There is a legal convention during that time period when several experts will be either speaking or attending. Clearly Baez was trying to catch them all together and get some kind of agreement or comments from them since an actual report appears beyond his ability.

Thanks so much logicalgirl! So is Baez still taking time off for this convention?

That's hard to do with all that endless endless whining from Baez - he got several extensions for expert testimony - but my mind is almost shutting down after enduring almost an hour and a half of that. Brutally painful to listen to! Consider yourself lucky you missed it. Seriously!

I disagree, the smackdown and lectures from HHJBP to JB were awesome. Also, JB trying to lecture HHJBP on his job was priceless. JMO

I wonder if he is because he did not get the extensions he was asking about - his new deadlines are well before it - so maybe not.

I have a feeling this meeting Baez is talking about is in his mind only. They probably signed off their email with "see you at the convention" to just get away from him.

Yes, I did catch that! Baez called it an "unique opportunity". :innocent:

JA exposed that it was at a convention, IIRC.

so wait, if the judge calls the lab and the lab says, no he has never tried to contact us in anyway. Does that mean that baez lied in court in front of the judge?? can that get him in more trouble??

Rather than catch JB in YAL (yet another lie) I think that HHJP would rather just move this along and remove JB's excuses ... so he gets to trial. HHJP is trying to facilitate and get things done so the trial can proceed as planned ... JB's come uppance can come later from many sources -- including JAC.

JB has a target on his back and many who want to shoot him once he fails ... including ICA and the A's.

So folks I'm a little concerned about LDB's demeanor today. I didn't like her facial expressions throughout the conference.

She seemed very sullen when they came out of the closed chambers meeting before the open conference took place.

Thoughts?

Yes, agree - there were some glory moments in there - for sure. It is Baez chasing his tail over and over again I really find extremely difficult.

I keep hoping HHJP will lean over the bench, look at Baez and say ZIP IT JOSE!

OK, what about this scenario? JB's expert witnesses that have not filed reports really don't have anything favorable to his case, but he doesn't want to admit that until absolutely necessary? If he pushes it so far that JP disallows these experts to testify, can he use that fact in an appeal? Wouldn't the appeals court ask for the reports at that time to see if it would have made a difference?

The fact that Mr. Baez is still a practicing lawyer in the state of Florida should be viewed by him as a "unique opportunity" IMOO

Only problem is that most firstyearlawstudentness are better than JB. We have first years in our office now that have never appeared in Court ever before and could mop the floor with him.

Problem is that our associates have been to some amazing schools throughout the country and it didn't take them 8 years to finally get admitted to the bar.

Although even a good school doesn't necessarily mean much to me. I ask my doctors WHERE in their class they graduated. I'm worried I'll get the guy that went to Harvard and graduated last in his class because he was out partying and driving the porcelain bus too much...

This guy is one of the laziest liars I've ever seen in any profession, period. He doesn't even have enough sense to be embarrassed by his lack of preparation and/or skills, or the fact that it's transparently obvious to everyone else he is such a slacker.

Grrrr!!! I was interrupted and missed 90% of this hearing.

Would someone please post a summary recap of the highlights? Pretty please.

Absolutely, Beach! It went something like this:

JB: "We are still pulling things out of our rear to delay this trial, and will continue to until we no longer can. Oh, and the SA has had 2 1/2 years to do stuff that they have done but we just haven't bothered to look at yet."

JA: "Your Honor? Seriously?"

LDB: "We will continue to do our job."

HHJP: "No more extentions, Mr. Bye-ezzzz! I'm gonna start calling your experts myself! And, thank you, Mr. Ashton, for the tweet sheet!"

The End!

Baez: We are at odds with the Oak Ridge Lab. We will challenge the interpretation of their findings.

Baez:"You can't get a vacuum cleaner and say 'this is a forensic instrument'"

Is this about Baez freaking out about what the lab found in the vacuum cleaner and/or wet/dry vac that CA used to tamper with the evidence in the Pontiac?

Well there's rope and then there's rope. Baez has already had plenty of rope to hang himself. Now the rope is extending to the SA. Even if LDB and JA breaks their backs to do the work in time they're clearly starting to be emotionally and psychologically and maybe even physically impacted. Stress is a killer. I'm DISGUSTED.

Yeah, at times JA looked like he could use some headache meds.

Anyone notice how LDB kept her back turned to Baez? She sure did!ETA:at the very end
imo

I felt that HHJP entrapped JB on the Jury location. He basically walked JB through his own motion, recommendations, demographics research, etc. Although JB was protesting he needed 30 days to 'research', HHJP basically got JB to admit they had already done research to put together the original COV motion.

Gotcha! I am sure that HHJP knows that JB is going to cry foul regardless of the source picked but he is a few steps ahead of JB and is going to play him on this one.

It could be anything, JSR. One of her kids being sick, another case, the pain from digging her nails into her palms to keep from bursting out laughing at JB. I wouldn't read too much into it (hope I'm right).

Wouldn't you be also if you had a full calendar and was forced to sit there for that long listening to same old same old? I would be :maddening: and I think the ongoing extensions would be like fingernails on chalkboard to her also.
