Since I haven't been back to this case in months or read here, I was questioning if she could accuse George or Lee of fathering Caylee, thus being an excuse to have animosity toward her child and being seen as some kind of justification for leading to the murder. So then, the next question on NG tonight answered that. DNA testing confirms that neither could have been the father. Thanks.

Because Casey has always kept the secret of the parentage of the father. She claimed that the father was killed in a car accident, right?

To the best of my recollection, LE declared specifically that Casey's brother, Lee Anthony, did not father Caylee. In the same report, George Anthony was not excluded. There was also a strange statement about two individuals within the Anthony's immediate family being "first cousins". I'm very right-brained, creative, and verbal, but genetics isn't my strong suit, so I leave the scientific analysis to those of you who are specialists in the field.

So do I! I just came around to this recently, I soooo think those searches were intended for Cindy, and that sumpin went down during the day or two surrounding those searches, maybe more theft and a confrontation.

I think CA and GA tiptoe around KC cause girlfriend's got a touchy trigger and if she is confronted in the slightest, she goes into mega defensive mode.

For any of ya'll that have seen The Fighter, you've seen Lowell, Mass. My mom's from Lowell and the people there are just as depicted-loud voices! My mom's folks can get the decibels high, so I know loud...and I have not, through all of this, heard CA really, really be enraged and screaming her lungs out loud-She's hollered, as the Tennessee side of my family would put it, but never really given a good ole Lowell scare your skin off, face like a tomato scream at anyone.
What I'm getting at is that I think all it takes with CA is an intimidating scream and curse right in her face, and she'll back down. And according to AnnieD and one of the neighbors (forget if it was JeanC), KC would scream and curse at CA. Much of the time, I don't think CA fought back.

That'll all come out, though, when Lee tells the court about his experiences. but maybe the defense will go after Lee to eliminate that, or try, don't know.

I was recently reading the lake vaj thread and someone who knew kc was saying she was meant to be going to a big St Paddys day party and it was also her birthday, she didnt make it. I think a few days prior (someone also pointed out ) she had been caught by mommy dearest with her fingers in the cookie jar (again) so I put 2 + 2 together (oops) and thought she would be MAD MAD MAD at having been caught AND she couldnt go to the ball so in KC world that equals punishment by death. kinda ironic eh x

LA is the most logical option next to GA.........maybe that is why ICA was so emotional when she saw LA on the stand during the March hearings. She knew he was going to be her fall-guy. OR.............would CA be so horrible as to throw her own brother RP under the bus????? We know there is no love lost there........I mean if all they are doing is throwing people at random - well she probably would love that.

What about CA's father? He would make a good scapegoat. It is not like he can leave the nursing home to barge through the court room doors and proclaim his innocence. The grandma maybe but I doubt she will know about it until it is too late.

exactly what evidence do they plan to use to prove (convince) the jury that KC is telling the truth THIS TIME with her allegations of sexual abuse?

What witnesses are listed on the defense list (either guilt phase or penalty phase) that will help "back up" her claims?

Or is it going to be another of those he said-she said situations?

kc will have video evidence on her blackberry oh damn it she cant find it, Oh or maybe she has it on her laptop oops she deleted everything by mistake Is Google Chrome archived or maybe the FBI have the technology to turn back time if not they could speak to Michael J Fox ( as we know kc has a penchant for people with 3 names) and he could set up his time machine .. hope this helps

The myth that GA or LA could be Caylee's father has long been put to bed. Insinuations of other family members being the father are against our TOS about sleuthing victim's families.

Please consider other topics to sleuth so that this thread can stay open.

I think the big aha moment with sexual abuse is going to be Cindys father. In one of Cindy' depositions she says her father watched the children when they were young. Casey saw the fathers day video of Grandpa holding and loving Caylee and it triggered memories and PTSD which made her do what she did. I really think that video triggered something in her, even if it was just jealousy of Caylee having a loving relationship with Casey's grandfather when she was obviously not welcome there due to her theft.

Would it be possible that he would abuse KC and then possibly Caylee but not CA when she was young? If CA was abused by him or knew about the abuse of ICA by him, why would she take Caylee any where near the man even if she was right there with them? That just doesn't work for me.

I don't know. I think he would make a great scapegoat but CA's mom is going to make CA's life a living hell if ICA goes with that story. And that old woman sounds like she has got some spunk.

The "abuse" card (if it works) will get her life instead of death. Fine. Let them go at it. Life is fine. Just as long as she doesn't get out. I hope that this "card" doesn't work but if it does, at least it will publicly embarass her parents who certainly deserve much more!

I think they are going to use it for her ugly coping and say it was an accident.

5 stages of Grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. With Cindy, we have surely seen the first 2 and and attempt at Bargaining with her failed attempt to see her daughter the day before Mother's Day. I believe she wanted to come to terms with KC that day. But KC is now under JB's control, not CA's.

I think the full out Anthony Bargaining stage is about to commence in full force as they decide which family will hang on the cross (hate the "throw under the bus" cliche...overused)

Then, when all of this does not work and she is convicted, then we will see Depression and hopefully one day, Acceptance.

I seen with my own eyes ICA throwing a fit because her parents werent doting on her. That everyone cared more about Caylee then her. Nope sorry dont by it. IMO ICA was a spoiled little girl that got away with just about anything which her parents tried to change alittle by taking a little more control but by then it was to late. Not that the DT has much to work with so I guess they had to think of something. Not gonna work I believe the jury will see right through it:twocents:

Good question. We haven't really seen or I guess I should say heard anything related to abuse at all during any of the depos that I can think of, have we?

Maybe a well paid shrink?

Maybe they don't plan to back up anything. I think they plan to go in there and ask questions and make statements that allude to her being abused and say that her lies, her behavior, her demeanor now, everything points to abuse so therefore she must have been abused.

I certainly hope that they are not going with the suppressed memory of molestation thing. Wasn't there a big to do about these long ago and later most were proven to have been planted memories vs remembered memories? (She did say in a letter to that other inmate that she was recoving memories of GA molesting her) I think all of this is a crock but I am not a gullible as some of the jurors will be.

Yes, and if I was trying to prove abuse by the parents and/or LA, I would be trying really hard to keep all of those videos, etc. out of court too.

However, it seems that they have failed those attempts so you would think that they would take another route but I am not sure that these people are the brightest crayon in the box, the sharpest tack, the brightest bulb in the box, etc.

I have pretty much given up trying to second guess what their strategy really is. I am still not sure that they have one (at least not one that is a completely cohesive idea).

I COULD be wrong, but didn't it appear they (DT) attempted this and we even saw their visits reflected on jail logs, but then after SA completed depos on the two doctors, DT immediately REMOVED them from witness list?

I don't think that KC ever gave a carp about seeing her grandfather before and certainly doesn't now. Given that she won't see her parents now that they've begged to meet with her...I also don't think she has any motivation to see them.

Kent, there isn't any plan. I've been listening to the legal analysts today oping about this same thing. They all say that Casey is the only one that can take the stand and tell her story and the BIG PROBLEM is that jurors are already going to be aware she is a pathological liar, so they are going to be asking themselves that same question: "Why should I believe she is telling the truth THIS time?"

It boils down to credibility. :floorlaugh:

I also still think the claim of sexual or emotional abuse to explain murder (even just in mitigation) is going to blow up in the defense team's face.

Unfortunately, there are MANY people who have endured these abuses from all walks of life, and chances are that some members of the jury may have suffered the same (or know someone who did) and will defensively think "...and they (I) didn't murder anyone!"
