If you are called for jury duty or are subpoenaed, some airlines will allow you to cancel your flight (though they prefer you to reschedule at a later time) and will give you a refund.

Not sure if Jet Blue will do this or not.

is it just me or was Ca looking angry at the pet sitter?

Wait...CA?? CA as in Casey Anthony....or did Cindy show up????

Is it just me or did ICA look like she 'hated' the dog sitter?

I thought the same thing, which is odd that the DT objected to her dismissal. She doesn't strike me as someone that the DT would want anyway.

I'm shocked at the number of people who are saying that their employer does not pay for jury duty.

And I'm simply amazed at the employment rate for this jury pool. Florida must have received more than their share of the Stimilus...............LOL. :floorlaugh:

I think she sees a woman in her 50's like her mother.

#21 - 1324 - woman

wasn't even thinking about cameras

owns own business, would not get paid, only employee - pet sitting business, married - husband works - would be challenging to survive - could not pay expenses if she did not work - could do 2 - 3 weeks just not 2 months

excused for cause (def objects) HHJP excuses indicating most of her salary is during May - Dec. Citizens not asked to do jury service so that it causes financial hardship

To me her worse juror is mothers and older women. Her best is a young single guy. MO

female with a pet-sitting business, sole owner but her husband works, she won't starve but finances would be a challenge because of the length of the trial. she wants to fullfill her jury obligation but the length of the trial is a problem. ICA and CM whispering to each other with covered mouths. she is excused

Last juror was excused for financial hardship. Juror 1244 coming back in (didn't hear why).

Looked like the judges decision made Casey cry.

I am not getting this strategy of objection from DT. Help me out.

ICA was able to survive without an income...possibly she wonders why other 'citizens' can't do the same. ICA would not have the same reasonable understanding that others may have of fiscal responsibility. It appears that her defense is having the same difficulties.

I really think that casey anthony wouldnt exactly like this woman. She likes to take care of her obligations. moo

But CM is objecting to her being excused....! He mumbled something and HHJP shot him down in flames.

Man, Mason is a bull dog!!! Maybe he thinks we should all be able have money in the bank to take 8 weeks off..

I wish these people here at work would realize that I am in jury selection and can not be disturb. LOL

Me too. I thought employers had to pay for jury duty..guess I learn something new every day.

No, employers do not have to pay you for time in jury duty. If you are not working, they do not have to pay you. Legally, they cannot fire you for serving on jury duty, but, they can "find" another "reason" to release you of your position if you are gone for 2 months(+).

I would probably not have a job if I had to miss more than a day or two for jury duty, seriously doubt 2 months pay would be a consideration since a temp or new permanent employee would take my place. 2 months and they have someone else. I am the only employee.

When I waited tables/bartended you can bet ya' I would have no job to return to, and of course the idea of pay is out of the question.

Oh oh - camera just did a shot of Baez - who was looking extremely bored....

The earlier juror is back after talking to employer Guy's work covers the first week, but then he has to use his own paid time off (PTO). Would impact him financially.
