Casey Anthony, jailed in Florida on murder charges related to the murder of her daughter Caylee, has pleaded guilty to check fraud charges today in an Orange County court.

Anthony, wept in court as she was sentenced to 412 days of time served in the fraud case, her sixth felony on record. Anthony admitted to writing 4 checks totalling $650 with a checkbook stolen from friend Amy Huizenga.

So this means JP could sentence her to 4 years tomorrow...what do you think he will do???

4years, something less or let her go scott free???

I have a question. I am a paralegal (not in a criminal law firm), and I have been doing some basic research on double jeopardy. From reading posts on the forum, it appears that this is a done deal. And I'm trying to let go, I really am. However, I work in the legal field, and I feel very disillusioned right now. My career is based in justice, and justice, to me, has failed. It is hard for me to push forward and work in a field that has broken my heart.

I read the following somewhere today: "If the earlier trial is proven to be a fraud or scam, double jeopardy will not prohibit a new trial." Would this mean if the jurors were accused of some kind of misconduct or fraud, another trial could take place?

I feel like I'm grasping at straws here, but I would like to regain a little hope in the system.

Is there anyway to pass on this information to Judge Perry and the prosectuors?

I hope she is sentenced to atleast a year in prison. We need to heal from this.
Will it be televised tomorrow?

Dixiecat, I didn't mean to say cooks or chefs don't have educations. I am sorry.

I am just furious right now. This kind of thing makes you wonder did this guy try to get on the jury for this reason. Seems like he may have had the attorney on notice. It is just sick.

Based on what I have read he didn't even want to be on the jury, but gave no particular reason.

If JP doesn't sentence her to the maximum allowable, I will lose all faith in the justice system. Right now I'm angry at the 12 jurors. I have liked JP throughout this whole trial but I'm now feeling he did rush things.

He needs to throw the book at her, however small the book is. If he doesn't, I fear he will too be on everyone's 🤬🤬🤬🤬 list.

Everyone I'm talking to both online and IRL is feeling the same way. I haven't felt this dizzy and shocky since 9/11.

I said the same thing today. I feel this horrible panic and anxiety from this. I had to leave the house today for 3 hours with my son to get my mind off it but I still had the iPod and checked twitter, ws and Facebook. I feel a tremendous amount if devastation that is hard to describe. I know living through all of this with you Guys the last 3 years makes me feel that I am Not alone.:(

I just can't figure out who to be mad at........lol. JB? ICA? The A's? The jury? The cat for knocking the flour off the counter? WHO??????????????

I apologize if this has already been addressed or if I'm posting this in the wrong thread. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what (if anything) is going to happen with Baez. Didn't he violate several rules (I distinctly remember him violating rules of discovery) during the trial and didn't Judge Perry say his violations would be dealt with after the trial?

This verdict has left me stunned. Caylee deserved so much more. I am heartbroken. It would be a small comfort to see the smug grin knocked off JB's face for a while.

You are correct. I think there were two separate instances. He should not get away with this!

This is what I keep thinking about Roxy Roller, if the jury wasn't *true* then surely nobody can say that justice has been *true*.
There seems to be be so many questions about this jury, the issue that the court clerk brought up in front of the media about the TV contamination is HUGE to me.
A jury should not be let go with no questions asked ,if in fact there appear to be big ones that * should * be asked. How can anybody be sure of justice in any case when there are so many questions of conduct?
I fear for a lack of confidence in jurors if these questions aren't taken seriously.

About this being a fraud or scam, I have had a horrible feeling since People magazine put out an issue with the headline "Getting Away with Murder" that somehow this acquittal was a foregone conclusion, that somehow somebody had paid off the jury so that the media could make the biggest bucks possible off this horrible murder, and that it's an open secret. The DT celebration like they won the lottery reinforced this. Anybody else for a big conspiracy theory?

Nope, not me.

I know we would all like ICA to get the max, but JP will do the right thing for the guilty charges. I don't he'll take it upon himself to punish her extra since he truly may believe she got away with murder... It sure would make a lot of people happy though!

I don't think so...4 years is the max for the lying to police and she was not a convicted felon at that time in July 2008. And she has served since Jan 2010 (when the check charges part was done) so that leave 2.5 years max, less the 15% for good time...so maybe close to 2 years if he wants to make her serve it all...this is what I got from legal thread anyway...

Jean C. just said that she looked it up and the most Casey can still serve is two years, if the judge imposes the 4-year max, when you account for the time she has already served since the check fraud case. That is what I read in the legal thread here as well. I think she will get a year or more.
