Two year old child at home, has a great family that would take care but "I'm the mom." Ouch! ICA winced at that.

I wish that some jurors would take the hint from the Judge. He is not trying to tell them not to serve..he is trying to show them just how hard this is going to be.

He can't influence them but by his trying to have them see how much harder it is going to be than they reaalize.....he is heading off an issue with juror fatigue and having to deal with replacements.

Casey, did you make note of that? A two year old (tender years) requires care by it it's mother. "Excused."

No, I think Casey is missing that understanding gene.

Wow I don't understand what just happened there. She made it clear she'd be okay financially.

She works, she is responsible, she is young lives with her family....not the kind of juror the defense wants (responsible).

I can't believe she was excused, seems she would have been good for the State..

The way it's shaping up right now, I think they have a jury that will convict, but will be reluctant to grant the DP. JMO, though. There are still a lot of potentials to go through.

Yep, it's only day one.

Wow - the mother of a two year old - single working - no way the defense would let her in.
Ten minute break - who sat down? Is that Jeanette Barrett

I was under the impression that a potential jury pool would be pre-screened for personal and/or religious reasons why they could not impose the DP. Were these people not surveyed prior to this jury selection? Seems to me that those with moral or religious objections should have been eliminated so that time wouldn't be wasted in this tedious process. jmo
