They should keep this juror. Yeah, it is inconvienient... but he can make it work.

When our agency was open, I paid employees full salary, minus court payments, for any time taken off for jury duty. Employees were first required to use all vacation time, then we paid their salary for 'community service'

My wife is afraid of the dark. OMG

SOTS, right after my brother was murdered. I was afraid to get out in public. So much so that I had to seek counseling. A person's mind is a funny thing. After a year of counseling, I am fine now. I still have no clue as to what happened to me , but my counselor was awesome and truly was my life line. Some people have unexplained fears, that others have a hard time understanding. Mine was the fear of randomly being shot. It sounds stupid even as I'm typing this, but it's a real fear that I had to deal with.

IMO this single male really did not sound too interested in serving on this jury. He will be called back tomorrow.

I really like the way HHJP is taking the time to point out and ask pertinent questions about finances. He wants to make sure there are NO distractions for a juror during the trial. Very smart man, but we already knew that. See CM, that's the way to question potential jurors. Not to intimidate them.

My husband would be paid fully for jury duty.

Thanks to all who replied. Having never served on a jury I just assumed you would not be paid. So then anyone without household/care giving obligations would not really have a hardship. It's just these eager beavers that are suspect to me.

Is it normal for employers to pay their employees while they spend 2 months on jury duty! Seems incredible to me.

Well, I was paid for seven and half weeks by my employer but bi...........ed at on a daily basis for serving.

A crisis counselor. Defense probally wont want her. :twocents:

I just thought that it's quite likely this jury turns out to be mostly male - us girls got the kids and parents to care for...

did she just say an Up North trip for ?????

  • #773
This woman is a counselor but says all her patients are in good shape.

She seems able and willing to serve.

I like this potential juror, she is on top of everything, NOTE TO MASON - SHE ALREADY WENT THROUGH HER ALLERGIES. Don't need ask about it.

:truce: WHICH part of "hardship evaluation ONLY" is CM missing.......this primary "screening" is to determine if the prospective juror (JUROR, that is!) will "self-report" a HARDSHIP and as such, said hardship will be evaluated in general by the JUDGE! WITH the SA & Defense gang input!:banghead::banghead:

The in depth questions are suppose to be for the NEXT individual voir dire session.....or at least THAT'S HOW MOST DP/high profile panels are handled!

I understand the obligation to do your civic duty, but I would resent having to use all my 'personal' days off- which are accumulated vacation and sick days, in order to fund my serving on a Jury if my employer did not pay ..

I was waiting for that lady to say she was allergic to BS

TruTV is reporting that the present Juror is an older white woman, in her 70's.

  • #778
Retired. She's a crisis counselor. She could be good for both sides??
