron Cummings has been totally selfish since the day his daughter disappeared. This list above is only but a mere FRACTION of his despicable actions in this case. Love? Not a chance, IMO.

Who exactly agreed to this deal? Do we have a name? Was it the DA or states attorney?

Notice the big smile on Ronald's face in the NewsJax article/video? :furious:
What the heck does he have to smile about? His daughter is missing/dead!

Prosecutors agreed to drop two of the five cases against Cummings, and he entered a guilty plea in the other three. http://www.thesky973.com/pages/7956251.php

Haleigh's Dad Pleads To Drug Charges
Father Of Missing Girl Faces Up To 90 Years In Prison

UPDATED: 4:21 pm EDT August 20, 2010 http://www.news4jax.com/news/24700021/detail.html
Video Report/CS speaks out: Cummings Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges http://www.news4jax.com/video/24702620/index.html

PALATKA, Fla. -- Ronald Cummings pleaded guilty to 3 of 5 drug trafficking charges in exchange for him agreeing to testify in any future criminal trial involving the disappearance of his daughter Haleigh Cummings.

Schumaker, said that that Ronald isn't buying Misty or Tommy's account of Haleigh's disappearance.

Terry Schumaker said, that if Haleigh's body is never found and police are able to make an arrest, testimony may be basis of a criminal prosecution.

He said Ronalds' relationships with each party is important in developing a timeline leading up to Haleigh's disappearance, they could ask him to come back and testify on the state's behalf.

Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, attended Friday's hearing, said she is holding out hope her daughter Haleigh is alive.

"I don't care if they're in prison or not, but the truth needs to come out to bring my baby home."

I have a difficult time wrapping my head around anyone deliberately murdering Haleigh. I think the stories of sexual assault, gun substitution, rampaging madman are just frantic attempts to avoid the truth. I think Haleigh died by accident and the desperate cover up began.
If we cannot agree on what happened to Haleigh and who is to be believed, how can those so emotionally involved make that decision?:waitasec:

No argument out of me over that being the case, however that doesn't negate the fact Crystal and her family have spent eighteen months in a living HELL because Ronald Cummings, Teresa Neves, Annette Sykes, Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin, Jo Overstreet and God knows who else knew what had happened and did absolutely nothing to attempt to ease Crystal's pain...JMHOOTS

This plea deal is not special treatment given to Ron Cummings. This is the norm rather than abnormal. Most cases end in pleas and many time the defendant will be willing to testify in another case so that the Judge can consider that when the person is sentenced.

IMO, the DA would never accept this deal if he did not already know what the defendant is going to testify to at a possible murder trial. The DA sees the cards before he decides if he wants to accept or not.

That tells me Ron Cummings HAS told the investigators and the DA things that they know would be helpful to Haleigh's case.

Even though I have disdain for people who sell or use drugs illegally, I thought the possible sentences in this case were way too harsh for a $3300 sell. We have pedophiles, murderers, and rapists set back out on the streets in much less time.

I continue to believe that Ron Cummings had nothing to do with the disappearance of his little girl.

I also believe in times of traumatic events we can see the best in a person and we can see the worst. Some are strong and will rise to the occasion. Others will succumb and spiral down and do the stupidest of things. Not everyone is alike.

IMO

Having lived there, do you think LE and the courts are corrupt? That would certainly put an interesting spin on things.

I don't live there, never have but I'll step forward and say...YES, I firmly believe there is a Good Ole Boy system in place down there...

One does wrong and the others have to cover it up and go along with it because they are up to their eyeballs in their own dirt. Last thing any of them want is secrets, lies and corruption revealed...JMHO..

well...Ron was with Misty, married her, lived with her, sold dope with her, but he had to go to jail to get information? from outsiders? about HIS timeline? so much for keeping his enemies close. I guess Misty was confiding to townspeople, but not to him? & he never bothered asking around? wow. I guess Shoemaker thinks we all have the mentalities of 6th grade dropouts? just wow. I keep hearing one good story after another, & they're all about Coverin' their own you know whats.

Ronald made a deal on his dead child's body... :furious:

That is about as horrible and dispicable as anything can get.

Besides selling out your grand daughter for blood money.
....but I digress....

IMO :cow:

The thing is what drug traffickers are caught with is only the tip of the iceburg. Does anyone really believe that was Ron's first venture into drug dealing and he just happened to know where to get anything the UC wanted? Think of all the ruined lives by those who are dealing a handful of pills here and a handful of pills there. Some of those will never have a normal or decent life and their families lives are in shambles as well.

I think many did suggest it could be an accident ( long ago) I know I speculated that she got ahold of Ron's drugs or a needle since Misty told her dad Ron used the needle. At this point though, I don't care if it was an accident or not. Anyone that could lie and or get rid of a body to protect this person deserves nothing kinder than hell.

Which reminds me of what Chelsea said on NG about her knowing for a fact that Ron's had "pills laying around the house" and maybe Haleigh OD'd. I always wondered why she would even bring that up.

That photo irritates me. It's like he's looking at someone going "See did I do good?"

Who had the eye bleach last?

I did. Sorry I kept it so long.

I have a question that has been bothering me. Ok, Misty has a tat of Ronald right? Does he have one of her?

And how would he get time taken off for spilling anything about HaLeigh? He should get more time. In a stockade. moo

Most parents who love their children, would never allow a teenage druggie to care for them while they went to work. I blame, Ron for allowing this to happen. He made the choice to bring these low lives into his children's life. I Wish he could be charged with child endangerment that contributed to the death of his child, for making that choice and get life for that alone and whoever killed, Haleigh ( if she is in fact dead) get the DP.

I general, Yes.

But, funny thing that night. TN was supposed to babysit. SHE asked Misty to babysit.

So we're told and I hold as much to that as I do dead squirrels crawling anyplace.:banghead:

Pictures from today, 9 of them. Crystal in picture number 2 looks like she wanted to go get someone. Can't say I'd blame her.

awhile back, I posted that I wish Misty would come clean, (if she's guilty), confess to every thing, plead guilty, get whatever deal she can, & take this bargaining chip away from Ron. Because when it's all said & done, he doesn't deserve it. If he's set to testify against her , then LE's gonna ger her anyway. If this is the case, I wonder why her lawyer didn't set her straight. I sure wish he had, because she's still gonna be a loser, & the only winner is Ron & there shouldn't be a winner out of this bunch. If she's gonna go down, & it looks like she is, then why let Ron benefit from that? IMO, he owes taxpayers a lot of money for the drug sting, the searches, everything. Maybe they can calculate what they each owe, & factor the amounts into their fines.

It's my understanding that any testimony Ron Cummins gives on the stand concerning his daughter's fate would not be a lot of YaDa, YaDa.

His account will have to have something behind it to prove that what he is saying really happened. His testimony will have to pass the test of truth, be reasonable and reliable.

For sure, LE will hear, check out and put to the test, anything he has to offer before he raises his hand and sits in the witness chair.

Can he do that?

I think the information that Mr Cummings found out in jail might have been about other drug dealers or makers. Perhaps it was two different things...testimony in Haleigh's case and info learned in jail. Just a thought.

Off topic but when is his sentencing date please? I don't frequent this subforum often, just when something significant is happening surrounding Haleigh. TIA for letting me know.

Also if you happen to know what's the minimum now? thanks!

I agree on Ms Croslin and Mr T Croslin not teling the truth since both their stories have changed. That is a fact, verified by their lawyers. As for the others you have named, I have no idea what they have told LE.

IMHO... He will lie to cover his rear and LE will accept it as GOSPEL..
And thus far there hasn't been anything revealed to make me think differently..
Just a bunch of LIES and CYA's out of everyone...Including LE in Putnam County...JMHO

Boy, she sure looks angry and no I don't blame her but I would LOVE to know the backstory to this picture. Just who was her anger directed at? Poor thing....what a life she has endured of late. But thank GOD that Junior is no longer in PC. That gives me a little bit of solace.
