A small plane has crashed into building in NYC...

God, this is sick-making.

On the one hand, they said they found luggage. On the other, one station is reporting the plane may have made a 90 degree right-hand turn into the building.

There's probably no way of telling, but maybe the pilot had a heart attack or something?

FAA say it's a small general aviation plane.

I just talked to my friend who lives in NYC, but not near this site, and she just keeps saying "I can't believe it, I can't believe it". You can just hear that she's scared. :(

:( I can't even imagine that feeling! I'm glad he's ok.
Thank you. I am wondering how many people are experiencing post traumatic stress from 9/11 with this plane crash. Crazy how one thing can just bring you right back to a certain feeling. The sounds of sirens are overwhelming.

I think the stock market will tank tomorrow, no matter what the outcome.

On CNN an eyewitness who is a pilot said he saw the plane fly into the building and he got the impression the pilot was doing their best to avoid the accident.

No reports of a missing plane....origin of the plane a mystery.

I pray to God this is an accident. I can't imagine this happening to us again.

Just heard this is a luxury high rise. I'm assuming that it must be mainly residential. The top eight floors have been cleared with no serious injuries on those floors. Two deaths reported thus far.

These poor NYorkers...their voices (the ones who are calling in to CNN) are shaking so bad...one fatality so far.,,,, NORAD has scrambled the jets to a few major cities...thats scary.... and its 10-11 one month from 9-11

Apparently fighter jets were deployed over several US cities.

There was a stock sell off which now has leveled out. DJ down about 10 points or so.

Regardless of what happened, I like how some things have seemingly been corrected since last time. I am sure that the NYPD and NYFD have new standards and procedures regarding something of this nature, especially evacuation procedures for the buildings. Also the scrambling of the airplanes is a nice precaution...you just never know.

If this was an accident, I guess you can say this was a good practice run to test out the new systems.

They're saying the bottom two floors housed medical facilities. I also read that this is a pet friendly building :(

Now they've said it came from Teterboro airport, in NJ. There was luggage or something with some kind of tags that said White Plains, NY.

Teterboro? I wonder if it is a private or corporate plane.
