Guys, we have to remember that HHJP does NOT want a repeat of this trial. Hell, I don't want a repeat of this trial! He has to include the SA to look fair. And C'mon, the bar will take one look at this and their lasers will be trained on the DT. There is no WAY the SA is getting in trouble with the Florida Bar, or it will be a light slap on the hand. They have done nothing wrong here. HHJP doesn't have a choice but to include both sides. He has to do it or we'll have a mistrial and I will totally lose my mind. Seriously.

HHJP is doing everything in his power to see that this trial is the only trial, and I thank him for that. He is not going to let Baez get a mistrial for Casey. He is not going to try this over again. I agree with him, let the Florida Bar deal with Baez after trial. He is going to lose his license and never pratice law again. It'll be hard to be a talking head once he's disbarred, and that's what Baez is afraid of.

I just can't get over the show he puts on for Casey, and she's all happy with him. She must really think he's going to get her a mistrial. Or both just don't care at all and just like making other people suffer to make themselves happy.

So is Baez willing to lose his career and any chance of being a talking head for Casey? I really wonder about that...but I continue to applaud HHJP. JA knows, the SA knows that it has done nothing wrong and this is way it has to be. This isn't JA's first rodeo either. Let's breathe and try to relax. Baez will get his after the trial, oh yes he will. Don't take out any frustration on HHJP because of Baez. That just means Baez is winning.

did HHJP state that the rules regarding continued disregard of an order has never needed to be addressed until now???

CM should be held accountable just as much as Baez because he willingly stood by while Baez has disobeyed the courts orders over and over....:banghead:

What did I miss?? Why did they recess until 10:30?? Did JB not depo his witness?

Noooo... not quite. It's juicier than Saturday.

Apparently Dr. Eikenbloom was waiting in the hallway to testify Saturday. JB had only ever submitted a single half page report from him that stated nothing. After the big blow up over Dr. Rodriguez JB had him quick write a report and go knock on JA's door to get the state to do a deposition on him. (unscheduled, unexpected, against all previous court orders, etc)

So now we have our second major violation of the courts order from JB in two days. That same order for which he was already fined for violating. Plus the defense seems to be out of witnesses for this morning. JA asked for some time to finish reviewing the quicky depo he had to do on Dr. Rodriguez Saturday and Eikenbloom would have been next up.

I don't think we have ever seen HHJP quite this mad.

One thing is for sure JB is in some serious trouble and has a change of address in his
future. Jail.

I could be wrong, but my understanding was the report or power point would be excluded since Judge Perry made the state withdraw the one that they had last week??

I thought HHJP was simply using that as an example to JB, to basically say that he COULD exclude this testimony altogether because DT was in violation of the court order.

But I could be wrong too.

Remember CM indignantly saying he had never been held in contempt of court during one of the earlier hearings......He has done nothing to improve JBs behavior or ability to follow court orders so I hope he ends up being held in contempt.

Can someone please tell me why in the crap JA is getting in trouble too?!? I am beyond angry...

I think he's pi**ed that the state did not notify the court earlier that they would need to address housekeeping issues before any witnesses even testified, thus leaving the jury waiting once again.
Both sides had been warned apparently.

oh, and a screencap of the ICA's classic tied-tee look-

So I wonder what commentary Ms. Linda Baden will be offering this evening in regards to this morning??

Hmmmmmm

OK...do you think ICA is singing in her head...
I'M TOO SEXY FOR MY SHIRT, TOO SEXY FOR MY SHIRT....TOO SEXY

JA did nothing wrong, he does not have to be put in the corner for anything...but JB will never stop his shenanigans.....he is the one that still needs the playpen...

JA is just as much as fault for gamesmanship as JB is. The only difference is that JB's antics go beyond the realm of the rules of the court, whereas JA has a team that won't allow that to happen. JA, however, has been very unprofessional at times, and has clearly let his distaste for JB show in court. He's been admonished for this as well, and HHJP made it clear that he sees every bit of the "game" the 2 are playing with each other.

I've said it over and over during this case. JA just needs to let JB be JB, and he'll win. The times that the DT has scored their (minor) points is when JA gets upset and lets JB get under his skin. For Caylee's sake JA just needs to let it go. Quit with the shouting, quit with the nasty looks and huffy attitude, and just prosecute the case. They are going to get a conviction, but getting angry only leads to situations like this, and gives an appellate court pause for consideration of the attitude of a State's Attorney.

I got so caught up in other cases here I missed the entire morning session until this break. Sounds like JB is not only up a creek but up the Niagra Falls......

and now it is too late for me to go to the grocery store before my son gets home from his dads. Will have to put that off until the lunch recess.

Trying to get caught up but it appears HHJP has exhausted his last nerve with JB.
I do not believe JB will end his tactics and I fully expect this trial to go on long passed the date of 6-25 or so when the Judge said he thought it may be finished.

I wonder what might be in the jurors minds with all this bouncing them in and out of the court room.

Oooooo Kimster!!!! You misssed the SMACKDOWN that HHJP handed down to the attys.

Very exciting morning!!!!!

I'm sure you be seeing replays of it all in the news!!!

I'm gonna guess that at this stage of the game the jury has developed a pretty good idea of whose fault any delays are.

Good point... during the State's CIC the witnesses were all ready and brought in one after another like clockwork, with none of this mess...

During the last part of JP's speech Jose started talking to Casey, then he moved over and was talking to Mason. Then he moved back over and was watching the judge and when the judge asked about the next witness Jose stood up and started talking to Casey. I really thought he was going to call Casey to the stand and forget the rest of the witnesses.

I missed seeing Casey walk into court, and so I just noticed now that she's got her cardigan knotted up at the back because it's oversized. It blows my mind that she cares so much about her appearance, when she's on trial for her life. It's like that little gesture just encompasses her whole attitude and actions. She cares so much about the superficial that she killed her daughter in order to enjoy it.

She drives me crazy. Fiddle with sleeves, tuck shirt in, pull sleeve up, pull sleeve down, pull shirt down, tuck shirt in, stick chest out, smooth hair down, dab at eyelash, wring hands, mess with shirt, stick chest out...

Why would I be surprised at what JB gets up to - he's got the same attitude of his client - it's everybody else's fault. Takes no responsibility for their own actions.

Jose is in A LOT of trouble once this trial is over. Trust me, Jeff Ashton will be in no trouble AT ALL. Judge Perry is wording things for both sides so he doesn't appear to be favoring one side over the other. Judge Perry made the distinction when he was talking about the one who "repeatedly" violated the court order. He was talking to Jose. Jose knows this. Jeff knows this. We know it and Judge Perry knows it.

I have no problem with Judge Perry waiting until after the trial to deal with Jose. We need to keep the trial moving.

did HHJP state that the rules regarding continued disregard of an order has never needed to be addressed until now???

CM should be held accountable just as much as Baez because he willingly stood by while Baez has disobeyed the courts orders over and over....:banghead:

Yes! As a general rule lawyers do take court orders seriously. It is wired into them to do what the judges order says. To hit the third or fourth time of a violation of the same court order is literally unheard of.

This may have given KC her IAC appeal right there. I can't see how JB does not face some massive Bar sanctions above and beyond any contempt findings the judge hands down after the trial.
