If we look back over the years, a lot of attorneys have jumped ship on ICA. IMHO there's good reason, some of it I'm sure boils down to the fact they didn't get the big pay off JB promised ( ie: media etc.) and then some I have to think thought that this was an un-win-able case!

I don't get it either. It's thoroughly maddening. It seems to me that what we're seeing is the combination of two defense strategies -- one formulated before Baez abandoned the ZFG kidnapping defense and one after the new and improved ICA fantasy about the accident. That would explain the obvious problems with all of his logically inconsistent approaches.

They should have just said KC made chloroform and it spilled into the trunk killing Caylee while she napped in the car. KC return to the car after only being gone ten minutes and found Caylee dead. She freaked out since the chloroform killed her and staged a kidnapping. That would cover all the evidence and leave her family and Kronk out of the blame game.

Not KC though... she won't take the blame for anything.

IMO the chloroform HAD to be put into the trunk AFTER the tow yard. Maggots could not have survived with levels that high.

She should be embarrassed. She joined the defense team and then walked on them. She formerly represented ICA, should we expect anything more? I have to wonder why she left the team if she felt the case was so iron clad for the defense. :floorlaugh: The jury can't hear her so called expert testimony.

Clearly she needed time off to heal from her make over. I would love to see a side by side of her then and now.

During the real-time threads, mods hang back a few pages and delete duplicate posts. For example, I think I took out 17 posts when Dr. V mentioned jumping back a few feet. These deletions are for the benefit of WSers who want to follow the trial thread after work, for example, and don't reflect at all on the original posters. It's just housekeeping.

If anyone notices a post missing that wasn't a duplicate, and wonders why, feel free to PM a mod with a question!

:tyou:

hmmmPH! *stomps foot*

I am never gonna get to 1000 posts this way!

I KEEEEEEEEEED I KEEEEEEEEEEED.

I think the home depot video will be shown soon......can't wait!!
What Home Depot video? I've been following this very closely since day 31 and I don't recall seeing or hearing of that? :waitasec:

What is remarkable about this morning is, no matter how technical things became, everyone, with the exception of the DT, enjoyed listening to Dr Vass. Not only this, but I am sure the jury want to hear more just to hear him speak, he is one of the most fun and interesting witnesses thus far. He exudes personality and super intelligence, I am in awe of the man, Baez can only look foolish trying to discredit him.

I am not too concerned about Baez interrupting, we just got to see Dr.Vass for longer.

If KC injected Caylee with any type of chemical would it be in her bones? Also IF Caylee drowned, would that show in Caylee's bones?

Once she got the new book " Skeleton Justice " out to the public she didn't need the media coverage from representing ICA.

I am wondering if that issue could even be raised w/o someone actually testifying that they personally sprayed pesticide in the trunk (and I am guessing ICA isn't going to say SHE did, LOL). CA, IIRC, admitted to putting Febreze in there, and there was a dryer sheet, but that's fine because they knew that at the time of testing.

In the depos JA is very interested in the defense's bug experts opinion about there should have been a lot more maggots and flies than there were. What he has done with that info I do not know. If it does come up that is where I would expect it. The DT's expert even did his own experiments with pigs in car trunks. JA seemed unusually interested and I'm sure then went over it all with his expert.

Is JB going for some type of "chain of custody" of the air sample? Also, LKB has ZERO credibility in so far as discrediting Vass for patents.

Hello...Dr. Vass stands to make so little from all of his patents that in all likelihood hiw profits from the patents would total around $40,000...and I suspect Mrs. Baden wouldn't get out of bed to defend a client for that amount. JMO.

I know I have asked this before, but I still don't get it? Can someone please explain to me why the defense, or rather JB has been fighting the smell of decomposition in the trunk evidence for so long and so hard?

I can understand why they did it initially. The initial murder charges were based on the trunk evidence. But in December 2008 it became an almost moot point when Caylee's remains were found. The decomposition in the trunk was no longer the linchpin of the states case. It was no longer the thing proving that a death had occurred. They had the dead body.

Even worse, JB said in his opening that Caylee died on June 16 and his client was there and aware of it. So his opening statement put his client in possesion and or control of said dead child.

It's not like the jury can't do the math here? Even if it was an accidental death, they are still going to follow the line from the house to Casey to the Car. It's not like she had someone elses body in the trunk? and it's not like they are going to buy into any theories of rotting pizza or suicide squirrels when there is clearly a dead childs body in play.

So why fight this so hard? Why would they fight this tooth and nail, alienatingthe judge the jury and everyone around them? Raise the objections and move on. I mean at this point wouldn't it almost be better to get your objections strongly on the record and then back off? The Frye hearing was lost, challenge the new science at appeal, but don't fight a clearly losing battle tooth and nail in front of the jury for no apparent reason? or am I missing something important in all of it?

The quick answer and probably the only one Faefrost is:

We have no freaking idea!

I think that we all missed the home depot video.....something SA has had and lists it as one of the vidoes that they will use in the trial....we all went ....HUH???

Chloroform=acetone, chlorine, ice to manufacture

Thank you. What I meant, though, was that I hope Dr. Vass will cover this topic in his testimony. The jury needs to know whether or not these levels of chloroform could have been created accidentally. :)

Watching JB, I think he is making a critical mistake in handling all of the prosecution witnesses himself. The SA split up the areas of their case: Mr. George largely handled the social relationships, Mr. Ashton the scientific, LDB the police, some crossover, but generally speaking.

JBhas a large team, he should be using this team to focus on different topics. They each would be more familiar with their area.

Besides, it would help mitigate any frustration or dislike the jury may form.

I think it is his ego.

In of of the last doc dumps, there was a (or 2?) things labelled Home Depot videos but they were never shown on the media.

With Heavy Heart...Over the weekend, my cousin's 2 year old grandson was found lifeless in a swimming pool.

There was no covering it up, the mom is beyond devestated and won't be having a night on on the town for God Knows how long, and he was immediately taken to the hospital even though it was too late to save him. THIS is what happens with an accidental drowning...

As a lifelong Floridian, I've heard these stories before, never has it touched this close. If there happened to be any unreasonable doubt left in my mind about Casey Marie Anthony, it's forever Set in Stone now just how much of a Monster she truly is.

Love Your Baby's no matter how old ~
RR

OMG!!!! how devastating..sending hugs:hug: and prayers :praying:to your cousin, the childs mother...to you and to all the family...
