2011.03.02 Motions Hearing - #2 (PM)

Gotta rest and digest all of todays excitement, later I'm coming back to watch it again ! This from a person that almost never watches two movies twice. Not to compare this terrible crime to a movie, but I hope you get my drift.

Yes, she does look heavier, and she's cut her hair and is wearing it in the same style as it was when this case began in July 2008.

She probably wants to make sure everyone recognizes her for the star she thinks she is.

Ah yes, but just because George said he said it doesn't mean he actually said it because if we know one thing about George he is a guy who says a lot of things about what he knows and now we have found out he doesn't actually know a lot about a lot of things, he knows a bit and the rest is just sort of filler cause he like the way it sounds. IMO

I just watched a brief snippet of Cindy's testimony...please tell me she didn't actually call the State Prosecutor by her first name?!!!!!!!!!!!!

I missed both CA and GA's testimony, but I see that the OS has already got a video..................

Well... what have we all learned today??

Someone is lying about the phone call made to George from Yuri Melich... well, Cindy says it was John Allen who told both herself and George that Casey "might" not be coming home... George states that it was Yuri Melich who called him, while he was driving, and told him that Casey would not be coming home. Yuri states that he remembers no such conversation... at all. Who to believe? Can't wait to hear John Allen's version... something tells me he never said a thing about Casey not coming home. Cindy also stated that she didn't tell Casey that they were taking her that morning because LE told her not to... George states today that he went into Casey's room and woke her up to tell her that detectives were coming to get her and question her some more.

We also learned that Cindy Anthony did demand Casey be arrested (she lied on the stand) and was showing this young officer proof (statements and receipts) that Casey had stolen from her... so the young officer believes that he is going to be taking Casey in for stolen monies... somewhere George came up with the story of demanding to know why they were taking Casey away in handcuffs and the officer told him for child abuse (complete lie!! IMO). Casey was handcuffed for no more than five minutes when the supervising officer had the cuffs removed because they weren't focusing on the stolen monies... there was a missing child that was more important.

I believe that both Cindy and George will be considered hostile witnesses... and I believe, after today, that they will eventually be hauled in for perjury... it was just so blatant today. So blatant! Disgusting.

I'm starting to have some hope that the Universal audio will come in... but I would not be mad if it didn't. I am more than happy with the fact that it looks like Casey's written statement is coming in... and more than likely they interview with Yuri.

I loved when Yuri kept saying that he could not fathom a mother of a missing two-year-old lying about where she worked... it made no sense to him at that time.

Jose was just awful, if you ask me.

Don't forget to add that KC :banghead:was SO distraught about her daughter that KC took a nap and smiled for pictures. GAH!

Baez interviewing Yuri was "fun" because it was so outrageous - I mean I could not believe my ears. I was so glad I could also read other posters opinions because otherwise I would have thought I was imagining it.

Really though I found it quite grueling.

I need to find a way to "practice up" for the actual trial.

So the hearing took all day...got to hear HLN in the car...what was the reason LE handcuffed Casey...was it because they were putting her in the police car? I've seen that plenty of times on "Cops"...no joke. They don't need to read Mirandize her to do that.

I feel pretty confident they will want to talk to John Allen.

In one of his pleadings last week, Jeff Ashton listed the witnesses the SA expected to call. Can't recall who all he listed off to top of my head. I don't recall seeing anything by the defense. I couldn't get a live feed this afternoon, but didn't the defense call Yuri?

Oh yes, and he was beautiful to behold, both to look at and his response style. That part with Baez is a must see. 'Beach, you will fall off of your chair - it is outrageous. We could not figure out if Baez had switched to the SA side or not!!!

Yeah I get that impression as well. I tend to take his "law enforcement experience" with a huge grain of salt because, well.. he's a security guard now, yknow? And there's a reason for that (don't know what it is, but IMO it's nothing good.)

ok friends - I was nearly totally busted by dh as he arrived home before the end of the hearing. Suddenly heard the garage door, So, I had to slam the laptop closed and run into the kitchen and pretend to "do things."

Last 10 minutes and the conversation at the bench? I'll look at it when they post it, but a brief play by play? Anyone? TIA!

Thank god for the portability of the laptop... I was able to keep it in the kitchen while I made dinner... So when my H got home and looked at me on the couch watching this and gave me that "realllly heather look" I said heyy... dinners made, shut up!
But he gives me plenty of trouble about my obsession with the case...

what if the Judge stated he heard enough and they need to call the rest of their witness and only spend less then 30 minutes on each..then he will rule...or what if Judge said, "I heard enough, I'll rule tomorrow morning"?

He sure cut off JB lickity split when he objected to the hoodie photo.

Once JB gets his azz kicked by HHJP tomorrow, I think he should consider applying for a new job- with the SA office. He could not have made their job easier if he'd tried. I bet LDB and JA are laughing all the way home.
He gets the Oscar for Doofus of the Year.

RR, the deputy who did it was on the force under a year on that night. He stated that CA approached him with a bunch of receipts and statements and said that KC had been stealing her money, that she was afraid that KC would flee if LE did not take her into custody before they located Caylee, and so he cuffed the accused. His superior quickly advised him that their primary mission was the missing child case, nothing else, so he uncuffed her in 4 or 5 minutes.

It was strikingly apparent how nervous he was and how scared that he had done something to foof up this case. LDB was excellent with him.

Maybe hired on to the SA office as a copy boy...nah he'll get a paper cut and blame it on someone else.

I just watched casey being "escorted" out of the courtroom. Before that she just stood at the table b/w JB and CM waiting for them to talk to her and avoiding CA and GA altogether! And why oh why does she get to leave the room w/o being handcuffed or shackled in any way? She even gets to open the door and walk out first! I can't stand it!

All dogs try to get out the door before their Master.

Can we have a new thread? A thread on a summary of today's hearing, with who testified, what they said (or didn't say), the highlights of the day.

Many here saw the hearing from beginning to end, and many others didn't get to see it all. I'd love to see a summary thread with those who watched the whole thing posting their impressions.
