I'm hoping the media is blowing something out of proportion.
It pains me to think they'd be dining like that.

But others, also posting here, have differing opinions. My opinion is that I don't know what they were thinking about, how they were feeling, etc. It'd be impossible for me to know that based on where they stayed and what they ate.
Okay. The Anthony's met with a lawyer, some family members, a couple of nefarious characters who latched onto this case for their own glorification and a producer from an ABC show the day they were informed that the body of a small child was found 1600 feet from their backyard. They had dinner with these people and stayed 2 nights at the Ritz Carlton Orlando.
"A small child's remains have been found in the woods near your house." is followed up by going to dinner with a producer for a national network.
I guess it could all be innocent and just largesse on the part of the network. Yeah. I can see that. It was all totally innocent and circumstantial. The where and the what-they-ate are not important. But as in so many other things, the Anthony family's timing draws the speculation to them. Again it goes down to what others would do in a similar situation, and since few of us can claim to be members of that "club" we again are left to assume that there is something odd with them meeting with a producer after being informed that a small child's remains had been found so close to their home, and that a search warrant was currently being executed in that home.
I'm sure there's an innocent explanation somewhere.![]()
It's not the hotel name or whether they chose steak or fish that's important. It's that they didn't refuse top of the line accomodations the day they got positive confirmation of their granddaughter's death, and that those accomodations were paid for by a major media outlet, possibly in hopes of arranging to profit off Caylee's death to fund the murderer's defense.
Here's the thing I don't understand.
People are upset when the A's are in front of the cameras
People are upset when the A's go in hiding
People are upset when the A's accept interviews
People are upset when the A's don't give interviews
People are upset that the A's are staying in the same house where it is believed Caylee was killed
People are upset that the A's stay at a hotel
People are upset that George stayed at a different hotel when contemplating suicide
People are upset that they do anything.
Yes, I get that people are upset because of the ENTIRE case....I am too. But rather than scrutinizing every little tiny thing this family does or does not do....shouldn't we be caring for our own families?
I doubt that your mom was busy negotiating future deals, she was making a simple press statement, no?
I think the situation with the Anthonys is entirely different.
May I add I am sorry about the horrible tragedy that struck your family.
That's what I was going to ask next! Maybe you ARE psychic. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.
But if that's what people are really upset about, then why are people quoting all these details about the cost of the hotel and cost of meals?
Fair enough. You gave your reasons. Others gave theirs from another POV. They all can co-exist. I don't see what the problem is.
Now, what is your opinion on ABC and the As together?
Because of the slant WFTV put on the article. It was meant to enrage people.
http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2009/02/casey-anthony-case--6.htmlWKMG's Adam Longo explored how ABC had paid for rooms at the expensive Ritz-Carlton for the Anthonys on the day the remains were found. Brad Conway, attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, stressed that the family "never profited" from the situation, Longo said. Conway and the family "have cut out" ABC out to show their displeasure that the network had paid a licensing fee to meter reader Roy Kronk, Longo added. Kronk found Caylee's remains.
Because George and Cindy's actions in accepting top of the line accomodations say to me that they already knew Caylee was dead- it wasn't hide under the covers grief/ I can't eat I'm so distraught, and they were looking to profit from said major news network. That's what I was going to ask next! I'm fine now. LOLWhen has anyone ever been upset when the A's went quiet?!?!?!
However much ABC paid to house and feed the Anthonys for a couple of days, it was apparently in vain.

Cindy's "list" is getting mighty long.
...and the ties to the network?Innocent explanation? Of what? If eating and sleeping is a crime, I'm in big trouble.![]()
It was their spokesperson Michelle B. who made the arrangements, unless you think she was acting completely without their authorization...Like I said before, I think ABC knew that people wanted more information on this, so that's their reasoning. As far as the Anthonys are concerned, I really have no idea.
I have gone back and forth on them. On the one hand, they've made me want to slap them sometimes. On the other hand, I don't think they were involved in Caylee's death, and I think their grief must be incredible. Grief makes people do crazy things, as does greed.
I just don't know what the cost of the hotel has to do with it. I haven't gotten the impression that they demanded it or that they were living it up and having a grand time there.
Many of us have had murdered relatives. They didn't start interviewing my family until 5 days later - after the body, which was on tv for a while, was identified. To quote George, "we belong to an exclusive club".

Guess they were upset that someone else was getting a piece.Bad Cindy, not cooperating with ABC after the paid for her expensive hotel and dinner.
:waitasec:
or why it was all being paid by a media outlet.
