On her birthday, friends and family remember slain Bonita doctor

On a Tuesday 47 years ago, Dr. Teresa Sievers was born Teresa Tottenham at Griffin Hospital in the small town of Derby, Connecticut. She was a fussy baby. Her 6-year-old sister wondered if there was maybe something wrong with her, but their mother just explained that babies couldn't talk, so they had to cry when they were hungry.

That was their Teresa: She made noise, she never went unnoticed, she wasn't afraid to ask for what she deserved.

"She just always knew what she wanted," said her older sister, Annie Tottenham Lisa. "She was just this magical, no BS kid. She never changed in her demeanor. She was no pretenses."

lots more at link.

What a beautifully written piece. Recommended reading.

Sending love ~ light ~ hope ~ and ~ prayers to Teresa's family, friends,
patients and to everyone who knew and loved this incredible woman, on what would have been her 47th birthday.
She worked so hard for those she loved, and her glowing light will live on through the hearts of her beautiful daughters. xoxo

Welcome to the forum, FTT1.

NDN has added photos that I did not see on my first read this morning.

Teresa Tottenham Sievers in an undated family photo. (Submitted Photo)

3 more at Naples Daily News link, including a charming baby photo of Dr. Sievers that I plan to size edit and post this evening (unless someone beats me. )

Thinking of Dr. Sievers' family and friends as we all honor her today.

Not beating you, KateB, just saving you some time. :)

Teresa Ann and her dad, the late John Elmer Tottenham. May they both rest in peace - together.

Teresa sounded like a physician I would have learned a lot from as an RN. I wish our paths would have crossed when I was in SWF. May her light shine on and be a beacon for others looking to improve healthcare.

Happy belated Doc.

They have been caught. And we are still speculating on other possibles. Rest easy. And guide the girls through their dreams. R.i.p

Dedicated to Teresa's mother Mary Ann Groves, who instilled in her children that they could do anything. Of course Teresa took that up a notch and proved that she could do "everything." You are loved Mrs. Groves, and our hearts are with you :heartbeat:
