Hi everyone. This is my first post on this awesome sight. Loving it here. So informative and so nice to see everyone in here getting along. Thank you to all those that are going to court and keeping everyone in the know. Ok, one question for the court observers, Does it look to you like the jury is loving Jaun Martinez as much as I am? He is so patient dealing with this totally frustrating woman it amazes me. I would have one HUGE headache after one hour with Jodi!!!:banghead:

:welcome4:

Quick question...

How is GW (Gypsy Woman) related to the case?

Is she just a Trial Groupie with boundary issues?.....

Or ??????

While I am sure nobody means any harm ... Referring to someone as "Mexican" unless you absolutely know for sure that they were born in Mexico is inappropriate. The correct term would be Hispanic, Latino or Latina.

JFTR and JMO and I also meant no harm in pointing this out. :seeya:

I appreciate your input! In my original post (that went *poof*), I said "Mexican-looking", which I realize is just as bad. Thanks, AZWatcher. Is it too late to edit the original post? :waitasec:

Really, Nurmi objected to Martinez asking a question becuase it was years ago during the "Bobby Years". It's so far back he argued but he went there himself during her testimony!

I also have a problem with the defense attorney constantly shoving his hands down the back of his pants, holding his jacket out like he is modeling every time he approaches and hovers over the bench into the judge's space. I never expected an attorney in a death penalty case to act this way. I mean I've caught this man kicked back, legs up like a kid and his finger up his nose WHILE he is objecting. I know what color his socks are on a daily basis.

I am not saying anything bad about Mr. Nurmi personally but his style, the way he handles himself in court, it's disgraceful. There is a blatant lack of respect but he demands it for himself in detail with these misconduct hearings that he has been repeating and I can imagine will continue as they have before.

I've seen many lawyers sprawled out and acting bored, stifling yawns, even throwing their heads back for extended periods of time with eyes closed. It's for show. Lots do it.

Sorry, I don't mean to clutter up this board, but I wanted to mention this. I think this really depends on the person. I was born in Minnesota and we've (my family and I) always called ourselves Mexican. Technically I'm Chicana, Latina, Hispanic? I don't know...I wouldn't really find any of them offensive.

Unfortunately, I think the killer/defendant is doing pretty good on the stand. She's working the emotional aspect going for 2nd degree, imo. I don't see Juan fazing her that much.
,
It will be interesting to hear from JM, if , he gives interviews after the trial.

She's a hard nut to crack. same demeanor and stamina that she showed during her interview with Detective Flores.

Wonder if she killed in the same unemotional methodical way ?

I didn't think 2nd degree was included in the charges?

Can't wait to read your posts about today's trial - especially if you enter them after Happy Hour!!

Nope, at least not yet. First degree murder and/or Felony murder.

Question for our courtroom observers: is the jury showing any weariness at this cross examination in which it takes 3 or 4 tries to get JA to answer a single question (yes or no)?

Thanks, LM! I am half Mexican and half German. Born in Nebraska. I just refer to people of Mexican or Italian or German descent as BEING that; I suppose I should be more careful.

This might be O/T, but if I put it in regards to this trial, does anyone want to give their Twitter addresses? I'd love to follow you all.

Are there going to be no posts from the observers? I thought that is what this thread was for.
