I believe he will follow through, especially since it has come up again. I also think he's ready to call JB's bluff.

JB keeps claiming time constraints.Bull Hockey.

Oh he outright said today that the court cannot simply issue threats. To not follow through is to not just to ket JB get away with something but to undermine or abrogate the power of the courts and leave the bench toothless.

The delay or hesitancy is simply because HHJP cannot find any cases where it has actually come to this before. So he needs to word his ruling and his opinions very very carefully. This will be reviewed by a higher court, and there is not a good record for them upholding such rulings. HHJP is in a very harsh place because of JB's antics. He is absolutely forced to take an action that in some way will come back to him. But he cannot not do it as failing to do it undermines the courts.

Yeah I really don't think he is going to go easy on JB when the dust settles. HHJP seems to have a long memory for details. He can forgive JB for pissing him off, but this willful challenging of the court and court orders. I think JB is looking at whatever the max contempt penalties can possibly be. And I bet HHJP is drafting his letter to the bar during the break.

I have to admit that JA has displayed some MINOR gamesmanship in this case but NOTHING along the lines of case disrupting...

I also think JA might have a reputation for getting "feisty" as I watched video of RH commentary from Saturday and even HE mentions that he has gotten into verbal altercations with JA over cases where they had to have judge intervene and mediate in chambers....

I think HHJP is just "playing it safe" in his comments in court this am
Yes, but my point is that if one side's gamesmanship is so egregious that it violates the Court's rules, then how can both be just 'as at fault'.

Its amazing how very many lives Casey Anthony ruins. Every single person she comes in contact with their lives are ruined. She is ruining Baez's life. She is ruining C. Mason's life by taking his distinguished career and making him look like a buffoon at the end of it. I think Baez is going to be out a ton of money and maybe stuck in jail at the end of this case, maybe lose his license or be disbarred.

But Baez can't even see it. He will do anything to try and get her off and she just keeps on ruining people's lives and going her merry way. She really is a horror story. She has decimated her whole family.

I disagree. Baez is doing a fine job all by his lonesome. ;)
ETA! ICA is NOT to blame for JB's failure to pay child support.
ICA is not to blame for JB's writing of a bad check.
ICA is not to blame for JB's failure to repay student loans.
Need I go on? :D

@OSCaseyAnthony
Casey Anthony News Judge angered at baez's apparent discovery violations, gives harsh lecture before calling recess

JB told the judge that not only is JA trying to kill his client, he's now going after her attorney. I'd say that is major, disgusting snark! Can anyone point out any equally nasty snark from JA????

some screen captures this morning

shirt tied in back to make it more tight fitting in front

Baez talking to the Inmate while the Judge is talking

The Inmate shaking hand of some new guy who put a briefcase and box behind Baez' chair

Sims on her cell phone while the Inmate is reading Sim's laptop monitor

guard at sidebar talking to Judge

Ok....I was too busy moderating to actually SEE that so thought you guys were just guessing about the shirt....but seriously....she is on trial for KILLING HER DAUGHTER, IS FACING THE DEATH PENALTY, and her ATTORNEY IS MAKING AN 🤬🤬& of BOTH of them...

And she is worried about whether she may appear "fat" or less endowed in the chest???????:waitasec:

JB is doing this on purpose. He asked for mistrial so many times and was denied, that his only option to get another trial is to go against court orders again, and again, hoping that one of his witnesses will be excluded, which opens the door to a new trial. I don't think JB's antics will stop. He is putting the judge against a wall.

My feeling is that JB is doing this in order to spring testimony on the state which they are not prepared to tackle on cross.

Cheap trick. And HHJP now see's it for exactly what it is.

years that the SA's have been dealing with JB...I shudder. I would have lost my mind and quit a long time ago if I had to deal with these shenanigans of JB for THREE years. Can you imagine? I stopped following the case long ago after Caylee was found and ICA was in jail and only started again for the trial-I had a huge break from JB and he still makes me crazy-I can only admire the SA's who've dealt with him for all this time.

