A chance encounter led to Karr's arrest - merged

  • #21
I had heard about the chance encounter yesterday, and all I could think was what would be the odds that a Boulder reporter would run into her actual killer in Paris France?

If he did he should play the lottery.

I think that Karr has been talking to every soul in the world and few were listening.

Hey, you never know. It isn't that illogical when you think about it in the context of Karr wandering the Earth dropping hints to everyone about it.

Whether you believe it or not, it appears that it happened and that is how Karr was introduced to Tracey. The reporter was a friend of Tracey and he was the source that introduced Karr to Tracey. Now if you want to dispute that fact, given quotes from the reporter himself that could be easily refuted by Tracey, go ahead.

Fantastic cooincidence? Perhaps. Karma? Could be.

calus_3,

Or a clever use of an obsessed individual by media savvy professionals who have photographs, articles and books to sell.

This has the smell of an organised sting all over it, I'm just waiting for the books and fakeumentaries to roll out, proclaiming scoop!

If JMK was so clever at hiding all his traces and connections to the Ramsey household, why go and tell a complete stranger?

It has been mentioned that JMK wanted to speak or meet with PR in May.

If JB was my child, I would have immediately insisted that we speak by phone. PR knew she didn't have much time left, and if there was a chance that JMK murdered
JB, I believe she would have left no stone unturned to speak with him. Did she know that JMK did not kill JB, and that is why there was no phone call?

Michael Tracey is a fraud - he has made a false documentary, and I believe he has probably been playing mind games with everyone. I have to wonder how much of what he knows about this case he presented to JMK? Remember he has always been on the side of the Ramseys.

Michael Tracey has all these E-Mails. They will either be brought forth in his book, or a documentary. He will be known as the man who turned in JMK, even if JMK is not the perp.

More than any other person Michael Tracey has used this innocent child to inflate his bank account. Shame on him.

So what you are saying is that Tracey and this reporter searched the world over to find the perfect person to cop to the crime so that they could sell documentaries and articles about it? They finally found someone delusional enough to take the rap for them. They fed him priviliged information for years on the off chance that he would absorb it, believe it, and start to put himself there. So he finally is ready, Tracey takes the information to the po-po. Now Tracey faces various charges of probably something along the lines of witness tampering, obstruction, or something of the kind. All on the hopes that this guy isn't going to hit prison, realize it isn't a fun place to be, and then start singing like a canary that Tracey framed him.

While I certainly believe that it is in the realm of possibiliities that Tracey could have given Karr information, it is absurd to think that they could get Karr to confess and hold the confession. Likewise, in this plan, Tracey had darned well better hope there isn't any information that clearly excludes Karr so that he can be convicted.

Sorry, I am not buying that one.

As for why Karr told a stranger, I think Karr wanted and needed to get caught. Look at the kids who get caught for vandalizing the local schools....they aren't caught because of evidence, they are caught because they just can't stand for no one to know what they did. I think, if Karr was the one who did it and not a confident of the real killer, we will find out that Patsy's death had much to do with it.

Ummm, these are your words....."This has the smell of an organised sting all over it, I'm just waiting for the books and fakeumentaries to roll out, proclaiming scoop!". Not mine.

I thought you were talking about Tracey being the planter of the information.....If not, apologies.

This was like the time that I got away with the Senior prank in High school. It wasn't enought to get away with it......others had to KNOW that I got away with it. Otherwise, there is no pleasure in it.

It seems to me that this guy was trying to get caught for years....almost dating back to the point where it became clear that they weren't looking for him. It was almost as if he was trying to come clean to the crime, without actually saying it, and no one would listen to him and connect the dots. I think he was feeding them bits and pieces, almost waiting for the 'Aha' moment when the recipient acknowledges that he did it.

It almost seems like Karr was surprised that he wasn't caught. I think, honestly, that 10 years of the world not knowing what he did was eating at him. Many of these so-called masterminds just can't stand it when they actually do pull off the perfect crime and get away with it. Look at the BTK killer....why contact anyone after so long and chance getting caught? Because people had forgotten about him. We are up against the 10 year anniversary of the case and I think it is fair to say that everyone (DA, police, investigators, US) had all settled into their Ramseys did it camp or intruder did it camp and assumed that the case had gone cold, never to be solved. I think the common consensus for the RDI camp was that any chance at knowing the truth was gone. I think for the IDI camp, any hope of the police rooting them out was gone. I think the police had two people assigned to the case and I think that was just for show.

I think, honestly, the death of Patsy is what made Karr come out and start trying to get himself caught...again, assuming it is actually he who did it. I think he was both intent on getting his credit for it and for having elluded police for so long. I think he also felt he wanted to clear Patsy once and for all. I also think this was Karr's way of revisiting the scene of the crime.

I still think the DA has much we don't know about.

Cal

Really good post, and I sure hope you're right that the DA has much we do not yet know about.

SuperDave, lol, hope you weren't in the tree house when it fell apart!
