Is it normal for employers to pay their employees while they spend 2 months on jury duty! Seems incredible to me.

When I served as a juror I had to turn in my stipend to my employer and they paid me my regular salary. Not unusual.

My own opinion.

My wife is afraid of the dark. OMG

No offense, but this could be caused by very valid reasons. She could have been raped or assaulted, or could be having ongoing anxiety issues. I don't think we should judge her based on the response. And he never said that she was afraid of the dark, but he did state that she was afraid of being alone at nights.

Well, we don't know what trauma the wife might have suffered in the past, which triggered her fear of the dark. Good on the husband to be concerned for her, imo.

ICA she is really irritating me, sitting there on the laptop, asking people questions, if you didn't know better you could be forgiven for thinking she is part of the defense team. Her whole demeanor shows she care's nothing for Caylee. It's like she's not even the one on trial. All just a big game to her.

I actually had the insane hope they might pick a jury today. Now, I don't believe they will even get through the first 110.

I know that CM has every right to question these people but he is going to D~R~A~G this thing out for what seems like forever.

So far (if I counted right) we have had 4 men to 1 woman.

I guess KB was right that the jury consultant is not with them? Wouldn't he be there?

I was thinking the same thing but maybe he won't show up until the questioning becomes much more detailed. (If he's still with "the team")

They were IMO hoping she'd cause a disruption to the trial by needing to leave.

That's what the alternates are for-geez! :banghead: Look how many left/got kicked off OJ's case and there was no big disruption or mis-trial!

Didn't realize until this current juror, that jurors would be using their vacation time if they needed to. What a sacrifice for them to make!

Not really. Perhaps his wife suffered a trauma in the past like rape, robbed, etc, and as a result, she's afraid of being alone at night. We just don't know.

Says it would be a hardship - work related (work only pays for 15 days - has enough vac to pay for 6 weeks but not more). HHJP asks if someone can cover his duties - he answers there are one or 2 other people to cover. Single.

CM no questions - HHJP does not excuse - subject to recall

Rather typical for New England employers! Some employers feel it's wicked cool that their employees live by their civic duties!:rocker:

I would be so mad if I had to use my saved vacation time/money on this case. For her.
