A view from the inside: observations from our own court observers

I think it's so cool that you guys are able to attend this trial, though I am just a little jealous that you get to see Juan perform live and in person. Btw, does he knows about the "Juanettes", or, is that kind of a trade secret, just curious, lol.

No, he doesn't know about the Juanettes. :) I don't think I'd have the nerve to tell him. I'd feel like a stalker. LOL!

PASA and her husband are both awesome! I didn't want to walk back to my car alone from the happy hour, so she offered to walk with me. Her husband picked her up from the parking lot and they made sure I got to my car before leaving. :) Thank you again for that!! :seeya:

You're very welcome. :)

It's certainly not JA's fault!!! Nothing is in her world! I bet her memory will perk right back up on redirect though!

Her selective amnesia will be miraculously cured on redirect. :)

A couple of comments about today...I too felt so badly for the siblings, they panned to them right after the 48 hours with JA talking about how awful it must have been for the siblings to hear about their brother, and the one sister's face just crumpled.
Question: Why does JA look up to answer every single question and then turn and tell the jury, was she coached to do that? And is she aware the Jury is not looking at her? So what is the point?

I also have a theory about something, why TA did not just dump JA beside her ability to use her skills to keep him addicted to her...since he was a "devout" LDS, is it possible (and I do not think JM would know this), that because of the moral code or standard LDS have, JA was emotionally blackmailing him, by telling him that she would tell his family, friends, and especially ward members of their sexual relationship, thereby ruining his reputation etc within the church. All his friends seem to be a bit shocked and unbelieving of their sexual behavior when they found out, however, that part of this story has evidence to show it was true, he was living a double life style..I totally think she would do that, thus the pictures she kept as evidence etc.

I would like to know how the jury responds to the Defense and Prosecutor, is there a difference?

ie Do they like one more than the other?

IIRC there wasn't as much note-taking when Nurmi was leading her through
her abuse scenario. I only saw about an hour of it, so may not be a good representation.

BBM

Me too! Especially after today with Martinez hanging off the podium and Nurmi objecting with his finger up his nose. Not to mention Jodi admitting to a whole slew of things. I also noticed a lot of movement in the Gallery at one time. It seemed like a huge fuss. Would love to know what that was about as well.

I didn't see the morning session.

I'll go through my notes tomorrow and post.

Do you recall what time the movement in the gallery took place? There wasn't anything out of the ordinary while I was there.

Does she have 2 gray hairs in her bangs?

Oh, yes! I'm so glad you noticed too...she also has a few in the back...

(I'm sorry... I don't usually pick someone apart and point out all their flaws but with someone like Jodi I can't help myself! Lol!)

I'll be happy to post the photos "Juan" took of the group with my phone. I wasn't sure if it was allowed here.

Here we are. :)

Wow you guys, such a classy group. You all look so professional!!

I wish I could go up for a day. I'm only 8 hours away but it is so hard! And I am actually going to be there for the second weekend in March but only for the weekend!!!!

It's not easy. The gallery was told again not to talk while sidebars are going on. Frigga and I started writing notes to one another. Plus, we were right behind the defendants family. We were all told yesterday, before going into the courtroom not to comment as it's their child on the stand etc.
So I respect and do what I'm told so I can continue to attend.

Yesterday someone was kicked out for having either a phone or a tablet.
After I've had some sleep I will check my notes and post.

I am now most worried about juror 16, Maureen. Did you observe her to be looking at jodi? Thanks!!!!!

This is what I think too... especially since I think she is a narcissistic sociopath...when I heard the sex tape/phone call I started thinking that she had been fabricating "evidence" to destroy Travis...

I think this blackmail and fabricated character assassination also plays into the premeditation aspects of this case. I think when she moved back to Yreka is when she started planning the murder....now if we could only find a way to prove this...

First I apologize for so many posts. I didn't realize there would be this many to respond to.
Figuring out the multi-quote.

Hi Pasa..

I was DT Phx tonight but didn't know where roof top spot was or I'd stopped by!

So was any WS's in court during the G'Whizz comments?? I'm dying to know what jury reaction was like!!!

I don't think any of the WSers went out for happy hour tonight. Frigga was driving back to California, KatieCooLady stayed home today, and I left as soon as court recessed.

