oh I saw that.I was talking about this past week after CA and LA got off the stand

I thought the poster was speculating that hecklers and protesters may start showing up again. I hadn't heard that there was actual protesting happening now? hmmmm...

I will look and see if there are any reports. It wouldn't surprise me though. I'm sure the good people of Florida are more than fed up with the Anthony's shenanigans at this point!

day and I was gobsmacked by how brief the cross exam of him was. Wasn't it like an hour? I was really surprised. I'm sure there's some good tactical reason. I don't see this happening with ICA-if she gets up there I think she will be there for a good long time with LDB and/or JA picking her bones clean.

Not sure if any of you are following the Jason Young trial, but OMgosh - totally gobsmacked when he was called to the stand. He did quite well actually (trained to the hilt IMO), and now we're waiting for the verdict. If you want to read up on another trial (he's suspected of killing his wife) head on over to the trial thread (Jason Young). You can also watch his testimony on line.

At this point, I really wouldn't be suprised if ICA took the stand. There's really no other way to get her story out to the jury (as Jason had to do. And what a story it was <roll eyes>)

Maybe Casey isn't waiting to be convicted before she rolls the bus over Baez.
It seems that it is getting pretty crowded under that bus, huh? But I guess in her eyes there is probably always room for one more.

According to Mark NeJame and channel 6 news, the court reporter left the courthouse as soon as court was dismissed. She would have had to stay and take down a questioning by the judge of the tampered with witness. That would rule out witness tampering and also jury tampering as a reason why this happened.

Glad you posted this for others that might be worrying like i was. I was worrying all day yesterday that it was a juror issue, until someone said to watch the NeJames interview on HLN. I didn't know that the reporter left right after court, as he said.

I wonder if a perjury conviction would keep them from making money on this case at the end of the trial?

I think the law (Son of Sam) regarding criminals making money by writing books, selling film rights to their story, etc., is for criminals convicted of a felony. Is perjury a felony?

At the very least, I would think that a conviction on perjury would have the effect of limiting book sales. Who wants to read a non-fiction book written by someone who's got a conviction for lying?

Personally, I'm not interested in reading a book written by any Anthony, but I'd love to read a book on this case written by Yuri Melich or Kathy Belich.

I know I thought about that too!!
Just one more example of running her mouth when not needed.. it's like What has that got to do with the price of rice in China?

and ....The testimony about the DNA on tape from skin ... HELLO have you ever gotten tape wet ..like a band aid it slips no dead skin .. DNA went down the drain ...

If ANYBODY had said that about rubbing alcohol being expensive it would have been a stupid statement. But to have a NURSE up on the stand state that is just...I can't find the words. I guess she saves up her change so she can buy hydrogen peroxide too. Jeez.

And i guess if they get ICA on the stand, it will go on for a while
If ICA has decided to take the stand, perhaps because LEE DIDN'T GO ALONG WITH THE "PLAN"...

Knowing that JB is close to wrapping up his arguements wouldn't both sides need time to prepare? -as defendants don't always tesify in their own defense?

Well if Casey wrote a book, I would love to read it just to try to get inside her head a little. I would already assume nothing was true, but her ability to lie is compelling enough. Just like reading her jail letters.

as in a case like this and at this point in the trial most judges would get in the room with the defendant and "work on them". BUT if she wants JB gone I wouldn't be surprised to have HHJP all for it. He's not only annoying, but incompetent and IMO unethical so HHJP may see it to everyone's benefit. But, likely, this is just wishful thinking. But I would love to see him "fired".

I think Casey tried to fire someone and the judge gave her the weekend to think about it. They got her to agree to the cooling off period and canceled court so going against her wishes would not affect her rights to counsel.

Come Monday morning she will tell the judge if she wants to go ahead and fire the person.

This sounds as plausible to me as anything...I have wondered for the last few weeks WHY ICA has this weird loyalty to JB, since people appear to be disposable to her and clearly (IMO) he has not done well to further her case.

Perhaps CM had a long heart-to-heart with her and let her know that her best interests have not been served by JB. CM, from what I have read has an impeccable reputation and I am quite sure he is over the NONSENSE that is JB's defense. Maybe he told her that JB is hurting her more than he is helping her, which I think he is!

As much as I believe this woman is guilty of murder one and deserves the DP, I don't want her to get it only because her attorney sucks. If that is the case, there is too much chance of the verdict being overturned on appeal. At least if CM takes the case over, he will (hopefully) be ETHICAL. MOO!:twocents:

Saturday: Minute-By-Minute
Local 6 News reporter Tony Pipitone recounts what happened in the Casey Anthony murder trial on Saturday.

just found this.

bumping 'cause it's a great time-saver regarding yesterday's delayed proceedings.

So Cheny raises new issue & Cheney Mason says it's an entirely different issue than DOD Dr. Ferdon.

At adjournment, His Honor concludes that it's an entirely different legal matter (unrelated to DOD witness matter); HHJP says both sides concur a legal issue has arisen. And ... ADJOURN.

*****************************************************

Folks here have been speculating for 30 hours as to what it could be. :dunno:

Cheney had planned to bring the issue up in the AM, obviously. "An entirely different subject I would like to address." Baez knew about it (also obvs.).

