Indulging myself with a sweet walk down memory lane :)

Phoebe was an interesting character! She really brought it down to where the rubber meets the road when she married Langley, didn't she? :giggle:

So sorry they are canceling these soap operas, I watched "All my Children" since it first started till maybe the 1980's. I moved to Amarillo, Texas at that time and ABC, for some reason, did not carry it there, very strange. Nearly drove me crazy!!

Does anyone know if they have ever tried soaps in Telenovela format here, you know where they last a few months then end, then off to a new one?? I am hooked on these now so that's why I ask??

Wow. I feel like I was just told 40 close friends have a terminal illness with less than + - 6 months to live
Funny GH HELD on remember the Casadines? Luke and Laura, Bobby, Robert Scorpio?
Finola Hughes, EVEN DEMI MOORE? I Was. 13 during that summer. The Casadines were so powerful they controlled the weather???
Frisco and Felicia? The Brownstone? Robin,Lucky Maxie... and Monica? guess they are next. Maybe the soap channel will play old episodes. I saw "Brooke" from AMC on. some Oollldd soap from the 70's she looked 21. A lil part of me will die with my TV friends.2012 will be a lonely place. yay NOT

I remember it all, I go even further back, to Dr. Steve, Audrey, Jesse, Lee Baldwin (scott's dad), David and Leslie Webber, Rick Webber (McGuyver eventually). Hard to remember that far back; it was early 1960s.

I remember watching these shows in 1974 with my maternal grandma.

I have watched them off and on since then. Most recently last year, while I was taking care of my MIL when she was dying of liver cancer. Boy, did she love watching GH. I'm glad it's not on the chopping block yet.

I hope ABC comes to its senses and decides at the last minute to change their mind.

I don't like this one bit!

My brothers actually got me hooked on the soaps waaaaaaay back when The Edge of Night was part of the lineup! When Luke and Laura got married, we were so excited about it, my dad thought they were REAL friends of ours and that we were actually going to the wedding!

Never been a huge lover of OLTL, but All My Children???? :(

I don't watch soaps but I thought you'd find this interesting. Forgive me if it's been posted before; http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/19/hoover-pulls-ads-from-abc-to-save-the-soaps/?hpt=Sbin

Hoover pulls ads from ABC to 'save the soaps'

...And to show that disappointment, the company is also inviting ticked off fans to bombard ABC with emails.

“We’ve set up a special email address, [email protected], to help pull together the mass emotional outpouring of support for our beloved ABC soaps and get it to our contacts at ABC,” Kirkendall continued. “Please, send your emails to us at [email protected], and we’ll get every, single last one of them to ABC.”...

I used to be addicted to AMC and OLTL lol. That was before the internet. Occasionally I will watch them, like 2x a year. Have you ever noticed that you can go a long time not watching them, then you do and it's the same people basically and the same stories??

I'm a huge fan of All My Children and am sick over the news. I even hand painted a huge Christmas village with all the homes and businesses of Pine Valley. My granddaughter who is 5 knows all the characters and plays with the village - her favorite house is Oak Haven, the mental facility, lol. I've watched since the first episode, thank God for the VCR. So sad it's over . . .
