a view from the inside: observations from our own court observers #8

I posted earlier today that ALV should have to repay the taxpayer money she will get. Such a shame that we threw that much money to her.

Wong is IMO going to testify in the mistrial hearing, and that definitely will not be done in front of the jury. ALV might testify in that hearing too--but I got the distinct feeling from the judge that her "issue" was something separate.

From the statement of the judge, it did sound like two separate issues being addressed. She even said something about alv knowing what it was about.

As reported to me: FYI Laviolette, DelaRosa and Willmott waltzed in to the Palomar for dinner last night. Of all the restaurants near the court, they go to the one where ALL the media stay and where we go for our Happy Hours after court.

I call that BAITING.

Did they smuggle Jodi, their BFF, in with them? :giggle:

AZ what would you think if you were crossing an expert witness if they said to you that if you were in their group they would put you in a time out in open court?

That's a tough one. I don't like to ask the judge to admonish the witness, because it makes you look like you can't handle the witness yourself. ;)

I think I would try to get her to confirm that she thinks that the cross-examination is abusive. And then summarize--OK, let's go through the kinds of things you classify as abusive... being asked tough questions (OBJECTION! lol)... dating other people after you break up ... strongly objecting to stalking ... not returning texts promptly...

Why shouldn't they go there? I can understand it would be insenstive if TA's family was known to go there.. but the media and the court osbservors? So what?

It is interesting that these members of the Defense Team would choose to visit a restaurant where the media is known to visit...

since the Defense Team has made it clear they feel JM's pictures in the media should create a mistrial...

Hmmmmm... :waitasec:

That's completely different from impeachment. Impeachment is just successful cross-examination. Perjury is lying under oath. And NEITHER one would result in a separate hearing during the case.

Glad we have you here AZlawer to help keep us straight:rocker::rocker:

Here is my prediction, and Jodi is already starting to plot it: When this whole thing is done and she is convicted, she is going to throw Samuels and ALV under the bus. She is going to come up with a fourth story ( Maybe Insanity) and tell the world the truth. That these experts came to her, told her to change her story from the Ninjas to being the Victim, and gave her the material to try to perfect her story. She will totally ruin their career and won't care because she knows that they used her for their own benefit. And of course, Nurmi and JW are going down too because she will expose them also, and Samuels and ALV won't even see it coming.

But I tell you, I can see it in her face, she is already plotting her next move.

O/T : I have a p/t laptop repair business...it has been booming for the last 3 weeks . Lots of "overheating"... fan failures. 85% of these crashed laptops seem to be WS'ers or otherwise following this trial! I encourage everyone using a laptop to get some "canned air" and clean out the vents on the bottom/sides of your laptops. Whatever you do, don't block these vents...overheating causes the Graphics Processing Chip (GPU) chip to blow out = Black Screen.

Canned air is your laptop's friend. Sorry for the O/T

It's also very handy to make your cats back off when you are trying to eat, etc. They HATE the way it hisses at them!

I am thinking that if the DR put him on a medication for the cough that could make him drowsy he might feel like he cannot fullfill his obligation as a juror...just want to make sure you know this is just my opinion!

I really have no idea about the illness Poquito is experiencing...

but I have heard there is a rise in reportings of Valley Fever...

My BIL caught Valley Fever... And it caused the doctors to remove part of his lung...

He still has some after effects... (Coughing, etc.)... And this was a few years ago...

Just some thoughts...

And.... hoping Poquito heals as quickly as possible... He has certainly been a trooper on this jury!

:please:

If this has to do with ALV's stress, why would she seem to be dragging her heels about appearing next week? The judge had to admonish her about her personal issues when it came to deciding which day. This whole thing is so intriguing... we're all going to be speculating until Monday :seeya:

Is it Monday yet?? Is it Monday yet? Is it Monday yet??:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I can see that, she's a sociopath that will destroy anyone that gets in her way or doesn't give her what she wants. Wait till Mama JW stops visiting or paying attention to her after the verdict.

Hi all...gonna start my yesterday's notes now but wanted to get something out of my head.

Ya know how people are saying "these are not necessarily reflective opinions/questions of ALL the jurors so still could be dissension". To that I say this.

If you were someone who held an opposite opinion and listened to those questions all day yesterday. And if you knew your question could be totally anonymous even to your fellow jurors. And you felt opposite of the "vibe" coming thru in those questions and wanted to assert your concern/opinion/voice/question, don't you think TODAY would have been the day you'd do so and offer a question which would reflect your opposing concerns?

Now this makes sense in my own head but hope it does on the outside too. ;)

I just don't think ANY of these jurors are in dissension of the opinions/questions we saw today.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

They will convict her and they will sentence her to death.

Notes from Thurs April (whatever the date was):

Start off the day w/ Valerie telling all of us in the family/media section we can no longer bring coffee or other drinks other than bottled water in to the courtroom. Apparently people have been pigs and leaving their trash behind so...no more. She said something though that really made me want to LMAO but I held my straight face (those who know me know how hard that is for me). She said, when telling us what we couldn't bring in, "anything pertaining to a straw". I loved that line so much I wrote it down. :floorlaugh: It still makes me laugh.

JA just taken back after the family..she's walking super fast in her baggy black too long man looking pants and clunky ugly black shoes.

When they emerged from chambers, Hallie and Sam were smiling/ JA, ALV and DT somber.

JW over there close talking with JA.

Aahhhhh I remembered my glasses, I can see!

Security guard looking at JA today taking notes in a small notepad regularly. First I've seen that. He's sitting by the jury door.

I know this was directed to AZ Lawyer but I thought I'd pass on what was discussed on other thread: the mistrial motion from last week regarding prosecutorial misconduct and witness intimidation is still open; Grace Wong of HLN has been told to be on court Monday; she may have info about the "cane signing" nonsense. The stress ALV has undergone is referenced in the motion, so maybe they want her testimony too?

Someone said that it was reported that the testimony is to be in front of the jury, but I think that might not be correct. If this mistrial motion requires conversations with ALV and Wong, they would still have to be under oath and a court reporter would need to be taking their "testimony," but not in front of a jury.

Could this be correct, AZL?

FWIW... My notes say...

Ms. Wong to be in court with her attorney at 11:00 a.m. On Monday...

Jury Reporting at 1:30: p.m. On Monday...

Please correct me if I am incorrect, fellow Sleuthers... :seeya:

Will it be in front of the camera? or do we tune in at jury time? TIA.

By the way during the long pause before court started JM sauntered over to the family section, smiled and I asked him if he ate those M&M's. He smiled and said "no they are still there, I love them". He had such a sweet smile when he said it. I wish you all could have seen it.

ALV takes the stand-she looks weary looking anywhere but at Travis' family. My sense is she really considers herself "an innocent victim" and having done "a good deed" here.

Does that place him as a victim?

"No, it does not"--turns to jury. Not one takes a note on that.

I see no note taking at all.

Already a question in the basket beginning of day.

5 pack on the back sit back chins set.

Neil grooms his mustache.

PAUL, CEO, HW taking notes on "I made a mistake'

No note taking on Bianca explanation.

3 of 5 of the 5-pack hands covering mouth.

Judge SS said they would be there at 9:30a on Monday BUT I have no idea if the cameras will be on for whatever they are addressing.
