ELMIRA, N.Y. (AP) — A fire tore through a home, spewing flames from the windows and killing four children, neighbors said.

The four victims had been pulled from the burning upstate New York home by firefighters and medics but died later.........

The cause and circumstances of the fire were under investigation.


Children said to be from 5 to 15 years old. No mention of parents or caretakers. Were they alone?

Paula Parker, who owns the house at 104 Morrow St. along with her husband, Robert, is an aunt of the victims........

Parker identified the victims as Courtney Stanton, 17, Amera Mansour, 10, Nidel “N.J.” Mansour, 7, and Jordan Mansour, 5.......

“Tina [the mother] had just left the house (before the fire). The oldest one is almost 18, and she was there with the kids,” Parker said. “Tina is a mess. We brought her up here to our camper. Yesterday, I took her to the funeral home to make arrangements. She’s not eating, not sleeping after losing four kids all at the same time. Right now she just wants to get through this.”........