I didn't see much of a reaction from the jury when she mentioned j&$zz . After the evidence the jury has viewed and testimony they've heard I doubt they're surprised by much in the trial at this point. They were taking notes and Juan didn't miss a beat.

Totally agree, and she offers nothing. She takes up time that could be better spent listening to someone who knew what they talking about. I really don't care for Dr. Drew's show anymore and feel he is completely out of his league discussing this trial. He interrupts (rude) and adding a co-host is too time-consuming. Not enough time spent on some of the guests.

His show is take or leave for me. I watch for the guests, and would like to hear more of what they had to say rather than the so called co-host.

Awwe, I feel like a proud mama! As an older woman & not that involved in 'social media', it's really exciting to see & recognize so many awesome, very savvy fellow web :websleuther:'ers! I love being part of this wonderful web site & learn SO much from all of you! TY so much for all of your efforts & keeping us posted! I want all of you to have a great, safe time at your new hangout with your boyfriend bar tender & get back to us!! (Still waiting for the coin toss to find out what brave, clever one of you is gonna get tossed in the pokey for an exclusive o/n with Jodi! Just make sure her lunch utensils are made of plastic!! :jail: I just love ya'll, :yourock:

Thank you for your kind words. I'm older too, but age is a state of mind. :)

I couldn't see the family's faces from where I sat.

I'm guessing she's been coached to look at the jury when answering questions. It's hard to see her expressions from the gallery. But on TV it appears when she looks at the jury she doesn't really see them. She's blank, if that makes sense. She's looking in their direction but not seeing.

When the jury leaves she does look at each juror as if she's sizing them up, it's weird, to me. MOO
They do not look at her as they leave the jury box.

I have wondered that as well. Was she planning to use the phone sex recording and photos as a threat to ruin him if he left her. It is a possibility. I don't think she was blackmailing him for $$.

bbm: that means that whatever was discussed in chambers was not the issue about lunch!

Or it could mean that he needed to get it on the record in court--I'm not sure if there's a court reporter in chambers. Does anyone know?

I am a court reporter and there is always a court reporter in chambers when there is discussion between the parties, at least here in NY

I can't wait til' next week when the current co-host will be gone. She is awful, just awful.
I watch his show for the guests.
For me too.. she interrupts REAL guests too much. She seems to think she/her comments are more interesting.

is there a link to trial days and times? I have decided to put in for a Thursday off to go up there but I don't want to pick a Thursday and it turns out its a dark day lol

Could it be that the lunch/migraine was discussed in chambers, but they brought it up again so it would be in the court records for appeal situations?

One of the attorneys, I think it was Minor4th, answered this in the discussion thread. She said the judge dismissed court early and said she was supposed to be getting lunches, so she would look into it. Minor4th said it wouldn't be an appeal argument because the judge addressed it as soon as they told her about it.

That is good news - thanks!!

HUGE SNIP to accent this point!

............tell your husband
I think he's an absolute SWEETHEART for giving his seat to Frigga. How nice was that?

NICE ENOUGH FOR SOME Morning coffee art!

For selflessness and being a true gentleman!

(The fine print: The heretofore fortune cookie represents no contractual obligation upon the aforementioned Mrs. Pasa and as such can not be used in litigation as a basis of fraud nor does it represent any implied or express contract! IE: Good luck with that! LOL)

I love that award! haha Now PASA's husband is going to start having his own fan club. I love it (not sure if PASA does though ;) ).

Ok so after my day of rest and a B 12 shot, my thyroid med and a couple of hot baths I wake up almost back to my normal feisty self and I WILL be headed down to court today.

My Vitamix and I had a conversation this morning and it powered me up a crazy super smoothie so...I'm planning on having a super charged day for court as I think it's gonna be a rough one in there.

I'm running out to my day job all AM in a few min so will post when I can once I get up there. :seeya:

No, he doesn't know about the Juanettes. :) I don't think I'd have the nerve to tell him. I'd feel like a stalker. LOL!

Nah not a STALKER more like a friend in your own mind hee hee
(Wendy Williams says this all the time funny)

:floorlaugh:

Added: We need Mikettes!!
