2011.02.14 - SA's high school mate speaks out

Okay, I didn't read all the way through before posting but at SHS, there were the choices of art, photography, drama, choir or band. Photography class was pretty much reserved for the photographers for the HS newspaper and yearbook, so pretty much it was art, drama or music. My daughter took drama, not with SA but she took it with alot of the football guys for the credit for Fine Arts. Her best friend took drama w/ SA, said they didn't do much other than go through the basics of theater and he may have tried to get on production crew but I think attendance was an issue-he would sometimes cut class to go smoke with his guy friend. My daughter said back in HS she didn't smoke pot but knew ALOT of people who did and didn't see it as a big deal-alot of kids "smoked out"-she has asthma and I had put the fear of God in her when she was a child and she was afraid to smoke it!! (Yay) The only reason she and SA weren't friends was because he wanted to go hang out at abandoned houses in the middle of fields, approx 2-3 miles from Gma's in Dunn-and before you ask, yes, she called that in back when the investigation started and was called back about it- haven't heard squat since but she can sleep at night knowing she did the right thing. Anyways, it was SA that ended the friendship-my daughter said his hot-cold thing wasn't her deal and SA wasn't really a guy she would have dated... he was funny and that pretty much was it.

Guess what guys?

I like to wear black, don't really fit in anywhere, identify myself as a loner... and guess what else?

I lurk in these threads quite often. Are you afraid?

This is funny and a very good point. ty :fence:

:seeya: Nope

But if you told me LE has named you a POI in a missing child case, I might not want to have you as a guest in my home.

Surely that has nothing to do with how many friends they have or how they dress, though.

Dressing in black, gothic, and loner reminds me of vampires. Wonder if he was into Vampires back then. They did find articles and printouts in the collections about vampires. BD is too old to have been into Goth or vampire things back in high school or now IMO.

Say what? I knew lots of Goth kids in college, and at that time, Billie would have been about 7. I'd say it was a regional difference except that Damian Echols was referred to as Goth 18 years ago when he was being tried in West Memphis, TX. At that time, Billie would have been 15 or so. So there was definitely a Goth presence in Texas when she was a teen. I seriously doubt she was part of it, but not because of her age.

.
You mean West Memphis, AR, don't cha? Damian Echols was tried in West Memphis, Arkansas.

I think I made that clear ... I based my opinion on the fact LE has named him a POI in a missing child case.

I wrote almost the same thing the other day. I wear black, and lots of my friends wear black, and my daughter has black fingernail polish she wears to . . . Law School.

If that's scary, I apologize.

Also, I raise an eyebrow at SA being called a "loner." A "loner" usually isn't in a long-term relationship with a woman.

I don't think this friend knew SA all that well.

And I think they mean "introvert." Being an introvert isn't a disease, but a personality type, although sometimes extroverts in the world act like it's a crime to not be sociable morning, noon, and night.

There are just as many introverts in the world as extroverts, and like any other personality type, it doesn't make them good or bad.

Considering that SA liked to make videos of himself and liked to talk on message boards about his hobbies, and have parties, I would say he's not even an introvert, but maybe a narcissist who likes to be the center of attention, which is the opposite.

The Unabomber was a loner. And Eric Rudolph - now there was a classic loner.
