UK lawyer calling in - difficult to understand (muffled) -

Asks Mark Bennett (DA in Texas) posted on KC case. Compared JB to incompetent Koefsky (another DA)...Can JP insist that another lawyer take the lead?

AZ - JP can't remove him from case. The defendant has a right to determine who she wants as a lawyer. He hasn't done anything that he can be removed for as yet. He's just not a very good lawyer and he really can't be removed for that.

Can Your Honour release JB from the case (for imcoptency)?

AZ: No he really doesn't, he hasn't done anything that he had to be removed for (ie, coming in asleep, coming in drunk). As it stands now, he's just not a very good lawyer - which is not a reason for removal.

UKLaw on .....love the accent! Mark Bennett DT in TX made a post on KC Case....compared JB to another murder case....does HHBP ability to require JB to finish the case or pull him out and allow another Atty to take the lead....if HHBP does have the ability...
AZLawyer said HHBP really doesn't have that ability - doesn't have anything to remove JB for....ie: asleep or drunk in court......

AZLaw. ...he knew this....hopes SA recognizes this and doesn't play into ineffective counsel.

Dr Glass? He knows what is going he - even may know he's not a good lawyer

AZlawyer - JB didn't really make the right objection to the animation (that ICA's face was in it) but it's probably not enough for an appellate appeal (sp?)

Animation had a picture of KC in it - could that be grounds for a mistrial?
AZ - no DT member objected to it....at this point don't think an appellate court would overturn or create ineffective assistance of counsel.....if she were the judge she would have asked how is it helping to have KC's face in the pic? take that out.

Great point AZ re: judge not bringing up the need for ICA in photo...I hate to agree with Baez on anything...and technically, I'm not as he didn't mention it, but that seems like too much perhaps...

Can someone please call in and ask AZLawyer her thoughts about a plea deal -- does she think the SA would totally disregard it, if ICA offered one?
