I would feel differently if Casey Anthony had been convicted of a least one major charge.. Just MO

Crimesnooper, the CA verdict was a travesty, understood, as was the OJ verdict. But we have to remember that certain factors that led to those verdicts are not in play here.

There is no social justice backdrop behind this case which might trigger a retaliation verdict (OJ trial), and there is no villainous other party whose own questionable behavior can provide a hat to hang doubt on (GA).

I agree with all prior comments about the strength of this case, the lack of mitigating circumstances, and the overwhelming evidence of premeditation. She is not going home and she is never getting out unless, as Madeline74 noted, it's in a pine box.

I still can't beleive the juror voted the way they did with CA and you are right the circumstances are different.. But you know I just have a feeling that's how it will go. Time will tell.

Good morning!

I was in court all day yesterday and on Dr. Drew with Katie DDJ last night.

I can tell you the jury pays attention to LaViolette but takes very few notes, and when she tells stories about other clients they look a bit bored...almost as if to say what does this have to do with this case?

No clue what the afternoon 10 minute recess was for other than something with the jury. The bailiff came from their holding area and went up to the judge (static noise on), then an officer came from the same place and went up to the judge. Then the judge announced the recess and all attorneys went to chambers. JA went, too, with two officers. Juan came up to talk to the family when they came out and it did not seem to upset them.

Met Beth:great: She is so, so personable and friendly in person. Chatted with her for about 15 minutes about life and the case, just like she'd known you for years. Made me love her even more! She's got some kind of cold or allergies going and was mortified that she may have been caught on camera wiping her nose on Dr. Drew! Talked to her a teeny bit about the hearing this am. Nurmi filed the protective order AFTER Beth inquired as to whether the $800,000 figure quoted includes his and Wilmott's fees for trial days. She says obviously it doesn't and Nurmi doesn't want the public to know how much money has gone straight in his pocket so far.

As far as whether ALV interviewed JA, I swear Beth said she had. When Katie DDJ and I were waiting to go on DD, we heard Christy Paul say ALV hadn't interviewed her and I said to Katie "Didn't Beth say she had?" but Katie thought Beth had said she hadn't, so who knows. I really think, since Juan asked JA on cross about "telling Ms. La Violette" that the kiddie pics were on the computer that she did interview her. Anyway, Beth said she can't testify as to Travis since he's not here to defend himself, but she can use his word in already admitted exhibits (texts, the sex tape...ugh!) to show Jodi was abused by him. Rrrriiiiggghhhtttt! Pretty clear to me, based on ALV's continuum, that Travis was abused by Jodi.

That's my thoughts...happy to answer questions if you have them:seeya:

Thank you so much! If you go back today and talk to Beth, please tell her we all love her. It is going to sicken me if I have to hear LaViolette trash Travis and if she does, I will want JM to rip her apart. Anything else you can say about the jury would be wonderful. What do you think about Jodi's mom and aunt, there to support Jodi or to see her locked away? Knowing her mom went to the NE with those fake pedo letters, I am guessing she supports Jodi one hundred percent. That makes me skeptical of her. Any talk of prosecution witnesses? Cannot wait for rebuttal!! Thanks again.

Thanks for this, KCL..I too am almost convinced this will be a just verdict. The only thing that gives me pause is this point. (bold) Seems the higher the profile, the more everyone walks on eggshells for the defendant. I live in FL, very close to the home of the infamous Pinellas County jury. CA was in my hometown recently for a bankruptcy hearing, and I still can't believe she's not in prison. grrrrr!!
Anyway, we all pray you're right so this family can claim justice for their brother. The day they announce "guilty" will be a good day. Looking forward to the day the siblings get to address her in court. Another good day. (sad, but good..)

I honestly can not live life thinking that in some way jury selection picked another group of people who do not care about the trial they are on. Their questions shows they are very into this case IMO.

Slightly off topic I was not sure how I would like the jurors being allowed to question like they can. Very well thought out questions... well most, some questions had me scratching my head leading me to believe their is a smart backside on the jury ( Not that I have a problem with that. I just know those types very well. My husband and 5 yr old. Need to think before you say anything around these goof balls or they will get you when you are not expecting it.) . I really like it, after all they are the ones making the decision. It also shows these ladies and gentlemen are paying attention. I sure hope I'm not proven wrong again. If some how a jury of ding dongs were picked again then we need to change the way court is held. Need some kind of test to prove you are intelligent enough to realize there is a victim who needs justice.

I should probably just put this in my signature...THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU GUYS---YOU ARE ALL INCREDIBLE PEOPLE. I'm just in awe of the things you do every day!

My question for you guys is do you see Judge SS becoming frustrated with the DT dragging this out or is she just allowing the trial to take its own course? Thanks....

Good morning!

Snipped: I was in court all day yesterday and on Dr. Drew with Katie DDJ last night.

Hi, saw you last night on Dr. Drew, you were great! Question: you said JA looked much smaller and more frail in person than on TV. Did you see her watching/ studying the jury from where you sat? Yesterday whenever the camera caught her, she looked in turns bored (elbow on face) and sad.

Also, someone said there is tension between TA's and JA's families because they have to all use one elevator and can't avoid each other. Did you notice anything like that?

I don't know all the players in court, but a lady behind TA's family was wearing a ribbon. Is she a member of the family too?

Attachment 31232

I always wonder who that sweet lady is too...

In Att. 31231, the lady is JA's mom's tuin sister. I do not know the lady in the second att. 31232. But notice the youngest sister (in front on the right). It's amazing to me how much she looks like her brother, TA; uncanny.

You did great! Absolutely articulate and adorable! I noted the new guest had 3 children, but now we know they are sons! Tell you hubby thanks for letting you attend!

Was anyone removed from the court - or did you hear any buzz about death threats?
Was aunties ribbon purple - I couldn't tell from my computer!
:seeya:

I would feel differently if Casey Anthony had been convicted of a least one major charge..having said that..I honestly think JA will be convicted of second degree murder. When you read other threads and listen to some of the talking heads, there is real concern that JM has not handled this case well. That he went off point too often for things that really did not speak to what will get her convicted. I realize that with Az law and allowing the jurors to ask Qs, that this trial has gone on too long and that's part of the problem. I feel the judge should have maintained better control from both sides. I do feel that at least one juror will not dismiss Dr. Samual's conclusions complelty and the texts/tapes of TA will convince at least one juror that he was no saint...therefore I see a "compromise" verdict. Just MO

This comment is interesting crimesnooper, as it appears to be opposite to your previous opinion that negates a one juror enabling a 'compromise verdict':

"I think JA became enraged after all that "afternoon delight" he still would not cancel his plans with another woman to go on vacation."

This gave her motivation and the follow through to kill Travis to eliminate her rival female having him. This fact will also eliminate a 2nd degree conviction ma'am, IMO.

Don't know if you all have seen this, but looks like rebuttal is going to be fireworks, and great days to attend court!!! Can't wait to see the parade coming in against JA!!!

From the court records (bbm):

3/26/2013

LOW - List Of Witnesses/Exhibit/Evidence - Party (001)

3/26/2013

NOTE: STATE'S FIFTEENTH SUPPLEMENTAL LIST OF WITNESSES

ETA: And note that the list was just submitted yesterday - so I wonder if something Laviolette said is something JM can refute with other witnesses??

I don't know how true it is (I hope they verified where the statement came from), but a few days ago, Mike Gallanos said on HLN that he received a written statement from the head of PPL stating that the trip to Cancun was actually booked in Travis and JODI's names - not Travis and Mimi.

Thank you so much for your insight :) Had no idea DD had a WS'er on last night, you were awesome!
The break was because Jodi became faint and needed an energy bar ...

BBM

Seriously? She was in court the whole time, except when they went back to chambers, so I don't know about that...

No on the death threats. We heard nothing about that in the courthouse. The DT was NOT escorted out of court by security. That's just not true.

Yes on the ribbons. They're purple and I'm told (learned this at HH) that they're for domestic violence awareness for Jodi. Gag me with a freakin' spoon...:furious:

Hey there! Hard to say what JA does since you can only see the back of her head. She looked at LV sometimes from what I could tell and doodled or drew sometimes...it's weird, you almost forget she's there! She wasn't watching the jury expect for when they went in and out, and they do NOT look at her. Not at all. None. Never. Seriously.

Tension...IDK. They do NOT share an elevator. There's six elevators on the floor, so that's not true. Family stayed in the room attached to the courtroom, JA's family milled around in the hall with everyone else. I did feel some empathy for them, seeing them in person. I have not been a fan of some of their courtroom behavior, but I simply can't imagine the position they're in, especially with next to no one in court supporting JA (in the gallery I mean). You can tell they know no one supports them...

I do have some more notes on the jury...will post them in a bit! More on JA's mom, too...but see the post above this. I feel sorry for her.

That's my understanding and WS was abuzz about it last night.
It was on news, HLN ( JVM) and Insession tweeted it last night. She was apparently taken into chambers at one point to be given an energy bar.

In Session @InSession
Sources say one of todays court breaks was due to #JodiArias feeling faint. Her attorneys worked with the court to get her a protein bar.

So now being fed lunch (and breakfast & dinner) isn't enough anymore? Maybe she's on a hunger strike & that's why she's looking so gaunt and bony these days. :twocents:

I suspect she feels faint because she is realizing that the jury doesn't buy her story(ies) and that her goose is cooked (or will be in 12 years after all the appeals!)

mirroring Samuels? ;)

I'm mocking Arias' sociopathy here and her constant manipulations to garner sympathy. I've been limping for years due to nerve damage...

Jailhouse bling -- her ankle bracelet! Ain't it a shame?!

:liar: ..... :behindbar .... :bling:

I'm positive this is a ploy for attention since it has not been on her or about her for going on 2 days now...she HAS to be the center of attention.
