Alex Ferrer, a former criminal judge in Miami, said on Fox News that when jurors deliberate, they sometimes leave behind their common sense.

As a judge, Ferrer said he has seen many not-guilty verdicts when it was clear to him that the defendant was guilty.

Many commentators have said we must respect the findings of the jury and not second guess their decision. That is pure baloney. If we are to maintain our system of laws, we should respect the jury system.
In the Casey Anthony case, the jury failed at its job, and a murderer went free.

So it was with the verdict in the murder trial of Casey Anthony.

Can I sneak in here and ask if anyone has a link to HLN online streaming? Mine has expired from when it was bookmarked. Please?
TIA

IIRC, wasn't this LDB's biggest fear in her closing statements!

Yup. Clearly she was right but I also think the jurors(mainly the foreman) took offense to that. It was once again the prosecution being mean to them and they'll show the State.

Wonder how many of the 12 jurors are having 2nd thoughts about their decision now. Are there any now saying to themselves " I should have given it more deliberation...I should have revisited each piece of evidence...I should have stuck to my guns and not caved under the pressure of group dynamics..." In my opinion, I am guessing at least a few are struggling with that and kicking themselves now.
How, if there are any that are 2nd guessing themselves now, do they ever get over that...what's done is done...

The last few days I have really been wondering about Casey's mental health.

She has spent 3 years in solitary confinement.

I think there is a good chance she is nutty as a fruitcake from it.

Just one article I looked at. There are lots of them.

I have wondered about her mental status as well. I have NO sympathy for her, but would assume prison has altered her thinking process. I noticed how she always walked into the courtroom with one arm stiffly extended, sort of leaning to that side. Seemed to me she varied which arm led... some days it was the left, others, the right. That looked like very odd body language to me. I don't know what prison could have done to her psyche, but I'll bet she will suffer from it.

I also wonder if eventually her guilt will get to her. You can't bury murder (accidental or not) from your conscience forever. I think she will always carry what she did with her.

I just had a terrible thought... will ICA go visit the remains sight when she gets out... OMG, that would be something she would do I bet.

Honestly, you think that? I am sure she hasn't even given that a thought.

That one story says, the foreman has an overwhelming thought that he may have let people down..REALLLY!!Where did you get that idea dude?

I don't know if she would do or not but I put nothing past her...and I always try to think out of the box when it comes to her and things surrounding her... I try to think...what is the last thing you would expect to happen and then that is usually what happens. (exaggerating but close)
So, it just popped into my head that she would love the attention it would draw and JB would spin it that she wanted to pay her respects...
I almost think it is plausible.

BBM. That is soooooooo true.

Who owns the land where the remains were found (I can't believe I don't know the answer to that?)
TIA

I only know who doesn't own it.

Check here: http://www.ocpafl.org/searches/ParcelSearch.aspx##

I typed in the street name, clicked search and I 'think' it's the first name on the list. Not positive, tho. And I don't want to post the owner's name unless I find a news link to his name.
