Crikey, they must be desperate for jurors!

It may be an old English colonial act, but I'm pretty sure it's never happened in England in modern times.

It would make people angry that their freedom and privacy (when they're out shopping) had been invaded.

I wonder how these Canadians took it?

There would have been a national outcry in England.

I can't tell you the number of times I have been summoned for jury duty here in Massachusetts. Then of course, I have had people tell me they have never been summoned. I actually did serve on a jury ONCE. I ended up being an alternate, and didn't get to sit in on deliberations, but did agree with the outcome . Unfortunately, its only been a few years and I can hardly remember what it was abouto_O:eek:
