JM is on a roll, and I'd bet dimes to donuts he has probably subpoenaed the sales slips from the gas station for that night, and that there will show a purchace for gas for that amount at that time on the slips.

Some one posted earlier in this thread you can only buy gas at the station at that time cuz the store is closed between 1am to 6am

One final note for tonite (maybe lol). It was kind of a mystery to all of us why Nurmi passed the ball for the last few remaining minutes to Martinez at the end of the day. It was odd, not expected. Almost like he was doing an intentional fumble. Did it read like that to the rest of you?

With his slow motion Nurmambic Pentameter he surely could have nurmed up a few more slow drawn out questions but he kind of quickly ended up and tossed it to Juan. WHy I wonder?
Beth thought it was maybe cuz he wants all his experts together for a 4 day stretch. But that means 2 full days next week of....Juan crossing these jury questions? (ok that would send me in to some kind of pop rock heaven if you get my drift) But...anyway, kind of an unsolved mystery.

You know, I think it had something to do with the last sidebar before he (abruptly, IMO) quit his nurming. It looked like (to me, from home) that the judge was telling him to hurry the F up...

It seemed that she was speaking directly to him, Juan was sort of off to the side, and I could almost but not quite read her lips. But if I had to put money on it, I think he was told to move it along or else...

Read on another site someone suggested that she may have had it strapped to her leg with that mysterious piece of duct tape that was photographed in the bathroom.

Maybe that's where she got the idea of a holster. I think we may have seen the duct tape on T's arm when he was in bed, though.

KCL, pay close attention to her giving hand signals when her hands are folded over eachother and signals hand to face to Jodi. Until, of course when he laid the bombshell and her head snapped to the right looking at the her screen and she never looked back. You know she is thinking how am I suppose to convince this jury now that she doesn't deserve to die..

There was an earlier sidebar (during Nurmi's questions) where the judge just said something quickly to Nurmi. JM walked away looking pleased, Nurmi shook his head and Wilmott had a big grin on her face

It was puzzling, but then I guessed Judge Stevens told Nurmi "Keep it brief."

That is so offensive when she does that. I was hoping a juror would do a followup on all the offensive **** she says.

"Please answer yes or no. Do you realize how it comes off as diminishing to the slaying of Mr. Alexander's when you say he 'passed away' or when you say you that after you left the house you were thinking 'oh crap' something bad happened. Especially when you say it in a tone as though you were ordering a Frappucino?"

BS she didn't feel jealous re: Mimi..another example of a sociopath missing the right note on their guess at normal human emotions.

Based on body language alone I think as early as Wednesday morning when we first saw him with the questions he looked somewhat defeated -- even panicky. Then things went from bad to worse.

He had no idea how much his client would be exposed once the questions were asked. Moreover he got his first glimpse into the real concern the jurors expressed about his clients lack of credibility. A defense attorney's worst nightmare.

But it was more that just the shocking realization that the jurors didn't believe his client. The wording of some of the questions revealed that they were also clearly disdainful and hostile towards her.

This ending of the day was like the Superbowl and some other kind of major event I can't think of right now where your team hits it out of the park in an unexpected steal at the very end.

I walk out and immediately see PASA, Katie, Stacy and we all pile in an elevator all with the same feeling. We all are containing tIhis physical feeling of wanting to JUMP FOR JOY!!! We are all on the same page. This was just out of this world amazing the feelng we all had.

We walk out and some camera man wants to interview Katie..and Stacy too so while he is inteviewing K, we look around and STacy and I hold hands like two little girls and jump up and down in front of the court house. I had to..I was going nuts! I wanted to turn a cartwheel!

T's family comes out and we all get BIG HUGS> Samantha and Tanisha hug me so hard and have such huge smiles. This was like...I can't even describe it. We talk to them for a loonnnggg time in front of the courthouse. A few court nuts come around but we basically ignore them. I don't really post private conversations with the familiy but let me just say there were hugs and smiles ALL around and we agreed this was a huge game changer today. What a way to go in to this long weekend! For the family, us and the JURY!!!

Maybe just jubilance to get out for the long weekend. I did notice a change when Juan got up. The entire energy of the whole courtroom changes, period. Jurors, everyone.

No irritation from the Judge.

No change in Jodi's mom that I could see.

No winks or chats today. But I tell you what, I resisted a serious urge to stand up at the end and give him a standing ovation. I seriously felt this in my body with every cell. Like it would have been a natural response to this kind of brilliance. I wasn't the only one feeling this way either. I can't impress the energy of his entire last half hour in there.

my husband and I started clapping at the screen when Jaun finished. The electricity and adrenalin was palpable around the world from everyone watching

Brava Katiecoolady! Morning reader here! I had to take my cat to the vet from 3:30 to 5:00 PM and DVR'd HLN to watch when I got back. Turned out there was no need as I managed to catch the sudden ending of the nap-o-rama-lie-fest Nurmi and Jodi were producing.

Your notes totally filled me in and I've deleted HLN programs. I'll zip through the YouTube coverage for the low and high points from yesterday.

I was on the edge of my seat when Juan Martinez was up. I scared DH and my little kittens who were napping next to me (see my avatar) when the 3rd gas purchase came up. I was uncharacteristically whooping and hollering like crazy. I'm on tenterhooks until Wednesday.

Good luck with the Ricki Lake taping. I know you will look gorgeous and will represent your sister well. She would be so proud of you! I know I am.

That is a long article...carve out some time...it's a great read though and tells you what following your gut can lead you to..in that case a piece of evidence that was used to help convict Scott Peterson! Who would have ever thought.

Let me tell you what's brave. Being filmed on TV when you're at the highest weight you've ever been. Anyone have any tips on how to lose 10 pounds by Tuesday? Besides a spray tan? :floorlaugh: Brown fat looks better than white fat! That's what I'm banking on!! lol
