Child Protections Stories:

OMG! This reads like, "I can't find my kid. Oh, well, he'll eventually come home."

Not defending these parents, but there are lots of pathologically uncontrollable kids out there. You'd be surprised.
Most end up in locked residential treatment facilities... Where they somehow manage to escape on a regular basis. I will say most aren't only 9 years old. But many parents live in fear of their violent, aggressive children. Help isn't as easy to get and you might think.

Before somebody gets hurt, this child should be removed from home and placed somewhere they can keep track of him.

It is obvious that they have not been parenting this child,let alone controling him.Instead of passing him off to others,they need to step up and be a parent. It requires more than spanking,it requires time and effort.I do not think these parents are invoved in his life.My impression is there is no example set. I mean not even a phone call to the friends house or a care why he did not return from a chore.

Did you read how aggressive he was with police? The police probably cuffed him and shackled him to a bench. You know what happens if a parent does that to keep their child inside? The parents are arrested.

IMO this kid isn't like your kid or my kid.

Hopefully he will get the help he needs. But I wouldn't bet money on it. Prisons are brimming with children that were at one time just like him.

It appears the boy was FIRST in a shelter, then became aggressive...

I wonder if he's still hospitalized.

Why would the parents have him seeing a therapist and then decline family assessment sevices?I may have to change my opinion and say maybe he does need meds.

Maybe meds would help, but it still seems to me the boy was just let loose, was running wild w/o consequences, and had no respect for authority or laws.

I would like to know the reaction of the parents when he came home after being absent so many times. How can they THINK he was PROBABLY spending the night at his friend's house?

Who were the friend's parents who would allow the boy to spend multiple nights with them? Did they feed him? Discipline him? Seems odd.

Pretty soon he will be 10 years old. At this time he can be declared juvenile delinquent and dealt by juvenile justice system. Considering his prior behavior, I have very little doubt that is going to happen.

I learn more and more a little at a time about this child. For lack of better termss he is a wild one. I've never heard of a 9 year old wondering the city alone at all hours of the day and night. Never heard of one stealing a truck and never ever heard of one just up and walking onto a plane like he did.
He imo needs a proper mental exam. Sounds like a child who needs meds. IMOO

Probably his son's identity since the son is a minor.

Most likely, every kid in his class knows the boy's identity, as does every teacher, custodian, and cafeteria worker in the school. Every person he spent nights with knows who he is. LE knows his name, as do social workers. (Juvenile detention will probably know next year.)

The airport store where the mother works probably knows; if the dad took the boy to work with him, certain there are people who know there.

The dad can run, but he really can't hide.

The boy is back in Minneapolis; his hearing is Tuesday. Meanwhile, he's in custody of Hennepin Co, whatever that means.
