I agree, that's why the debit charges are critical. But don't forget to step back and look at the big picture too.
Why was he in that area to begin with? Please don't say religious or philosophical jaunt....1200 miles? Broke. Something very 'important' to him in my book.

ITA. I also exclude the "touring graveyards for geneaology" excuse. There's no real reason to research his family history; likely everyone else in the family has done the same research and performed the same baptisms for the dead, over and over and over.

He went to the growing-up home of a woman he'd dated in 2008, where he'd spent a spring weekend, with a group of people. Did he want a job on the ranch? Did he hope to see AN there? Did he feel the need to talk to her parents? Did something that happened at the temple the night before, drive some curiosity?

Even IF he went to Ruby Valley as a side trip (rather than the actual destination) , it's a long way off the road for a side trip.

I'm curious whether he regularly visited those people or not. Whether he'd been there since he broke up with AN. OR...was this such an out-of-the-blue unexpected visit that it took them by surprise?

The only thing I could find in common with activities between Josh and Steven...they were both building/marketing websites.

...with the same (ie, little) success.

Josh's websites were actually better than Steven's (which were the boilerplate fill-in-the-blanks type prescribed by matchbin, his employer). Steven's actual job was selling the advertising that the sites were based on.

Lay, I'm keeping that timeline possibilty in *storage*---but will wait until we have conclusive evidence.

I'll leave the decision to put the theory on the timeline up to you. I didn't realize that all the theories presented there had a full blown scenario to back them up...? If people would do this with the ones proposed we would have more to bite on.

That's what the scenarios page is for: proposing a theory, and posting the for/against. Testing it.

In this case, I'd rather someone else came up with scenario, data for, and data against.

Deming:
I threw the name in, just because we used to teach his theories, 25 years ago....and when we mentioned "thinking outside the box", a worker came to us the next day with a 1950s "management" book. He thought it was funny we were trying to teach him something that was 25 years old, then...and it had nothing to do with Deming ;)
What's old comes around again. TOTB now twice in my lifetine.

Bump for Steven Koecher. Family is organizing a search for him on April 10th also. Tip that what may be remains may be near Executive Airport in Henderson, NV.

Another thing in common between these two people who gave so much to others. Both gone too long. Both having a strong and lasting spiritual presence with us. :praying:

St. George police detectives even met with their counterparts in West Valley City, Utah, but ruled out any connection to the case of Susan Cox Powell, the mother who disappeared under suspicious circumstances about the same time Steven went missing, Rolf Koecher said.

Requesting a prayer from all for both at 8:00 AM tomorrow regarding the searches. Being of one mind.

Friends and Family Facebook site reports a new search effort for Susan being organized for June 2010. Apparently interested parties can attend a search effort training course to get them up to speed before participating.

So Stephen and Josh Powell now publicly suggest that Susan ran off with Steven Koecher, abandoning her children in the process?

I read SP's 9 page letter to the FBI (via link from Josh's site), my favorite part was where he suggested that SK has avoided recognition by wearing a hat. Seriously.

Goodness me, he goes into great and tedious detail about how Susan and SK could have travelled to Brazil in various ways, and how Susan had use of the Powells' minivan on many days (contrary to what everyone else tells us).

In order for Susan to go off with SK, she apparently hid out in a safehouse for several days until he could come and pick her up. The safe house would of course have to be a neighbor or known associate.

SP ties himself into knots trying to propose possible scenarios where his dear Josh is the victim, a cuckolded and unsuspecting husband who has been abandoned. Susan, apparently, had been cooking up her plan for ages, and waiting for the ideal time to light the fuse. Thew ideal time, according to the Powells, was the early hours of a Sunday morning during a snowstorm.

Ahem. If Susan wished to abscond, with or without her children, she could simply have driven off in the van on a day when she had just dropped Josh off at work. She could have emptied the Powell bank account (since she allegedly had the debit card). She could have met SK (if that were her plan) anywhere they chose, and driven on in either of their vehicles to a departure point for Brazil. They could have abandoned the unwanted vehicle in a place where it wouldn't be spotted for weeks (e.g. a 24-hour WalMart parking lot), rather than a quiet cul-de-sac where it got attention immediately.

SP makes a poor conspiracy theorist, but then he has had to start with a lot of difficult-to-explain-away material. When all else fails, Josh's behavior is explained away as "just being Josh".

I read SP's 9 page letter to the FBI You are a better person than I..I prefer autobiographies to historical fiction.

great and tedious detail HA HA

a cuckolded and unsuspecting husband Who clearly has a Peter Pan complex IMHO

SP makes a poor conspiracy theorist, Have you heard his singing, it's even worse. IMHO

It's interesting that someone who has so many mouths to feed has free time to :puke: so many words.
