Well I have to go to the doctor soon so hopefully they will have HLN on in the waiting room. If not I'm hijacking the tv :rocker:

BBL

Does anyone have this channels link for online? I bookmarked mine and it will not work anymore. Please? I really want to listen to this channel at work.TIA

IMHO I'm not worried at all about how much time the jury is taking to deliberate. They have 7 counts to go through, and a lot of evidence to sort through. It's only right that they take their time and make sure they don't rush to judgement.

In May Chris Coleman's jury took 15 hours over two days to come to three guilty verdicts in his trial for the strangulation deaths of his wife and two sons. That case was all circumstantial as well and what sealed it for that jury was they learned Chris and his mistress lied about when their affair began based on a photo the jury reviewed.

Just a side note regarding the talk about Susan Smith sleeping with guards and Casey possibly being pregnant or having relations....after this trial I would think NO man, boy, person would touch her with a ten foot pole for fear of her claiming some falsehoods. She is self serving in everything she does. Cold and calculating.

JB will be her next target. She will accuse him of everything under the sun including rape, abuse and ineffective council. Mark my words. She will not be done until she destroys everyone around her.

ok i gotta say it - WHAT THE HELL COULD THEY STILL BE TALKING ABOUT ???

I know right? I was thinking about this over the weekend. It has to be close to impossible NOT to discuss this case amongst themselves for the past 6 weeks. So I imagine as soon as they are together and able to discuss it freely, they are really just talking about the case like "could you believe this?" or "what did you think when this happened" - that kind of thing.

All their comments and observations have been bottled up for almost 2 months so I would imagine a lot of chatter happened yesterday. Maybe today is the day they get down to business so to speak.

I would hope they took an immediate poll of where everyone stood. I'm not so much worried about them not getting a unanimous guilty vote, but there maybe a juror or two who is reluctant to say it was Murder 1.

I feel like I can't breathe until this is all over.

HLN- PLEASE get "Breaking News" off of the screen until there IS some breaking news...it is NOT breaking news that the jury is weighing her fate...

Thank you!

My heart stopped twice yesterday when seeing that! :floorlaugh:

Not a big fan of the DT but I do feel for them about one thing. It has to have been exhausting dealing with ICA for three years. I cannot even begin to imagine.

As a smoker, let me tell you - YES IT IS !
So if I'm reading tea leaves - which I am - when they do ask for a special break that might be a great thing. Personaly, i would need one before I went back in to say she was going to get the needle.

o/t - am I the only one who wishes we still used the chair or hanging ? does that make me a little weird ?

Thy still DO use the chair in FL. No hanging, tho.

IF given DP, ICA will be offered choice of needle or electric chair. Her call.

So, Ms Anthony... will that be regular or :gasp: extra crispy?

So it's a bad sign for those of us wanting first degree murder that they dressed up today, right?

I don't think so- seems like one constant about all cases where people try to read the jury is that it's an exercise in futility. It's better not to read anything into anything and just wait (but I am trying to second guess everything too!).

Bill S. still doesn't think verdict will come in today.

9 hours and 3 minutes. Bill S doesn't think verdict will be today

Quoting because this bears repeating. Thanks.

How many really good lawyers would risk taking a job as a prosecutor when they could make so much more in private practice if in the process of discharging their prosecutorial duties they were going to get sued for every case. Without that immunity, multiple lawsuits at the end of the prosecution of crimes would be inevitable. Local governments would have to pay the bill for defense, but verdicts might be against the prosecutor personally. They won't risk their family livelihoods for public service. A change in the law here could really bankrupt local governments and then other services would go away like road maintenance, garbage collection, zoning and haz mat enforcement and the social services for the protection of children, vulnerable elderly persons and the developmentally disabled.
Similar observations can be made for defense attorneys. They may shy away from presenting a vigorous defense if they could be vulnerable to lawsuit by the witnesses. I think the law is where it should be on this issue and hope it stays there.

Oh I don't question that the immunity is there for good purpose and deliberate and valid reason. But there is a difference between a limited task based immunity and the current carte blanche that has developed over the years. The Immunity is granted with the clear understanding that the elevation to the Bar comes with the requirement of certain ethical and behavioral standards. Quite frankly those are not currently being met to any reasonable level. This is what needs a looking at by those who grant or assign that privilege of immunity. How is abuse of that privilege prevented or discouraged? How is the citizenry protected from blatant falsehoods or outright abuse on the part of the bar members? It is not unreasonable to expect that the Bar do police itself as promised. When it becomes obvious that the standards have slipped and this is no longer happening, then those granting the privilege do need to re-evaluate its purpose, its function, its benefits and how to bring the standards back in line.

Totally TMI and OT but what happens if you don't have any money in your jail account? Do they give you $$ for tampons, toothpaste and toothbrush, necessities? Or are you expected to let your teeth rot and bleed everywhere? yuck!!!

All rise for the jury.

HHJP: Members of the jury hope you had a good lunch.

JB: Mrs. Anthony is it fair to say you and Casey are very much alike?

in many ways yes

JB: in fact is that not what you hear often?

in most ways, yes

JB: you raised Case to be a good person, caring, loving?

yes

JB: you raised Casey to always tell the truth.

yes I did

JB: you got to see what kind of mother Casey was?

yes I did, she was a caring mother, a easy quick mothering instinct that was evident as soon as Caylee was born, like me how natural she was with Caylee.

JB: how did Caylee respond to Casey?

Casey adored her mom. Her eyes would light up, she didn't want to sleep without her mom.

JB: Casey went everywhere with KC?

yes

JB: she would cry everytime?

not if I was there, I didn't know if I was gone.

JB: you never witnessed Casey torture or abuse Caylee?

no

19 being in the medical profession you never took her to the gyno?

it is traumatic and I didn't go till I was older, she was having symptoms like me, we are a lot a like in that way.

Okay.....and the point is there was something to hide? I didn't go to a gynocologist until I was 20 when I got pregnant for my first child. That's not amazing to me. Being a nurse, she certainly recognized that her menstrual symptoms were normal because they were very similar to hers. Daughters usually do follow in the same menstrual patterns as the mother. How do I know? Cause I am one.

I think what surprises me most of all at how many believed that lie. The molestation story didn't happen until the other lies were no longer working and about as believable as the accidental drowning and Kronk keeping the body for four months. Ridiculous. As selfish and self-serving as ALL her other behavior was, she wouldn't have stood for one minute of that nonsense even at 8 yrs. old. Now, there's an alleged story that she's been telling inmates at the jail she PG. I'd bet $$ that's another lie trying to put off the death penalty.
