I just watched a brief snippet of Cindy's testimony...please tell me she didn't actually call the State Prosecutor by her first name?!!!!!!!!!!!!

You heard right RR. Like I said, it took her about 3 questions to pull out "exhausted put-upon hard-done-by yet domineering" mode.

Anyone know how many if any more witnesses for this one motion?

I feel pretty confident they will want to talk to John Allen.

In one of his pleadings last week, Jeff Ashton listed the witnesses the SA expected to call. Can't recall who all he listed off to top of my head. I don't recall seeing anything by the defense. I couldn't get a live feed this afternoon, but didn't the defense call Yuri?

ok friends - I was nearly totally busted by dh as he arrived home before the end of the hearing. Suddenly hear the garage door, So, I had to slam the laptop closed and run into the kitchen and pretend to "do things."

Last 10 minutes and the conversation at the bench? I'll look at it when they post it, but a brief play by play? Anyone? TIA!
LOL, poor gal, tell hubby cause he might think you are chatting with some internet dude. Tell him "I found a new hobby today, the Casey Anthony trial" If he scoffs then say, well it intrest me like a good book. "You have interest too that I don't like."

JB does not want KCs statements (written and spoken) to be allowed as evidence. That is why he is pounding away with the Miranda rights... to have grounds for not including her statements... trying to say they tricked her and got the statements illegally.

Yes, but the problem for Baez is the cops had good reason to interview her. They were looking for a missing child, so all of their questions were in order. So I doubt he will win this round. IMO

Ah yes, but just because George said he said it doesn't mean he actually said it because if we know one thing about George he is a guy who says a lot of things about what he knows and now we have found out he doesn't actually know a lot about a lot of things, he knows a bit and the rest is just sort of filler cause he like the way it sounds. IMO

done for the fans of run on and on sentences....
I'd like to see him produce his "notes".

what if the Judge stated he heard enough and they need to call the rest of their witness and only spend less then 30 minutes on each..then he will rule...or what if Judge said, "I heard enough, I'll rule tomorrow morning"?

So let's dish...was it "fun"?

Baez interviewing Yuri was "fun" because it was so outrageous - I mean I could not believe my ears. I was so glad I could also read other posters opinions because otherwise I would have thought I was imagining it.

Really though I found it quite grueling.

I need to find a way to "practice up" for the actual trial.

Well... what have we all learned today??

Someone is lying about the phone call made to George from Yuri Melich... well, Cindy says it was John Allen who told both herself and George that Casey "might" not be coming home... George states that it was Yuri Melich who called him, while he was driving, and told him that Casey would not be coming home. Yuri states that he remembers no such conversation... at all. Who to believe? Can't wait to hear John Allen's version... something tells me he never said a thing about Casey not coming home. Cindy also stated that she didn't tell Casey that they were taking her that morning because LE told her not to... George states today that he went into Casey's room and woke her up to tell her that detectives were coming to get her and question her some more.

We also learned that Cindy Anthony did demand Casey be arrested (she lied on the stand) and was showing this young officer proof (statements and receipts) that Casey had stolen from her... so the young officer believes that he is going to be taking Casey in for stolen monies... somewhere George came up with the story of demanding to know why they were taking Casey away in handcuffs and the officer told him for child abuse (complete lie!! IMO). Casey was handcuffed for no more than five minutes when the supervising officer had the cuffs removed because they weren't focusing on the stolen monies... there was a missing child that was more important.

I believe that both Cindy and George will be considered hostile witnesses... and I believe, after today, that they will eventually be hauled in for perjury... it was just so blatant today. So blatant! Disgusting.

I'm starting to have some hope that the Universal audio will come in... but I would not be mad if it didn't. I am more than happy with the fact that it looks like Casey's written statement is coming in... and more than likely they interview with Yuri.

I loved when Yuri kept saying that he could not fathom a mother of a missing two-year-old lying about where she worked... it made no sense to him at that time.

Jose was just awful, if you ask me.

JB to Yuri "Why don't you tell me what GA told you" After Yuri already stated he didn't recall and had to referr to GA statement of what was said.

Really JB? I mean trying to make Yuri imcompetent because he didn't recall what GA stated because frankly all Yuri was focused on at the time was finding a little girl. Then to top it off, JB snidely stated the States Case, on record, Heck, if I was SAO I would during trial enter in evidence JB statement. Call him as a witness to repeat what he said.

Agree!! Call George up! Having "studied" George for two years plus, I'm not certain you can take what Yuri read from the interview as being exactly what George said to him the night they were called out. George has a way of bringing things to the present, so him saying "I believe there is something in that car. I hate to say human," does not necessarily reflect what he actually said to Yuri that night. I hope this makes sense.

Yeah, which makes me giggle, because KC vomits the same lies on the 911 tape.

At the end of the day, I don't give a damn if the Universal Q&A or even her written statement gets tossed because KC's lies, in her own voice will be played for a jury of her peers when the 911 tape rolls.

Well...I didn't think it could better, but I just watched a little bit of George's testimony. Why on earth do these people think they can say anything they want...whenever they want...in court?

I think so too, and if they do, it will be because Baez was critically ineffective. He objected to the picture because she was smiling and could have been told a joke just prior. As far as picture #2 (with the visitor badge), he objected, but I didn't hear what his reasoning was beyond that. Maybe ICA didn't like that shot of her - who knows.

Anyway, I'm 60/40 on the evidence being allowed in. (60 for).

MOO
Mel

BBM: I think he said irrelevancy. But maybe that was the first pic... I don't recall. LOL

This hearing was WELL worth the time used to watch it, the best I've seen so far !

There IS going to be justice for Caylee !

I have been addicted to this story ever since it broke. I never read blogs or wrote in forums, throw in my 2 cents worth but this case has me spellbound and speechless.

I cannot believe the amount of time (since July 2008) I have invested in reading news, streaming status hearings, Nancy Gracing, LKL, Casey Anthony 48 Hours Mysteries –the list is endless. But today’s performances made it hugely worthwhile. Some of Baez’s questions to Yuri Melich were breathtaking, literally! If that was my Defense Lawyer, I would have sacked him a long time ago. Why not point out that I’m a liar, a thief, so beneath human kindness as to not just lie, but lie to a police officer who is trying to help you find your child!

Sometimes I think I could have learned a foreign language and I would be fluent by now if I had studied Spanish or French or Mandarin for as long as I have studied this case!

Great day though, looking forward to replay and tomorrow!

Great comments you guys, so many like minded people!

The two of them have spent 3 years distancing themselves from their own statements about the smell of a dead body in the damn car.........now ICA's own atty is saying it over and over and CA is just crawling out of her skin........I really expected CA to stand up and yell "it was a pizza!"

For a moment she did look like she was about to stand up and say something, and then got a hold of her anger.

This is just a preview of what the trial will be like, and I think it's likely that CA (and GA to a lesser extent) will be so angry and upset with the testimony of various witnesses, they're going to end up either having an outburst, or having to leave the courtroom.
