I've thought about this often.

I could not help the state stick a needle in my child's arm. Reguardless of what he did...... I just couldn't do it.

I suppose I would sit in prison on a contempt charge forever for refusing to....

I hear ya, Linda, I so hear you. I've thought a lot about this as well. IMVHO - her parents are doing her no favors by acting and reacting the way they are. Had they not went into protect Casey mode, we might very well not be seeing all of this.

I believe a good caring parent would accept their child has faults, made mistakes... however, would insist she would have to face what she has done.

Indeed, they are the most self-centered unusual persons I've ever seen.
I wonder if the thought of their grandbaby suffocating, fighting for her life, screaming as best she could with her mouth, nose, and possibly hands duct taped; ever crosses their mind. I know for myself it would be a mental image I would never be able to shake...never!
