It does seem that the media is havinbg difficulty getting the story exactly right:

"KTXS reported Friday, that a computer memory stick with child , as well as more than 100 thousand other graphic images, was taken by officials from Billie's home.
Shawn Adkins, Billie's boyfriend, lived there at the time.
They also collected evidence of from Shawn Adkins mother's home in Big Spring."

It looks like they are saying there were 100,000+ images on the flash drive and "evidence of" more on his mom's computer.
"Evidence of "? Not ACTUAL ? THAT sounds like the images were either in the browser cache or deleted. But they got the flash drive bit wrong, so I am sure I am reading too much into the wording.

Has anyone interviewed SA or mom, over all of this?

First: A big THANK YOU to the searchers for continuing to search for Hailey!

Second: Child is a physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual act of despicable harm against a child, even if that child is not Hailey.

Third: I don't have the stats in front of me right now, but there is a body of evidence that demonstrates that a percentage of those who possess/view child have personally acted out or will act out in a sexually violent manner against children.

Fourth: I don't fault the searcher for not being aware of this fact.

Nevertheless, it's time for public education and for public awareness.

Fifth: A big THANK YOU to Traffic 911 for helping to educate and for bringing awareness of this heinous crime against humanity!

I think that victimizes victims.

If police show up at my house and arrest my spouse for downloading child under his own user name on a shared computer, unbeknownst to me, do you think that while I am busy falling apart at the seams to learn this horrifying information about someone I thought I knew and trusted, they should throw a pair of those handcuffs on me as well? Hell to the no!

Likewise if police come to my home to arrest my teen for marijuana possession, or shoplifting, do you feel that I am equally guilty, in spite of having know knowledge that these activities were occurring?

ETA: I believe that refers to being ignorant of the law you have violated, not being ignorant of criminal activity in your home.

She admitted that SA was the one who brought over the memory stick that was confiscated. I just don't believe that she didn't know what was on said memory stick. She couldn't tell the truth if her life depended on it. MOO.

With the volume of images - over 108,000 - I suspect distribution, and I wouldn't be surprised if LE & the DA are suspecting the same.

According to the Texas Penal Code, if there are 6 or more identical images, that constitutes intent to distribute, and is a 2nd degree felony (whereas possession, I believe, is a 3rd degree felony), as well as possibly a federal crime if the images were distributed/transported across state lines. Since the internet is involved, it's more than likely transport across state lines occurred.

I think investigators will try to bring the maximum charges possible with regards to the . It's likely the FBI has been called in to assist with the investigation.

It's like if the DEA busts someone with a kilo of pot - that person can be charged with drug trafficking, especially if that person also possesses a scale & other paraphernalia. A kilo of pot is not for personal use, no matter how much of a pothead someone might be.

IMO, 108,000+ images of perverse illegal is NOT for personal use. Ugh.

In addition, I believe each image constitutes 1 count. When the number is tallied, there could be charges of 1,000s of counts of illegal possession and/or distribution (depending on how many of those images are child ).

It goes without saying that child is one of the most vile, despicable crimes against humanity.

Yet, there sits Billie with her doe eyes, "in the dark", pretending to not know what all the outrage is about.

BBM and JMO but what you have written is by far one of the very scariest aspects of this case. That this women can not comprehend why people are outraged......
