Donaman is probably just taking notes & trying to get co-author status on the book Hodi THINKS she's going to get rich off of some day....SO NASTY I can't stand to look at her...

and JA isn't convicted yet, so even IF Donoman's probation/parole does not allow for eating at the Y of felons.....it doesn't apply here. YET.

I think Chris Hughes has a high position at Pre-Paid Legal. If my memory is correct, he was Travis's mentor. Chris and Skye were friends of Travis. I missed Thursday's testimony. Did the e-mails have anything to do with physical violence or just verbal abuse? I do think that Travis took as much as he could stand with Jodi's behavior, and then he lashed out by yelling at her. Jodi was way too clingy. Jodi did mention getting bruises from something Travis did when she was talking to the female detective near Yreka. She also told the story about Travis buying a triple-decker hamburger for a person who was standing on the side of the road. During the trial, I thought she said it was a man; in the interrogation tape, she said it was a woman. She also mentioned him buying 7 cheeseburgers for three hungry dogs.

ALV is coming across as if she is doing group therapy, to me. JMO

I expect her to say "one time at Band Camp" when she's on the stand. I don't know how the jurors can stand to listen to her. I'd rather listen to RS than her and that is saying something. :)

I have had a plan in my mind for the last few weeks - it is silly but it goes like this:

Trial for Dieting (think series of youtube instructions)

Each time jodi touches her glasses (10 side bends on the side touched on the glasses - oh wait, like this: :seeya: but bend more! LOL)
Each time you see the eraser move - do the twist!
Each dead stare - zombi look - take a drink of water and try not to spit it out laughing.

Each time Nurmi talks: walk in slow motion in place (get those knees up for bonus points)

Each time Wilmont talks - toe lifts (strengthen calfs!) The faster she talks in tippy toe voice the faster you do toe rises!

Each time Juan is up - cross punching strokes. (Think ROCKY!) Rest for 5 seconds if he says, yes or no, rest for 30 seconds and get a piece of fruit if he says, "Do you have problems with your memory"

Sidebars - jumping jacks the entire time (remember, the goal is to loose weight and keep up with the trial!)

Specific exercises to be designated for each witness.
For AL: Each time she says, I had a patient --- deep knee bends till she is done
Each time she says: For example - do 4 example push-ups!

Well you get the idea - but I am not motivated (IE: BRAVE!) enough to video myself doing the lesson! Now, if I actually did this - I might be so much more smoke-in' hott -- that I would not care being on youtube! LMAOROF :floorlaugh:

I gained 8 lbs since the trial started. :what:
Of course these eating holidays (Valentine candy, St. Pat's Corned beef & Irish soda bread & all the Easter goodies) don't help. Does rocking in my office chair count as exercise? :floorlaugh:

MK started irking me when he was tweeting all that hate for Juan during cross examination of the murderer. KCL said she knows him and he was burned out, which given the snails pace of the trial I could understand. THEN that article he wrote recently with all the bs in it about DT leaving with security and large rock star crowds for JM...none of which I experienced when I was there...pretty much tipped the scales on him for me. He needs to put his Twitter down and go home. The public deserves accurate, unbiased information, IMO.

Oh, and he definitely has a perma-scowl on his face. Lighten up, MK. I would LOVE for someone to pay me to watch this trial. Sheesh.

Great post!
I've been down there maybe 10 times and that was the only time I've Juan go out the front door.

I also think Juan was kind of ambushed by the cameras when he exited the courthouse. He looked surprised and was nice to everyone. He didn't act like a "rockstar" and he didn't stay very long for photos. I think four or five people got photos with him. Probably Keifer's crew since the video showed up in his article on AZ Central dot com.

If he keeps it up I'm going to write and complain to the editor. Just give unbiased news and move on. We want information on the trial, not his opinion. If we did we'd look for him on the op-ed page.

Hi everyone,

I signed up a while back to get on here but it has been so hectic and honestly I needed to learn the ''ropes" of everything. I just wanted to say, thanks for the support after yesterday. I'm fine just disappointed how low one can go.....We must remain focused on justice for Travis and his beautiful family.....Bless their hearts for all they have endured...

Have a wonderful weekend, Happy EasTer to all...

Katie (DDJ) :seeya:

Have a great weekend and Happy Easter to you too!
See ya' next week.

Did I read somewhere that she stole an engagement ring from Travis?

Is that true? Anyone know for sure?

TY

There is a story floating around that Travis had purchased an engagement ring for a girl he was dating and it didn't work out, so the ring wasn't given.

There is no sign of the ring, so who knows if it is true. If it is, then he either returned it, sold it, or ja stole it.

You know, here's the thing, as I see it.

If Nurmi is so dad-gum concerned about jurors being adversely affected - meaning, developing a bias for or against one of the lawyers - he ought to look at his own 'house' first and foremost.

To use a phrase he has used in this trial before, this latest thing is a stunt, a stunt Nurmi himself is pulling. It's obvious he's worried about how the trial is progressing and this is an obvious straw grasp.

Nurmi ought to take a good, hard look at himself and his team and the corresponding players:

Nurmi is a large man, which in and of itself is neither here nor there. But his courtroom presence is off-putting. He lumbers. He slouches at the defense table and has been seen on camera picking his nose numerous times. If I want to get personal, I can say his clothing choices are sub-optimal; ill-fitting suits are unbecoming and unprofessional. Nurmi, you can afford a tailor.

His manner of speaking is irritating to listen to. Both he and his co-counsel would truly benefit from a voice coach.

His co-counsel JW comes across both as a giggly and petulant child who whines when she doesn't get her way.

