I think HHJP is telling them today is it. No more breaks or he'll personally ruin their careers.

Has to be something big... perhaps mistrial or plea deal. Don't know if anyone has actually told Baez that he is doing a terrible job, opened with a statement that puts a burden of proof (to some extent) on defense, and is looking at possible disbarment after the trial. As the attorneys and judge were in the back room, attorneys kept coming in and out and then they would hand Casey a paper to read. At one point, it looked like she was near tears - and there was no jury to impress -

Anyone else thinking along those lines?

This is NOT Judge Perry's fault! No one is to blame but Jose Baez.

It IS his fault. He allows the defense to get away with these tactics day after day. He could command the defense have 4 or 5 witnesses lined up every day whether called or not. He is the ruler of the court and he is allowing Baez to rule his court with his shenanigans. All in the name of this KC getting a fair trial. He should sanction Baez right now. Give him a $5,000 fine or something. Something that hurts so he stops this nonsense. Give him 1 day to pay up.

Is it possible SA and DT are working on a plea deal?
I doubt it, since Casey would have to admit to some wrong doing. I can't picture that ever happening. moo

Either BS or the other guy (sorry, I usually watch post hoc so I don't know the commentators' names yet) mentioned something this morning that I thought was pretty interesting. I hope that I don't get reported because it is about the ages of JB & his colleagues. The guy said that for the most part, JB had surrounded himself with younger attorneys, who (according to the guy, again) would be more likely (than, I guess, older/more experienced attorneys & aides) to be "yes-men." As in, "Yes, you made some inroads with Dr Spitz," "Yes, you blew some holes in [SA witness's] testimony on cross," etc.

@MagpieFromHinky Brilliant lawyering by Baez. You have no idea of what's going on. If you keep Baez's goal in mind, you will understand.

I am beginning to blame Judge Perry as much for these delays as much as the defense. He is allowing the defense to get away with murder and they are going to keep this up as long as they can. Believe me, this won't be the last violation. Baez doesn't give a darn. He knows nothing is going to happen to him. The judge didnt' mind putting that brain damaged woman in the clink but he doesn't do anything to Baez. I am really sick of this. I feel sorry for the State of Florida putting out all this money for this sort of trial.

I understand how you feel. I am very frushtrated too. :banghead: I don't think we can blame the Judge though. If he gave the kind of sanctions this calls for before the end of the trial, it would cause a mistrial. I honestly think after the trial is over JB will be back in Miami selling bikinis on the beach.

Good Morning,

Does anyone else feel like they have just entered The Twilight Zone ?

:abduction:

The Talking heads are going to be spinning today, with nothing new to report.
How many times can they rehash, no witnesses.
IMO

This is the point that LKB will come out of hiding, and be all over HLN and InSession, spouting how this delay is because JA is 'afraid of Rodriguez testimony.' You watch...betcha! Let LKB's head beginning a-spinnin'.

And just to add to that he didn't mind fining some poor guy that got called to jury duty $400 for talking online and he didn't mind fining that poor brain damage girl $400 and throwing her into jail but he lets Baez commit violation after violation and does nothing. That looks real bad to me. I no longer admire him like I used to.

There is going to be so much smoke coming from Judge Perry, it's going to look like the Cardinals elected a new Pope.

Y'know what? I'm a Florida taxpayer and the cost for this dog 'n pony show is comin' outta MY wallet...I am SO PIZZED OFF at these needless delays. I am just steamin' mad....The DT has been getting away with too much for too long....enough already! And how about the poor jurors?? I just wanna slap someone upside the head with a 2x4!!
:furious:

You're not alone, jane.

To me, a mistrial would make her happy (unless she thinks DT is actually winning).

A plea deal could cause some tears.

Too bad Baez can't be charged with contempt for being a complete liar!

My bet is on His Honor...when he sends this to the bar, I believe it will be full of the egregious happenings out of Baez...his misrepresenting, his accussing innocent people, his inablilty to show respect to the court, his inability to follow court instructions,...etc...etc..it will be chock full of Baez...and his shenannigans...I can't wait to see this man cut down and his napolean sydrome shot out of the park...he needs to be cut down for his ego is too big to fit those shoulders...

Much of this time he was too interested in TV interviews, putting his mug out there...he didn't put as much time in as she stated while trying to throw the State under the bus for 'intentionally' not taking a depo of a witness who had nothing to report...talk about the pot and kettle...Baez is so out of his league..today reinforces that for me...JMHO

What happens if Dr. Rodriguez has another commitment ? What a mess for everybody else involved .JB and CM reallt thought they would be able to pull this off.

Its the same old thing, the perps rights are more important than the victims.

Judge Perry has turned a problem child into a big problem child. JB knows that nothing is going to happen to him.

Like CA did to ICA!!!

JP needs to reign JB in real tight but he still is given way to much slack and he comes right back and does it again, again, and again....:maddening:

Let me preface my question by saying I'm pro-prosecution and admire the work of the assistant state attorneys. I'm operating from memory, but I recall HHJP told JA to depose the Body Farm witness on Saturday afternoon with the understanding that the witness would be called Monday morning. Didn't JA have an obligation to be prepared for the witness this morning?

I would bet you ten bucks Baez used the "thwarted by traffic" excuse AGAIN. We need some thwartcakes! LOL

thwartcakes! This trial is so bizarre. And your comment just made me think of the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland ordering a batch of "thwartcakes" at a tea party. Who would all of the defense players be at the table?
