I am amazed at how many people own their own businesses, Florida must be a booming state!

I believe in a higher power and I believe that everyone who is seated (alternates & all) were meant to be serving on Casey's jury.

So I believe in fate.

Juror 1062: Says it would pose a hardship on him. Owns a small/family business (him/2 sons run it). Cannot be away from business for that long because of economy. Has daughter in a nursing home w/brain injury also. Takes her to all doctor appointments, to/from places, etc.

Excused.

See Casey, all of these parents LOVE their children. They are talking about not being able to be away from their children and not a tear is running down your face thinking about Caylee!! Her tears are so self serving.

Uh oh. Do I feel a defense smackdown coming from HHJP?

I don't understand this process. If the financial thing is a problem for everyone they are asking then what would they do?

Hi WF,

Jury duty is only about 30 bucks a day, plus leaving the family/business for up to 4-6 weeks with no contact, except a Sunday visit.

Most people in America can't live on 30.00 a day, pay their bills, pay their rent, go to work, etc.

Right now they are going through the hardship cases. I hope they have folks out there who can handle this case (pick me, pick me).

I'm talking about retirees, stay at home moms, independently wealthy, employers who pay for all jury time. They are out there - the Judge just has to find them!

Hugs,

Mel

They will be confined to those who are retired with pension income. Limited pool of employed people who can be away for that long. Even the retired persons are quite likely to have obligations, like this gentleman that takes his brain injured daughter from her N/Home to medical visits etc.

Judge wants to get through 56 more by today. State says they think 65. Baez says 60-65.