They have not done JA any favors by encouraging her to develop an obviously intentional dowdy, 'waif-like' appearance. The jurors aren't stupid and know that's not what she looked like at any time in her life prior to her trial for murder. They've seen pics of her before. The dramatic change in her appearance smacks of being deliberate and deceptive and IMO, isn't lost on the jury.

Their mitigation specialist more often than not comes to court looking like she's dressed for a night on the town (or is just rolling in after a night on the town) - low necklines, long dangling earrings. She has been seen at the defense table laughing and talking with JW and the defendant.

Members of defendant's family is in attendance very day and are often observed yukking it up amongst themselves. Disrespectful, and does nothing to help garner sympathy for the defendant.

In contrast, we have the prosecutor and lead detective who quietly sit at attention at their table. They are both conservatively dressed. They look and act like serious professionals.

The victim's family exhibits extraordinary control whilst sitting through extraordinarily gruesome and heart-wrenching testimony. Their demeanor demonstrates respect for the court.

Someone should clue Nurmi in that jealousy is very unbecoming. Clean your own house!

/two cents from an exasperated old broad who has been seated four times as a juror in criminal trials

Very well said. It's almost subliminally an attempt to get her convicted with the maximum penalty. Which is A-OK with me.

ALV said she spent over 60 hours with JA (I think the number was 66), so that times $250 an hour, and you have $17,000 or more. Plus the time spent reviewing records, which I will bet goes into the hundreds, considering the "plethera" of records, interviews, reports, et cetera. So add that in, plus her testimony, I am guessing this expert has made over $70,000 so far. But I have a feeling we are going to find out.

Doesn't Arizona/Maricopa have set limits on what they'll pay a public defender per case as well as expert testimony paid for by taxpayers?
Plus the way the DT drones on with all this testimony, is there such a thing as defense misconduct? A lot of it looks like just plain stalling.
This trial is being watched not just in all 50 states, but around the world. I hate to say it, but AZ gets more then it's share of bad press.
The accountant in my family was able to find on the internet that Iowa and Ohio have set limits for public defenders. One was $18,000 and the other $78,000, or something near that, but nothing in the millions. What's going on down there?

I see there are a lot of comments about JA Mother/Aunt a few pages back. I completely lost any respect for them the day they chose to wear their ribbons because of spite, they are shameful to say the least.

It made me think of a book a read decades ago, one the best bio's written from a Mother of a psycho. If any of you are interested I highly recommend reading it to get a honest firsthand view from a mother, who lived this life. the name is-

"And I don't want to live this life anymore." Author: Deborah Spungen

She is the mother of Nancy - Sid vicious wife. She was not surprised by her daughters demise, nor did she cover up her relief or sadness of her death.

:seeya:

I agree 1000% with what you've said above......It's what I've been thinking but am too lazy to type... (10.5 into a 12 hour shift lol)... I'm not saying I don't occasionally want to punch them both in their circular voice ports for some of the disrespectful faces they make... Simply saying that I CANNOT imagine being in that position or EVER turning my back on my son. Being a mother is a disease
:(

Disease as defined: Disease - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In humans, "disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes pain, dysfunction, distress, social problems, or death to the person afflicted,

Being a Mother isn't a disease. It's a love that comes with responsibilities to teach their child Love, Compassion, Gratitude, Kindness, Respect, Courage, Strength and Accountability. I can't imagine what it would be like to have my child who could be so selfish and evil that he/she is capable of murdering another human.

As for turning my back on my child I suppose it depends on what one considers as turning their back. Regardless, it doesn't justify the way Sandy and the others supporting Jodi have behaved in that courtroom. I really wish people would stop finding excuses to defend how disrespectful all of them have been to both Travis's family and the prosecutor Mr. Martinez.

I have found that I can love my children dearly, even when I don't like them. (If that makes sense.)

Katie (DDJ) :seeya:

Well Hi Katie DDj! Welcome! We are so happy to have you. I was so glad you had the courage to stand up for your rights and justice and let others know JM didn't do anything wrong and that neither you, nor the Kane lady, are groupies! I was really proud of you. Please keep posting and best wishes for your career. After this is all over I have said that I hope the jury will stand up and applaud Mr. Martinez. I only wish I could be there to shake his hand.

As far as how low the defense can go, I don't know. I have been saying this since JA was on the stand. But sure enough, they keep sinking!
Happy Easter! :seeya:

IF we ever know for sure, beyond what the learned ME said, that JA DID in fact inflict the stabs wounds first, it would have to mean she was ALWAYS lying.. from the very beginning... thinking and planing, planting all the lies..... and I for one believe she did and does. ANYONE, anyone at all, attorney or other who believes one tiny thing she says is pretty stupid. The evidence that she lies about anything and everything is overwhelming. With JA, there is absolutely NO SUCH THING as benefit of the doubt... not about a single thing. Not even bringing up the artful manipulation! IMHO and wheew that feels soo much better.:great:

I have always believed stab wound to chest came first. I think gun shot was the last spiteful thing she did. Well, actually, there were a lot of spiteful things she did after his death, like the voicemail for instance. But I do believe she shot him for the heck of it. Mean and spiteful.

Hi Katie!
Thanks for being a ray of sunshine during the stress of this trial. Keep up the great work--you know you're doing something right if Nurmi & Jodi don't like it!!

While I'm super jealous you got to meet Juan Maritnez, I think you're a beautiful girl inside & out. Stay strong!:rocker:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Yes. I am tired of the folksy anecdotes. Would it be too much to ask if she use some of the mega$$$$ she was paid for doing nothing to purchase a professional-looking dress or blouse? :twocents:

I keep expecting to see her plastered down hair spikes to just pop up anytime. That would be so funny especially considering her spikey testimony. jmo

Heads up- I asked in the legal thread if , since JA was called in the defense case, she can be recalled for anything in the rebuttal and Azlawyer answered "sure!". Interesting huh?