IMO Baez has been involved in so many underhanded maneuverings outside of court that what he is doing during the hearings is what he is going to get the book thrown at him for once this trial is finished. The State is not blind to what he has been involved in the last three years. I doubt the whole story of his manipulations will come out, but I’m convinced we’re seeing the end of JB’s career in law due to has failure to follow the Judge’s orders(even though he is guilty of much worse)…….. As for CM, it’s been my belief that he joined the defense in order to give it some credibility. When JB is found to be in contempt we still have a very competent well known attorney associated with ICA’s defense. I hope they hang JB.

So why aren't any of the other lawyers on the DT stepping in to prevent JB from making a huge mess out of the CIC? They've got what, 5 other lawyers? Or more? Is JB really insisting on taking charge of everything? Or have the others pretty much given up?

Probably because they want to keep on practicing law. :great: I doubt Baez is soliciting their advice. If he were, he wouldn't have headed down this road.

So a witness shows up at the State Attorneys office for a deposition on Sunday. Wasn't that nice of Baez to schedule this for Jeff Ashton? WTH Baez might fly by the seat of his pants but JA does not. And he is just trying to get the State caught off guard.

OK so now does Jose Baez expect the State to keep a court stenographer on premise 24 hours a day? Baez knows better. He realized he had the second lightening strike hanging over his head and suddenly this witness was asked to prepare a report and slide show? No the slide show was already prepared. You don't suddenly on a Sunday afternoon prepare a slide show presentation. Good Luck Baez.

Exactly and I have no doubt that Baez was going to try and hand this ppoint to Ashton as an exhibit he wanted to be in evidence. So he sends his witness over unannounced and this is totally inappropriate.

Rewatching this mornings arguments and it's so typical of JB to insinuate that he's the only or working hard on this case. He's got some enormous....

Once this trial is over he is going to be in so much hot water - he really needs to enjoy his time left practicing law while he can!

not sure he cares. I do believe he cares not to try this trial again though since I believe his long term plans have nothing to do with defending clients. I believe his goals are more in line with being like LP or MG and making appearances on all the shows nightly.

I think he's pi**ed that the state did not notify the court earlier that they would need to address housekeeping issues before any witnesses even testified, thus leaving the jury waiting once again.
Both sides had been warned apparently.

oh, and a screencap of the ICA's classic tied-tee look-

I was so shocked at that knot, does she have a lick of sense in her little head? that cant possibly be comfortable sitting on it all day like a silly little bunny tail. I have never seen that before in my life.

I can only imagine the hell to pay if this next DT witness is not on the stand at 10:25am. Shudder.

I hope JB has more than this next witness lined up for today, unless he plans on keeping her on the stand all day.

I think it's quite clear which of the teams are prepared for this trial.

mombomb, I need to add this, you have to use the back arrow on your browser immediately to recapture your post screen. If you go to another page, you lose it completely. Goodness knows how many times I did it before I started to copy the reply.

Let's not forget the young Dr and every other Defense witness. Totally discredited, IMHO.

Yes, but my point is that if one side's gamesmanship is so egregious that it violates the Court's rules, then how can both be just 'as at fault'.

Because I think HHJP is trying to be VERY careful not to give Baez the avenue of accusation that the JUDGE was BIASED in this case....

Prosecution HAS had its hand slapped (very minor in comparison) for a couple incidents involving evidence...one just the other day....

I am kind of surprised that CM did not knock some sense into JB over the weekend. JB is seriously looking at losing his license when this is over.

Why would he do that for ICA? I just don't get it. :gavel:

I'm starting to sense that CM doesn't give a crap about JB. Think about it, every experienced attorney that has assisted in this case including CM, wanted to take control of the case because they were clearly aware of JB inexperience. However, JB was having none of that. He wanted to be in control even though he knew he couldn't handle this case. During the past three years, I have no doubt that JB inflated ego has caused some friction between the attorneys.

JB is a USER just like ICA. He wants guideance from the experienced attorneys and he also wants to be the main man calling the shots (the big dog). For this reason, I think CM is getting even by giving JB advice that will make him look stupid. CM would never pull these antics in court if he was in the prime of his career but since he's at the end of his career and doesn't have anything to lose, I don't think it matters to him one way or the other. Therefore, he is instructing JB to push the envelope. I think CM is finally having his FUN at the expense of JB!!!
