About Darlie and Daren

I followed that case as well. As much as I felt bad for her, she really had it made. How many women would love to have received the settlement she got??????
As I remember it initially was 16,000 a month plus a house and maybe a few more perks - and while I can understand how she considered that a "paltry sum" compared to what Dan was bringing in, it certainly was not chicken feed.

I have a friend in a very similar situation (her husband [I use the term in the broadest sense when I refer to him] is a colonel and pilot in the USAF). She confronted him with proof positive of his affair (only then would he admit it) - he was always telling her how "crazy" she was to even think he was cheating....in any case - the similarity I see is the total and complete loss of "self" in both BB and my friend - living and breathing and doing whatever it took until the husband "made it" and then being cast aside like a used paper plate - very disturbing to see the emotional and physical toll it takes - I wait for the day my gf calls me and says "I finally shot the sonofab****", although she and her hus have chosen "counseling" and an attempt at reconciliation (now, of course he would be amenable to that - otherwise she could take him for quite a bit of $$$ - not to mention the fact that he could lose rank) - anyway, I could go on about that pig for volumes...I'll stop now. :D

Well if your husband is cheating, its best to hire an attorney and not lose your mind and shoot him. Its hard getting money from a dead guy.

Well, I guess we could say at least Betty had enough guts to admit her crime unlike Darlie Routier.

Yeah she admits it but still blames them. She refuses to accept responsibility and she shows not an ounce of remorse for killing two people while they slept. Of course the poor dear is crazy as a loon..prison is the best place for her.

What shocks me is the number of people who believe that Dan and Linda "deserved" what they got. Deserved to be slaughtered in their own beds, unaware, and unable to defend themselves. I spend a lot of time on the aande site and the posters over there are rabid Betty fans. They're worse than the Darlies.

That is terrible. Nobody deserves that.

Believe me when I tell you that I have no doubts that Dan helped drive Betty nuts. I've dealt with attorneys like him for the past 20 years. I've been driven nuts by a few myself and I wasn't even married to them. Having said that, of course, they didn't deserve to be murdered.

I agree Jeana. Everything I have ever read or heard about Betty I think she was "driven" in a sense to madness. I do not think anyone deserves to be gunned down But I can see how she was driven to this in a way.
