I'm at work and just peeking in to see how the trial is going. I feel so horrible for Sheri's mom.

Waterloo, Ill (KSDK) -- Murder suspect Chris Coleman teared up as graphic pictures of Sheri Coleman and her two boys, Gavin and Garrett, were shown in court on Monday morning.

The three victims were found strangled in their beds in May 2009. Chris Coleman is accused of killing them.

Sheri was pictured face down in bed. The picture's of the boys showed their faces and parts of their arms were discolored. There were also spray-painted messages on the boy's beds.

WATERLOO • Monroe County State's attorney Kris Reitz warned the jury of what was coming.

"Be prepared," he said.

Then, Reitz clicked an overhead projector to reveal the images. First, Sheri Coleman, naked in her bed, dead from ligature strangulation.

Soon, a photo flashed up of eleven year-old Garett Coleman, dead while curled up in his bed with traces of red spray paint on his white bed sheets. Then came the lifeless 9 year-old Gavin Coleman, lying face-down with his arms dangling out under white covers with cuss words spray-painted on top in red lettering.

Jason Donjon, a Columbia police officer, described the photos under questioning from Reitz about the murder scene he discovered, along with fellow police officer Justin Barlow.

Angela DeCicco, Sheri Coleman's mother, left the courtroom crying shortly before the images flashed before the jury and the packed courtroom audience. Christopher Coleman had his back to the projection screen, but appeared to sob and tremble as the images were displayed. He mostly refrained from turning around to look at them.

Both Sheri Coleman's family and Chris Coleman's family appeared visibly shaken by the photos.

7 witnesses so far in #colemantrial. Several first responders. Graphic pics of victims. Some family left room, too graphic
Would like to know who left the room.

Also, long hair strands found on youngest sons elbow. #colemantrial

Sheri's hair fell on him from the perp?

Today I'm glad I don't live nearby and would be tempted to go to this trial. I can hardly even read about it, let alone be there!

An earlier report said that Sheri's mom left the room.

This was the latest twitter - apparently some very graphic pictures were shown with LE's testimony. I think her mom had already left - at least I hope so. I'm wondering if any of this has finally made an impact on the Coleman's. And I really think Chris's tears are more about the loss of his new life than regret over losing his family. Maybe I'm jaded, but I find very little to respect in the Coleman family - and I feel soooo horrible for Sheri's family.

When I saw that about the hair on the son's elbow, I wondered if it was from Sheri cuddling him before he went to bed. Heartbreaking.

I keep thinking about the online death notice saying Sheri was "preceded in death" by her sons. I wonder if that will be addressed at trial?

Was she defending her boys and that's how her hair (" long strands") came to be there?

This is truly a wicked crime in the traditional sense of that word.

I think it shows that Sheri was killed 1st-the hair likely came from the perp--doesnt necessarily implicate CC however....and of course it could be nothing, could from Sheri putting him to bed...I do think it will have an effect on the jury though...it had an effect on me when I read it-not sure why though!

Coleman trial finished for the day. God bless the jurors.

Fox2 has a Coleman Trial section of their website with links to all the articles/videos since the beginning of this tragedy. http://www.fox2now.com/news/coleman/. They also have two reporters tweeting from the trial, which is on that page so even if you don't have a twitter account, you can follow it. I'll chime in if the 6 o'clock news has anything new on... missed the 5 o'clock.

As for developments, I'm really glad the local coroner has put the TOD between 3 a.m. - 5 a.m. because that will give Baden even more credibility to the jurors who may be leery of relying on a "Hollywood" type for evidence. I also think the cell phone ping in Dupo will be huge. You have to really be wanting to pass up Columbia to end up several miles north near Dupo.
