22-year-old lying in the road ran over by 2 cruisers

Well the news channel stated again that Gerald was killed by the cruiser. They have to wait at least 6 weeks for the toxicology report. The 2 troopers are on voluntary leave. VSP is not ruling out a medical condition or an assault prior to hid death. One of the troopers drove to New York to see Gerald's family. There was not much said other than that.

The owner of the Dover Bar and Grill where Gerald was employed stated that Gerald had just got off work and was walking home.

What a shame the poor thing was just trying to start a new life and this happens, right before Christmas of all times. His poor family must be heartbroken.

I wonder if he was suicidal for laying in the road, that's unheard of..
I can see if the first trooper was checking his rearview mirror to make sure the other was behind him and then realized there was a body in the road and couldn't stop in time; the second officer too close behind the first to stop either (especially if the first one put on the brakes and the second didn't realize why he was stopping).

The trooper did not need to look in his rearview mirror because it was 2:50 am when it happened. The trooper would not even have to look in the mirror to know that the other trooper was behind him, all of the locals said that the road is straight. It is hard to watch the news on this because the local people are very angry about this.
It is not hard not to see something in the road here at night. I feel bad for the Troopers.
