I am new here and reading all of this and catching up has taken me DAYS!!!! Thank you guys for the laughs during this horrible time. I am wondering though since I am having trouble finding this ( and get going in a different direction when I go to look) where I can find a thread about the dad of Caylee. I remember hearing that a guy by the name of Eric Baker was known to have died. Was it ever enquired to his family if he knew KC?

I think she googled obits for guys in her age range who had died. IMO, she never met Eric, and since he was from W Va (?) no local friends would know anything about him...

Strange that KC suggested that 2 different guys who had died was possibly the father. What did she think...that there was no way to check if they were dead? I bet she knew who the dad was. Maybe she had many guys but its hard for me to believe she did not know. Why was it a secret for her also?

I think that is the main reason that the FBI checked out Lee for paternity. Casey lied about who the father was, giving out two names of DEAD guys. So the FBI would obviously think she was hiding something. Oh, and the name 'Caylee' being a hybrid of Casey/Lee is kind of odd and creepy.

I really feel that JB knows this line of questioning the evidence is simply fluff. Besides once JB has CA/LA and then GA on the witness stand, JB truly believes his methods in examining them will win ICA her freedom. Word has it he has reserved an RV for her and once he frees her "cookie" as promised he will send her those royalty checks from all the $$$$ he will make from getting her released.

Welcome Celesta..Paternity of sweet Caylee has never ever been known..KC told no one who it is..maybe she doesnt know?..Maybe there are just too many to list ( which wouldnt look good)..so she resorted to naming deceased persons..Isnt it amazing when you sleuth out Obits just what you can find?..

KC's lying didnt start with this murder of Caylee..but it sure got out of control after she murdered Caylee...

An Aside..I have to wonder..just how many guys who had one night stand with KC are wondering to themselves..but not interested at this point..maybe glad they never got involved with MS KC :rocker:

I wish I could magically pull the link and point you to the exact spot - but I'm not even sure that there was a specific thread - you might key word search paternity or DNA and look for items dated Oct ish of 2008. Hope that's more than useless!

Let's clear up this. Nick Savage, who is FBI, is a friend of Lennie's. Lennie who loves to spout his stories by degrees of separation, convinced Nick somehow, don't ask, that Lee was Caylee's father. In the mean time, Lennie was spouting this to NG, who took off running with it and the media also did. This rumor had a life of it's own. We here discussed it.

Savage ordered this test to put an end to it, one way or another. Once the DNA analysis was reviewed by WS members, GA was also ruled out. Note, it was AZ who was one of the first to explain it as has joypath. The official explanation is all in a supplement report released by LE in the docs we have in the reference thread.

I know bad form. I posted this in another thread and I'm going to post it in the myth thread as well.

FYI. Today, Jeff in his cross with the FBI gal, specifically asked her this. DID THE OCSO OR THE STATE OF FLORIDA REQUEST THIS TEST? She replied NO, it was Nick Savage who inquired about getting a paternity test.

It is just a potential puzzle piece, and weak at best, yet the fact remains that there is reasonable doubt to the defense as to the sticker origin - no? Like you said, you may disregard it as a juror and they may very well do so - but sometimes you have a puzzle pieces that fit nicely, easy to find and have those nice sharp edges - and other times you have that one that kicks your rear to find it's place. If the jury buys into the SA case on evidence, and Baez can't defend to his opening statement - it becomes one of those oh it goes there items in your puzzle. I like the way you think though, because you seem as impartial compared to many here so welcome and keep posting. It is very difficult for some of us, that have followed this case since day 31 to look at things objectively and it is refreshing to get new points of view.

Thank you! It's nice to be here. I followed the Scott Peterson case very closely and understand what it's like to get really invested in the outcome of a trial. For what it's worth, I do think Casey murdered Caylee, but I am really curious about what the defense will present.

First,I think Cindy had something to do with the name,but nothing to back that up. :innocent:
In an interview or depo ,Cindy said they had seen a lawyer to have papers drawn up making George and Cindy guardian's of Caylee ,if anything happened to ICA.
The "three of them" decided they did not want the father in Caylee's life.

That could mean they wanted her to themselves with no worry of shared custody or visitation,or it could mean he was a creep,or it could mean she could not remember the name of a one night stand. It happens.I'm not being snarky. No,really I'm not .

Some info is here on the guy that KC said died. Keep in mind, no one believes this story, or that Jesse was (proven), or that GA or LA was (proven), or that she lost Brandon's baby. This girl was looking to trap any guy that would pay her way like mom and dad did, so happy researching, just take it with the knowledge that none of it is probably true.

But if she was looking to trap a guy she would have surely found out who the father was if she had a good idea. All it would take was testing a few guys in a week period.

Bill Shaeffer didn't think Baez made any inroads today. He thought at one point he had scored some points early on with the second witness but when he didn't sit down and kept on and on with the DNA felt he lost the jury. K. Belich stated the jury become inattentive after a while.

His opinion is that he did not poke any holes in the State's case at all.

All along I have noticed a distinct O.J. theme to JB's "strategy" contaminated evidence he is obsessed with booties he even asked him if they wore them in the swamp. Now today document examiner got a spec of DNA on the tape. I could give many other examples but this don't trust the evidence defense isn't new. The shovel and heart sticker he seems so proud of I don't think the state cared a wit about.. JB just draws attention to by making a big fuss. Maybe he is laying a foundation for a future class action against the adhesive company for faulty sticker glue... ( hope he doesn't read this )

I couldn't help on that, can't search well. I do recall at one point we were asked to cease and desist the ridiculous conversations about it as they get no where, and the point is moot. That must have been early 2009. Needless to say, if KC knows or does not, she is not telling. And, you haven't seen any men claiming anything as such in this last 3 years, not even with all the crazies and jailhouse hopefuls. So there you have it.

Oh dear .... Miss James. I need to make a major addition to this post, if I may.

During the depo with Linda when CA stated this, she was asked which attorney prepared these papers and did she have a copy. Of course CA said she did have a copy but couldn't produce it. She told Linda the name of the attorney was Paul Kelly, their family friend.

LE spoke with Mr Kelly who denied creating these papers.

This is all in CAs state depo and one of the supplemental reports written by Yuri.
