It's hard to conclude anything based on stand silent approach. Probably just keeping his/their options open.

The real interesting part is the gag order arguements.

Stupid question. But why?
Latah County has about a 40K population, with Moscow about 26K of that. They moved the Vallow trial from Rexburg/Madison Co. when they had population of about 35K/54K to get an impartial jury.

I apologize if this has been addressed. Was any of BKs family members in attendance? I've only see mention of the victim's family, but haven't had a chance to read every post. I'm working through them all trying to catch up!

BK's family may have opted for remote viewing.

We also didn't hear mention of Ethan's or Xana's family members being in the courtroom, although they may have been there, or they may have choosen remote viewing instead.

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, so far/at this time, I agree with you that BK had a fascination with the act of murder, rather than the murder of those he targeted.
I think it was a mixture of both. He a had a fascination with murder and was educated in that realm. But it was coupled with his simmering anger and resentment towards the popular clique that terrorised him as a kid. JMO

I think there is lots of underwear handling on college campuses. I find it a pretty big reach to assume that BK travelled to Pullman/Moscow and was the person who went through this student’s belongings. I have read police logs over the years from colleges and weird stuff happens on the regular. If an investigative reporter could link a BK visit to the area with the same timeframe, that would be a different story. Right now, it’s interesting but unconnected.
I haven't heard anything to suggest BK did it. :) I just said I would not take that as a prank. I realize young people play pranks on campus, although I do wonder if underwear pranks would be "ok" in the #metoo era.

If someone moved my luggage out of the car, stuff from the car into the luggage, then at least one thing from the luggage back into the car, I would feel very much the same as I would if someone broke into my house and moved things around in such a way that I couldn't help but notice. And I would most definitely feel threatened. MOOooo
