9-year-old's lemonade stand robbed by BB gun-toting suspect: Police

A 9-year-old North Carolina boy running a lemonade stand was robbed by an armed suspect Saturday, police said.

The boy was selling lemonade in Monroe, about 25 miles from Charlotte, when he was approached by a teen who stuck what appeared to be a handgun to the boy's stomach, demanded money and fled on foot, the Union County Sheriff's Office said.

The boy had less than $20 in cash on him, police spokesman Tony Underwood told ABC News affiliate WSOC.

Woah - that is crazy! I can see how this could have gone South for the teenager - real fast if someone with a "bigger" gun saw him pull that BB gun on the little guy. Like a parent that is armed.

Oh, come on. This is utterly ridiculous.

Probably get his wrist slapped. In Canada, nothing would be done about it.

While searching for the suspect, deputies found a trail that led into the woods where the hat, a black-colored BB handgun and a stolen metal tin containing the boy's cash were recovered, police said.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

Baddie suspect finally arrested!

The suspect's identity was being withheld under North Carolina law. Detectives working with the state's Department of Juvenile Justice obtained petitions charging the juvenile with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
Thank God for that!
I am loving your kooky crime reporting threads.

Some kids are hard working entrepreneurs and some are headed a whole different direction. smh Maybe the perp will take this opportunity to change his direction.
