2011.01.04 Defense Motion to Suppress Casey's Statements to LE

I'm so glad that Judge Perry ruled the way he did. I felt the need for the jury to hear the defendants own emotionless, lying and conniving voice.

Just think....ICA probably has carpal tunnel syndrome from all that scribbling and for what. Oh yeah to look uninterested when the "embarrassing details of her lies" were brought up.

A quick OT... I assume Casey will be at the Frye hearings next week?

Hope she's icing that writing hand. :)

Great point. Instead of this experience turning her into a truthful, god-fearing woman she'll probably dig in even further and become even more dishonest, bitter and hateful. Filled with vengeance.

Some folks would use this as a lesson to learn, repent and grow. I don't think Cindy is one of them.

The poor baby Caylee. It is hard to imagine her ever being loved. I don't think she was. All it took was 72 hours for the entire family to practically disown her. That's some kinda love huh.

Here's what troubles me. The time the Anthony's wasted after picking up the car in the early? afternoon and not calling LE for hours after smelling that "damn car". If they ever loved Caylee at all I'd like to know when it was. I know someone else could explain what I'm trying to say.

So even though my :crystalball: was broken as to the Universal statement lol (and I will be keeping my fingers crossed on appeal), I just want to say I am SO looking forward to the jury getting to hear the Universal audio recording. :)

You and me both AZ!!!!

It's one thing to read transcripts of it. But hearing Casey speak during that interview sends chills up my spine. Literally. Her cold demeanor speaks volumes. And I imagine it will have the same effect on the jury.

Oh and I also can't wait for them to hear her first phone call home to get what's most important to her- Tony's number, not her precious daughter.

Well, remember, they may not use it if they ultimately feel they don't need too, and are still a little worried about an appeal. :nerves:

True. That would take a great deal of restraint, however. In their place I'm not sure I could muster it. ;)

Aw, your crystal ball was not broken, I thought you had very valid and cogent reasons for your opinion, I just hoped you were wrong. :) About the Universal recording - me too, me too!

I agree. You had me skeered and I'm very grateful that you were not the one in that courtroom arguing this.

BBM. Good point.

I'm of the opinion this entire family either
a) lacks a spine to do the right thing
b) does not have the capacity to truly unconditionally love another human being
c) is as about a close to an entirely sociopathic family as you can get
or
d) a little of all of the above

I've always thought that some of the Anthony family members might have deeply cared for Caylee but that their feelings for her never reached the level of complete unconditional love that one should have for their child or grandchild.

The only person that might, and I emphasize might, have a conscience is Lee. My only reasoning is that to repeatedly lie and cover for Casey knowing that deep in your heart she willfully murdered an innocent child SHOULD tug at your conscience and it should at some point reflect on your outward appearance. Looking at the Anthony family it appears the only singular family member to have a drastic appearance change is Lee. He looks as though he isn't getting th sleep he needs at night. He looks like his conscience is eating at him.

IMO Caylee might have been cared about, but I don't believe she was ever truly unconditionally loved. For the most part she was a pawn in the games between her mother and grandmother. To Casey she was a dress up doll. If Cindy truly unconditionally loved Caylee we would have heard that 911 tape being taped much earlier in the day. Cindy never would have gone to work after picking up the car. Cindy only made that phone call on a impulse. If she had some more time to think about it she never would have called. And Casey knew that, which is why she was begging her Mom to give her one more day.

I was with you too on the universal statement but so hoped the court would surprise me and he did! I felt the ruling was well thought out, concise and logical. And I really trust this judge. He knows what he's doing. I really doubt it will not be held up on appeal. I'm so stoked!!!!!!

Cindy admitting that fact that she never would of called LE and the fact that she has been scrambling since she called them just shows exactly what kind of person she is....it's sickening...it's obvious how her daughter turned out to be the 🤬🤬🤬 she is and IMO Cindy and George are just as BAD as the murderer!!

Cindy, George, KC meet KARMA!!!!

RIP Caylee :heartbeat:

I can't wait to see KC's visitor log for today. Knowing JB [thinking of a work that starts with P ends in Y], he sent MM to tell ICA that HHJP just thwarted her birthday present.

Patsy? No wait...Pansy? Oh, I got it...Persnickity!

But but but AZLawyer - didn't you just love my favorite part? And I quote our fine Judge HHJP :

"A reasonable person would also certainly prefer this discussion with the police which included the embarrassing details of the Defendant's lies, to take place away from the prying eyes of the public."

He was of course speaking of the door closed but not locked for privacy reasons during the conversation at Universal Studios.

My very very favorite! :floorlaugh:

I think that the prosecution will definitely use the universal statement, especially if the defense brings up that ridiculous Zanny knocked me down at Blanchard Park and gave me a script to follow & that's why I lied scenario. At Universal KC kept changing her prior statements based on the evidence she was confronted with--not exactly someone following a script. For example, originally she told LE that she dropped Caylee off at the apartment and showed them whose bedrooms were located wherever in the apartment. Then when they told her the apartment was vacant since March she started saying she dropped her off at the bottom of the steps. I so wish I was trying this case--I would have a field day with these clowns!

It troubles all of us. I don't know how far Cindy would have gotten by reporting Caylee missing after say, the first few days she didn't talk to her, but at least there would have been a report of Caylee being missing... a complaint would be a better word.

We all know Cindy has no problems lying to LE or anyone for that matter so why she didn't think to report both Casey and Caylee missing (or her car stolen... or her monies stolen) before 31 days is beyond me. LE would have found Casey... and cleared her as missing or arrested her for the theft, but they certainly would have had questions about Caylee... and maybe they would have taken her word about Caylee being with the nanny... but maybe they wouldn't have? Maybe they would want to be taken to Caylee and check on her well being... maybe they would have asked where Caylee was since Casey was being arrested? I would have at least been better than waiting 31 days to do anything! I don't understand why it took smelling Casey's trunk that smelled like a "damn dead body" for them to try and do something to find Caylee? I really don't understand?

I will never understand this family. I think the only thing that we can be thankful for is excited utterances... because if Cindy had time to calm down... she would not have called LE.

Yep, does not compute does it?. :waitasec:

Cindy "Precious Hours" Anthony's priority is to febreze the trunk and wash a pair of pants. And ex :cop: George "Amber Alert, You opened the door" Anthony takes out the battery, then goes back to work, presumably where he did some more "bragging" about his grandaughter to his brand new shiny HR Manager. ;)

Prosecution in the Phil Spector trial didn't use his statements after fighting to get them included - made rather a mess of the defense opening statement.

So perhaps it is not a forgone conclusion that they will be used