It does seem to be a matter that was of "news" to the SA team - given initial body language at 9 AM. They seem thoughtful, rather than upset or combative. See Burdick & Ashton step away from Judge with heads down - in thought - Burdick with arms in defensive position and Ashton with both hands stuck in pockets.

Also Cheney @ 9 AM, being polite to both SA's leaving sidebar - Baez reacting as if he already had the info and knew what he would next do.

There-after ... DT & SA team chatting quietly amongst selves pre-recorded conference in chambers.

So...if it's not DOD witness issue ... and it's a legal issue, and the source of legal issue was Cheney/DT ... and DT responds non-combatively to it, and agrees there's an issue ... what could ...

oh crap. I give up. :dunno:

Any other hunches?

Why does the reporter, at the top if this video, say "an entirely different subject indeed because what happened next could fundamentally change the entire case"?

That's just weird. How is he able to say that? Sensationalism? Or ... going with the theory that the local press knows stuff we don't before they are "allowed" to report it ... what, indeed, could fundamentally change the entire case?

That is a great video Mel posted! Points out a lot of things I missed watching other videos.

If the A's think the hecklers and protesters were bad 2 summers ago, I highly suspect hecklers to start up again now that Cindy and Lee are forgetting Caylee and sticking up for Casey. That is moo. I stated it that way because what Cindy and Lee did on trial -----is heartbreaking.

After the last couple of times CA was on the witness stand, I think she can forget anybody being sympathetic towards her.

If this is against TOS, please remove the post.

There was an interesting Twitter message yesterday. A woman who works with CA was trying to get ahold authorities. She claimed that supervisors do not fill out time sheets, they must be done by each employee. Also claimed she could prove info CA was claiming on the stand was not true. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I am sure LDB and JA were way ahead of CA and already had all of her work records.

Wow! I hope she is the real thing, and did get ahold of authorities and didn't just tweet about it.

But like you, I also have confidence that LDB and JA are on top of it. I also figure that there will be, during SA's rebuttal case, a computer expert to come on the stand and clarify the timing of those searches....meaning the searches for chloroform, neck breaking, inhalation, household weapons, etc were totally interspersed with the myspace hits minutes apart and all within the same browsing session....and to clarify whether there was a search in the same time period for "chlorophyll" whatsoever.

ETA - oh and what about the fact that nothing had been deleted from that history for as long as they owned the puter, until what, July 16th?! How would ICA know to delete that history if she hadn't been the one to make the searches :waitasec:

Belich- YES. Yuri, I think there might be stuff he wants to say but legally can't. JMO.

BTW, according to wiki perjury is a felony and provides for up to 5 years imprisonment. Hmmmmm.

Is River Cruz still supposed to testify? Did anyone hear whether she is still waiting to be called and in the hall with the others? Just wondering.

I think that is what ICA has been reading all this last week during trial....her script....but i'm jaded like that...

I think she has stuck with him because they have the exact same personality. They both think they can charm anybody into believing anything, and that the rules don't apply to them. They are two peas in a pod.

O/T
LA's testimony and ICA's reaction is so strange to me. Every time I see it again, I can't help but feel something is very very strange.
Mainly I can't keep from trying to figure out ICA's reaction. ICA was genuine crying even down to facial twitching. If you only watch her during LA's testimony, she seems to feel bad FOR Lee, which is unique for ICA, indeed.
But what's also so weird, is as she is listening to LA, at some point she gets a scared wide eyed look on her face- when he is being questioned about why Lee was angry. Like she thought he was going to reveal something she didn't want him to. Then he didn't, and she resumes crying FOR Lee again. Anyone else sort of analyzed ICA's reaction during LA's testimony? I wish I knew what it was she was anticipating him saying.

I have a slightly different take on it. I think they do have a close bond. And I think Lee may be one of the only, strike that, THE ONLY person in the world who really knows Casey. Everyone else knows a phony, imaginary version she showed to the outer world. But Lee truly knew Casey since the day she was born.
So I don't doubt that she felt emotional towards him. But my interpretation of her tears is a little different. I think she was aware that he was 'supposed to' say that the family was worried he was the baby's father. She began crying in anticipation of this BOMBSHELL piece of evidence. They both did. But I believe he loves and appreciates Mallory and his new family life MORE than he does his lying sister and family. So he could not bring himself to say that ugly lie.

I watched it a few times on Replay. When Baez first asks him what made him so angry back then they were both crying. And he said he felt left out. More crying and sobbing. And then Baez says ' Did anything ELSE make you angry at that time?" WATCH CASEY. She STOPPED COLD, like a mannequin, held her breath and watched him intently, just WAITING for that bombshell. Then he replied the same way and she really started crying.

I believe his tears were because he was making the painful choice to turn his back on his families 'orders' to fall on the sword. And her tears were because she does love her brother, and she felt betrayed. He was the closest person in the world to her and he has finally had enough. imoo

I wonder if the meeting could have been nothing more than Casey either being "sick" or too emotionally upset and refusing to give up her right to be in court. That could explain why the deputies came in and got the DT to go back to the holding area. JJHP could have decided not to tell the jury about it so as to not have them hold it against her, since the defense has been the cause of so many delays. I think he is doing everything possible to accommodate her so as not to cause reason for an appeal. Whatever it was couldn't have had anything to do with the SA, because they would be entitled to hear any complaints regarding them. I also believe it has something directly involving Casey.
