It's probably Sims that is texting him. That's why she's on that computer. She just doesn't want to get up and directly do the questioning.

Isn't what Simms does is provide the "Doc in the Box? So she has obviously got some nameless person for Baez to consult while he is up at the podium or when he is listening to JA.
This is stuff we would not be expecting her to do any courtroom work directly with the witnesses, but her job is to find and have on the line, experts for Baez to consult directly, or have Simms ask the questions for Baez to the expert or experts so Baez can use them when he is up with his witnesses.

Just wanted to clear that up.

JA's dismantling of the witness, and indeed the defense's entire theory of the case, was one of the more enjoyable cross-examinations I've ever witnessed. :D

It should be interesting to see what JB plans to do with Kronk, now that his bug man has agreed that the remains were where they were found for six months.

Dr. Huntington might have all the degrees but he does not have the experience and I will take experience over degrees any day.
You could see it plain as day, I would hate to go back to his University and teach, he must feel like he has been run over by a truck.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving person. I might add, that's what he gets for trying to railroad justice for Caylee.

been packing for upcoming trip and have been watching on and off today... thank you all for the wonderful updates...

have to say, i think im in love with JA! I love how passionate he is,,,, truly happy caylee has this wonderful man in her corner! (pretending he is coming home to me now after his long successful day of "lawyering." LOL)

:great:

Me too! but I was thinking of borrowing some heels from stiletto.... oh wow...way too much information wen!!!

I am now becoming silly after today.,,, coping mechanism to achieve homeostasis!

You know what I've sensed by watching this testimony...the reason for JA's passion...he truly believes in this case. On the other hand, I don't get that feeling from watching Baez. It's hard to argue points that are closer to resembling b$ than the truth. If his scenario really stacked up, he'd be able to find those that could undeniably testify that the evidence the State presented was hogwash. That's not happening...not even close.
You have to wonder why this guy...a student of Dr. Haskell's...would want to testify knowing the depth and breadth of of Dr. H's knowledge? Can you imagine what Ashton will do with the grief counselor's testimony? She's never even "examined" Casey.

LOL - Jeff will do the same thing to her as he did to that Law professor that was a witness at one of the death penalty hearings - he ate her up and spat her out! ( The look on Baez's face after was truly priceless :)

I don't know if this has been posted, during one of the break Bill S. told how he had gone over to the line of folks waiting to get in and asked if they were eeveer in trouble, would they want Baz for an attorney. Everyone responded. "NO!" Bill S. says this case could very well break Baez's career.
One can hope.

TM got bloodied, but he didn't do too badly for a first time expert witness. Everybody has to start somewhere.

Why do you think the honorable JP wants to see the attorneys at 8:30AM in the morning?

Does anyone know if HHJP can call Baez out for these horrific drone sessions that are DESTROYED after only two questions on cross?
Does the Judge have the right to advise JB to stop the obvious stall tactics? Or can JB go on forever?

I am pretty sure JB can go on and on as long as he wants - this is the defense case in chief after all (even though as CM said they are not REQUIRED to present a case). HHJP can advise 'get to the point" in certain areas - if JA objects but that is it I think..

MOO

Geez, the difference between the State's expert witness and Defense expert witnesses is overwhelming. I know the State has more money to work with, but it's almost embarrassing to see how personable, confident, engaging, honest the State's experts were and then we have....well- Defense "experts".

Bill S. said JA should have mentioned that Haskell was his teacher, but I'm thinking JA did NOT want the jury to associate their expert witness with this joke guy. I love how JA basically laughed this guy off the stand at the end. ha

The defense had plenty of expert witnesses who won't be testifying.

IMO they agreed with the State's findings. Those left are ,well, just what you described.

Aternoon All.... I missed the whole afternoon session, could not believe TH was still on stand when I got back home. Did JA take his argument apart? Quick recap please.

Let's just say Dr. Huntington is a slow bleeder....

It took a while for the deep cuts JA was making to finish him off.

BBM. Upon reading the bolded portion, I immediately got a picture in my head of LKB turning a handle on a large box, some music plays, and then out pops an expert! :floorlaugh:

Is it just me or did JA manage to change him from "Young, Brilliant Scientist, the Youngest PHd in history" to "Weird Creepy little bug dude fascinated by dead people. The sort of person you expect to be called Igor or Renfield in a classic horror movie"?

Quote Respect faefrost :tyou:

G-D THANK YOU! I know! He related on a weird level with the maggots, and this comes from a woman who thinks she speaks to trees, nature in general. All of the experts for the State exuded intellectual curiosity and a healthy mental attitude imo, while: Igor hits it on the nail. I was also thinking of "wormstrom" from Futurama. Also the little guy in the Mummy who plays sides to get gold and is told by a character: guys like you always get their come uppance.

He is a toadie. And I do not think the dark princess was pleased with his performance. Does she have to do everything herself!? :bud: :bigstick:

:whip:

:twocents:
:twocents:

Oh, and let's not forget the nice little slip of December 11th as his hire date! Wowzers, he wasn't really worth it, was he DT.

I wish JA would have expounded on this a bit more with the witness.

In all fairness, and as much as I hate it, Baez is fighting for the life of his client, so he should and needs to be given as much time as it takes.

Judge Perry always says that "death is different".

I don't get it. Why did the defense call the newly-minted Ph.D. entomologist two years before he did the experiment (which was NOT done for this case) that he based his testimony on?

I have to admit...I hope ica DOES take the stand... JA would eat her alive... And she's just cocky enough to think she could outsmart him. It would be a good watch, that's for sure.

I believe LDB would do the cross. And I'd pay a good bit of money to see that

Peeps, I'm going to back away from the keyboard for a second. Just a couple of reminders because I want to keep seeing all your bleary-eyed faces here each morning as we await justice for Caylee:

PLEASE let's remember that these witnesses, although remote to us, are fallible human beings, with real families and real lives beyond this case, just like each of us is.

TOS requires that we not name-call, but we can do one better than that, and not speculate or cast aspersions.

Dr. H is a young'un from where I sit. I bet he's learned a great deal from his participation in this case--lessons learned the hard way, I'd venture to say--and some of what he's learned might actually make him a better PhD, a better teacher, and a better witness in the future, hopefully on behalf of some victim whose name we don't yet know.

Keep the faith, please.
:tyou:

This witness testified to the jury that he saw dried bologna in one of the "pictures" basing his theory on it, and ultimately vetted out by Ashton, that it was a piece of paper. Doesn't the same hold true for the "picture" of the stain in the trunk, as to his expertise??

I am still fuming over this witness and feel he should have been impeached....

Does anyone know what was up with the tweet about the two jurors putting a coat over the monitor? That was during the picture of the stain in the trunk. Sure seems like some people have no problems thinking that it's decomp.
