It was placed right on the path to Caylee. Strange.

It could have been some kind of cutting tool one of the team used to clear a path to the evidence, and the so-called arrow may simply been a stick or clearing instrument a tech used to pull the vegetation aside.

Doubt if this is evidence or any conspiracy of hiding evidence involved.

Odd you should say that, last night I was puzzling over why someone would chloroform AND ducktape a childs mouth. I gave my hubby a brief summary, and he said, "Maybe the duct tape was meant to keep the child from breathing the chloroform." I laughed and blew his suggestion off as coming from someone who didn't have a clue.

BUT it has kind of stayed in the back of my mind. Chloroform spilled in the trunk...child has to be kept in the trunk...

Nevermind. It STILL sounds stupid. :floorlaugh:

ETA: Passing on reading the autopsy report. I can always read it later if I'm unclear on something. Better to err on the side of caution. Once read, it can't be unread.

Of all the TH's I like Vinnie Politan. Duct tape sealed it for him. Saying he understands now that is WHY it is a Death Penalty case. The duct tape over the nose and mouth. The hair. The horror.

I gave my hubby a brief summary, and he said, "Maybe the duct tape was meant to keep the child from breathing the chloroform." I laughed and blew his suggestion off as coming from someone who didn't have a clue.

If I were on trial literally fighting for my life, I don't think anything could keep me from that courtroom trying to prove my innocence. I wonder today if the SA caught the DT off guard this morning when they moved on to the next event. Maybe that's why JB and whatshisface went with ICA to discuss what was about to happen and how they wanted her to react. She obviously couldn't pull it off, so plan B was to pretend she was too sick to continue the trial. But think what the jurors have etched in their minds and time to think about - that duct tape wrapped around that poor child's skull. They will go to sleep tonight with that vision in their heads - talk about perfect timing to end the day!!

If the ol' timers remember way back when, we had many discussions whether or not Caylee was just tossed into the woods like trash. ICA was lazy so many thought that is just what she did. Get of out the Pontiac, walk some, and toss the laundry bag with two black trash bags inside with Caylee's body inside those TWO trash bags.

Well folks, we now know ICA did indeed walk into those woods and place The laundry bag with Caylee double black trash bags UNDER the log. Not just with intent, but malicious intent to hide Caylee's tiny body.

So did the DT have an autopsy done? Larry K seemed to be sure the skull was on its side for a long time due to debris settled in left area of skull. I missed the first part of what he said- just wondering if another autopsy was done after Dr G's.

Many still think it was put there post mortem to stop the leakage of bodily fluids...I honestly have wrestled with this myself.

I'd like to think that the duct tape was applied after she was dead, because it would be slightly easier. But it has never made sense to me that anyone would apply duct tape to deal with decomposition. It just sounds extremely messy, not to put too fine a point on it.

I hadn't realized before today that the duct tape was applied all around Caylee's head, and so high (was it covering her eyes? I didn't look at the pictures but this is what I thought people were saying). It seems to me like Casey was trying to depersonalize Caylee. She's turning her daughter into a faceless object. I think Caylee's death was probably worse than I'd like to think about. And even though I really have problems with the DP in general, in this particular case I think I might even be glad if she gets it.

Yeah, I was hoping she was at least tenderly laid, today said no.

I don't know about the chloroform, but I sort of wondered one day if she just plain old smothered little Caylee with a pillow when she was sleeping, and then duct taped her to finish the job.

Edited to add - I mean immediately - having nothing to do with decomp - but more of a "I really mean it kind of thing - just shut up forever"

Just as brutal. Either way, she's very guilty of murder IMO.

And yup, I read the report when it was first released. Pretty bad alright.
