Pending rulings remain
Perry was also expected to make decisions on whether scientific evidence about chloroform levels found in Anthony's car trunk and the growth of plant roots in the woods where Caylee's remains were found should be used at her trial.

But those rulings will not be coming today as originally thought. The Orange County Courthouse is closed for Good Friday, so it's uncertain whether Judge Perry will issue any other rulings this week.

Trunk stain evidence admissible.
Perry's ruling means any evidence related to the stain may be admissible during the trial — but prosecutors will still have to show proper presentation and foundation of that evidence.

ORLANDO -- Judge Belvin Perry ruled that the stain found in Casey Anthony's car trunk will be allowed in the trial.

Perry is still expected to hand down other rulings on several motions regarding numerous pieces of key evidence, including air samples, presence of chloroform in the trunk and computer search for "how to make chloroform."

Casey's Friends Testify About Abuse, Car Smell

"Snip" April 21, 2011

The defense filed the depositions of Tony Lazzaro, Anthony's boyfriend in 2008, and Amy Huizenga.

In his deposition, Lazzaro said Anthony told him she'd been abused by her dad.

Around the time of Caylee's disappearance, Lazzaro remembered Casey waking up in a cold sweat and crying, the deposition revealed.
During their relationship he said Casey confided her father George physically abused her.

"Snip" By Adam Longo, Reporter
Last Updated: Thursday, April 21, 2011

ORLANDO -- The case against Casey stirs up deep emotions among people in Central Florida and across the country.

The case makes many people angry. Others are just sick about hearing it.

But some people feel such a connection with the case, they can't stay away.

"I wanna see justice so I can rest my heart for this child," said Robinson.

Robinson isn't looking for justice against Casey Anthony.

In fact, Robinson isn't convinced of her guilt.

It hasn't been decided yet how the general public will get access to the Anthony trial.

Court leaders have discussed a lottery for seating, or passes handed out on a first come first serve basis each day.

This article was updated Thursday, April 21, 2011 8:20 PM to add:

News 13's legal analyst David Fussell calls this ruling a "minor disappointment" for the defense.

"It's not a major upset," Fussell said. "The state still has to meet the burden of the threshold for the evidence to be admitted and that's a bit of a difficult threshold in cases where there's not a lot of science backing the evidence they're trying to introduce."
