Hi guys!!! I don't know if AZGiGi and hubby made it to the hearing-it was supposed to be closed initially to the general public, but the judge opened it at the request of the media that attended.

Mr. Walker pled guilty, BUT not under his legal id-yes folks, he claimed he was prevented from giving his actual name and FULL CORRECT birthdate under the advice of his attorney.

So he pled guilty under an alias.

This was the first step in a few more steps-bigger charges ARE being worked on-the key may be writing a new law to fill in the loophole Mr. Walker's case made glaringly evident-also a heads up-this is an election year for the judge...we need to keep up the pressure in the media to make sure this does not just drift away....

There is a measure of peace for the family this evening, and for that I am glad. All are being adequately counseled and represented at this point, and I will use the other threads to detail what is available to share about how they are all REALLY doing.

HUGS to all of you for a GREAT JOB!

Thank you for keeping us in the loop here! I'm glad to hear that the family is being taken care of and that we are getting closer and closer to justice for Tawni!

So are you saying none of his known aliasis are his real name? or he pled under AF?

I'm usually concerned about new laws as they aren't usually retroactive. In this case, we have a decade min to overcome when we have already been told the statute of limitations has excluded so much....

I'm glad media pressure made the hearing available to the public! whoo hoo!

I'm glad the family feels some 'peace'.

On another note, did anyone notice the media link has been updated with a pic of WW? (does he have cleavage or is it just me? ) He looked a little wimpy , like oh chit :chicken: I best be kissing some arse.
LDJ was scared of THAT?

I HOPE the judge sees through this... and just by chance do we know if each jurisdiction he has been in trouble with over the last decade are aware of each others cases and the numerous aliases?

:behindbar:behindbar:behindbar:behindbar:behindbar

thank you believe! :blowkiss:

Thank you, believe!!! Wow - so many factors in play here! I sincerely hope that Tawni's family has decent legal representation who know their way around the system and can lead the family - and us! - to a real resolution to this case.

I think he looks like he is gay but I am sure that's just his nice guy act. When does he go back to court again? He plead guilty to probation violation and leaving the state I don't think they can add any more charges once he is sentenced.

Oh! They can definitely add new charges in relation to Tawni's case! The fact that he pled guilty to the probation violation and skipping tells me he's trying soooooooooo hard to avoid additional charges. I hope and pray there are folks here who will not let his involvement in Tawni's death go unpunished!

I have to say this...when her mom said "we were looking for her for a long time" what exactly did she mean? We as in us here at ws or her family, doesn't seem like she looked for her much. Sorry but I had to say it.

I agree Auburnmommy - she was easy to find. As a matter of fact - she is STILL listed on the NCMA site for UID's. Makes me sick! Why is she still there???

Has anyone heard anything about LDJ lately, was she involved with the hearing at all?

Well I shoulda stayed home. More info on here than I got at the courthouse.

My hubbie and I arrived about 9 am at the courthouse. Outside the courtroom are about 7-8 posted pages with the accused's names. Probably about 150+ names. Alonzo Fernandez is the very last name on the lists. ( The court clerk had told me on the phone that judge see's the cases in order of severity. ) Looks like he'll be the last person heard.
Hubbie and I sit thru 3.45 hours of cases.
We are the last two people sitting there in the courtroom, Alonzo must me next. Yay. But we don't see Michael jr, Sr or Debbie. Hmmmm where ARE they?! Judge asks who we are and why we're sitting there. I tell her. Oh she says, they had an early session for that because there were cameras in the courtroom. BUMMER

On a postivie note, I will say that she is a no nonsense judge and the majority of the cases were deferred to a later (lotsa 3rd and even 4th pre-trial hearing dates) but the cases that she did sentencing for were ALL THE MAXIMUM. She is one tough cookie. So if I had to guess based on Judge Vanderpool, I would bet that AF gets the maximum 4 years.

I am sorry that I didn't get to see the plea in person, but am so glad that there is a court appointed advocate attorney to help the family. Sorry I didn't get to meet the family too but they know we love them and are behind them. Oh and my Tawni Lee shirt was cute too.

I'm sorry I didn't post any info until now, it was a 4 hour drive home and then I feel asleep.

That was so nice of you and your husband to drive all of the way there and back. It's a shame you had to sit there for all of that time. Bless you for going. It's too bad there aren't more people in this world like you!! :blowkiss:

Well thank you T. It was definitely an eye-opener sitting in the courtroom. I have been on a jury trial, and watched trials but never this part of the courts. My hubbie and I both wondered how much it was costing taxpayers. Our heads were spinning thinking about the Judge's pay, court appointed attys, probation officers, court clerk, court reporter, court deputy, the screeners at the door, the air conditioning, the building rent etc etc etc.
Whew! It's a lotta money when someone commits a crime. ALOT.

Three-Dollar Bill.... I LOVE IT!

:floorlaugh:

Something else that has bothered me. When it was reported that he was going to let her out of the car after he was done 'pimping her' and it was explained to LE that meant talking to her, I always thought the slang word for talking was 'holler', or does pimping also have the same meaning?

Oh wow, Bless your heart for making such a long drive and sitting through 3.5 hours of cases. I sure wish you could have been there to see the plea in person too. Thanks for the additional info on the judge, that is good to know!

Can we see a pic of the t-shirts if it isn't too much of an inconvenience?

I think they can be used interchangeably. When I hear "pimping" I'm thinking.. turning someone or something different, or better. Like "Pimp my ride".. it started out one way, and then it turned into something different. So, I think what she meant was Alonzo was trying to recruit her into becoming a prostitute, implying that Tawni was NOT yet a prostitute.

And FWIW, Alonzo looks like a black woman that I knew in my choir group. :waitasec:

Thank you for taking the time to drive out there anyway, AZGIGI! :blowkiss:

I never thought about all that before. Good question, though. You're right, it does cost a lot of money when someone decides to break the law and gets caught, or even if they don't..

Was the term "Pimp my ride" or something similiar used in the late 90's? I thought that was a newer term. The who knows... I'm old and have to ask the kids those things... IMO, LE should have been aware of some of that slang, common sense.

LOLOLOL! He's going to be singing and wishing he were a saint soon.
