There are so many great speculations going on here..some ring true to myself but some dont. I for one just cant fathom how daddy wouldnt know his child was missing?? I have to believe that fire went down after they "Dumped" things...so yepper..I have to agree these two were partners of this crime...It's always what goes on AFTER that sheds light on what really happened..

They can spin all they want..but and thats a big BUT..IF Zahra was found deceased, WHY NOT call 911 then?..why dismember her?, why dump her remains?, why bury her?, why dump mattress?? Why have a FIRE?? why create such drama?? Point is..THEY WERE HIDING SOMETHING!! and Yepper....They BOTH are equally culpible..I do hope and pray LE can connect all the dots!! These two people NEED to be held accountable for Zahra!!!!!

Theoretically they could have decided after the death (neglect/injury) that there might be some money to be made by making her appear as kidnapped. There was a million dollar ransom note.
Not a theory I believe, but possible.

My Internet connection is particularly slow at the moment (we're on shaping, thanks kids ... we really need 5GB of music).

Are there any members kind enough to list some 'dot points' from the show?

there are always kind members who do there best to transcribe and post the various talking points. I am sure there will be a thread in Zahra's forum tonite as there usually is. Just watch for the show thread for todays date. HTH

Looks like the main story will be on Nancy Grace ... maybe a new thread?

*raises hand*

Haleigh Cummings. And I may never get closure on that case. That's the worst, imo...not even being able to give them a small measure of dignity and peace in death.

The police ruled out the hits on the wood chipper.

Earlier this week, a K-9 unit alerted police to a wood chipper on the property. A K-9 unit dog handler told Channel 9 that the hit was not on the wood chipper itself but the engine, and the blood could have come from a cut on a worker’s hand.

K9 crews indicated earlier in the week that traces of human remains were found on wood processing equipment in an area where Baker's father once worked, but detectives with the Burke County Sheriff's Office said that is no longer a solid lead.

bolded by me...

IMO...Altho the police ....SAY...they rule out stuff...doesn't always mean ..that is true...

Sometimes they do not want to acknowledge what evidence they know/feel/suspect is related to a crime...

Sometimes they do not want the public to know...Sometimes they do..but sometimes they don't...UNTIL their investigation..eliminates an item..that they have tested throughly to include it or eliminate it...

I have found that the police can make such statements...according to their own purpose...

IMO...I lean towards the chipper...WAS USED...on Z...
My reason....It would be easier/quicker...to destroy bones for dumping..(so sorry for describing) as less of a "load"..then mixed with wood chips and dirt..then buried in a hole...I could be "way off" on this theory...and probably am...but it could be possible....IF SO....SICK SICK and then SICKER...(again I apologize for graphic)..all in my own opinion...

Yes it is! And tonight it's especially nice to see that, isn't it? So the gals at state prison will be waiting with their own form of justice for EB!
I've always heard that prisoners don't care much for child killers. Guess tha's true.
Looks like EB will have more to worry about than if she's looking super cool and goth!

I cannot get past the cut marks on the bone found at Christy. That will interfere with my sleep tonite I can tell you.

"We have recovered enough physical evidence to believe we have found Zahra," police Chief Tom Adkins said in an emotional press conference, that he said he did "with great regret." (Read the full text of the chief's remarks)

Police said the said the bone found last week off of Christie Road "matches DNA found from the house at 21st Avenue Northwest," which is where Zahra lived before going missing on Oct. 9. A police source also told WBTV's Steve Ohnesorge that "the bone has evidence of cut marks on it."

Mine was Caylee! When they announced they had found her with duct tape across her face and then the outline of a heart on it, it was so hard for me. And then, there was Adji and Haleigh right behind Caylee's discovery.

Where these bones were don't you think?
Seriously, to just find a few boned and her prostetic leg all miles apart from each other?
I think the odds are too much for that to happen without direction from someone who knew. Question is who told them?

I feel so sad for this poor girl. Thanks to all that have updated about her. I have not been able to be on much the past few weeks.

I just cannot wrap my head around how anyone can harm a child, especially their own. It seems to be happening a lot more often with children missing and never found.

I think if the dad did not want Zahra or he know the wife was mean to her, why not just send her home to her mom. know this may sound cruel, but I really hope this poor girl just passed away on her own and not at the hands of her so called parents. The thought of her knowing just breaks my heart. The woodchipper thing just really makes me sick.

I cannot understand it. I have grandchildren and I cannot imagine them being missing or harmed in such a way. Prayers to Zahra's mom and her other family along with everyone working to bring her home. RIP Zahra.

The thing is, there is no direct quote on there from LE. So I am going to say it again, I do not think we can rule the woodchipper out. I firmly believe it was used for something in this crime. I also think that this crime is so horrendous, LE is trying to keep the details out of the public right now. Adam is still walking around and if they just come out and say, yeah, they dismembered her and put part of her in a woodchipper, they would have to worry about his safety.

I'm not yet ready to let go of the possibility that a wood chipper may have been at least attempted to be used for something, either.

SNIPPED:

District Attorney James Gaither Jr. refused to say if the girl was dismembered or if any more charges were imminent.

“I’m not going to discuss that right now,” Gaither said.

Why oh why hasn't AB been arrested?!?!?

I am at a loss for words. And I am taking a leap of faith that LE is "on it" and not giving him a very good deal. KWIM?

Rest in peace princess. Fly with the angels. You're safe now.

I think before any arrests are made, there has to be evidence of who did what, when it was done, and who covered for whom, to make appropriate charges that STICK.

I can wait.

I totally agree with you, Teh. Until I hear LE say that the woodchipper hit was an error, I have to assume it means something. They sifted through mulch piles for a reason. And AB made too much reference to "yard equiptment" in 911 call. Like you, I'm inclined to believe that something that had come into contact with a deceased body went into that horrendous thing, what that is, I have no idea. But my thinking is that it was probably something wooden, something that whoever did this assumed wouldn't stand out from mulch. Crutches? Headboard? Something used in clean-up?

ITA to an extent. Here's my thoughts: the clothes they wore went through the chipper. AB took them to work (site with the big chipper - where mulch piles had already been distributed to customers). While he readied the chipper - he laid the clothes over the engine compartment (hence the dog hits) and then turned it on and ran them through. Could have been sheets, towels whatever else they used as well.

I honestly need to go back and review the woodchipper/work search facts. It seems like that was ages ago, and I'm not sure I'm on solid ground about all that. If you have any links you want to share with me regarding all that, they'd be appreciated, Owl. If not, no biggie...I can go back and try to find links later tonight when I have time. In any event, I think I need to go back and review the earliest stages of this case. There have been so many recent facts that have come out, that I've never had time to go back and try to fit them into the "big picture".

ETA: One such example: 2 WSers have said that AB was at many of the earliest searches. I have no recollection of that what-so-ever. The house search, yes. But he really couldn't have gotten out of that search, could he? To my knowledge, he was never at the work search or the landfill search, but both of these WSers said he was (though, they have yet to provide verifying links when asked to do so).

I think this makes so much sense. I have had trouble with the wood chipper since day one - I only see someone seriously deranged able to put a child in a chipper and while I believe AB is involved, I don't see him as certifiable.

The "pieces" LE picked up around the yard, if they had been "pieces of Zahra" LE would have sealed off the area and put up blockades to prevent folks from watching and photographing. Fabric, fibers yep I believe.
