About Jacques again...........

It seems to me that the BPD had really checked out the Barnhill's guest-I can't remember the source-maybe it was in Thomas' book. I read it quite a while ago.

I just remember thinking in my mind that he had an alibi. I could be totally wrong????

I think his alibi was that he was ill and went to bed.

No stranger killed JonBenet. That was someone who knew her and knew the Ramseys well. No casual houseguest of the neighbors is going to be that detailed in the RN, know their way around the house that well, and know JB well enough to sit and snack on pineapple with her in the middle of the night. If the Barnhill's guest and the Barnhills themselves didn't have a tight and provable alibi, we wouldn't be idly speculating about them now because they'd have been more of a focus then.

I still think Patsy's behavior with Jacques I, while understandable with wanting to spare her daughter yet another illness or death, sets a pattern that shows Patsy's character as being someone who is comfortable with deception and making excuses she rationalizes into being okay. So much in Patsy's life shows her as being that kind of person - beauty pageants are all about being fake and putting up a facade - that's why they dye and style hair and give girls false teeth to cover up missing baby teeth and dress them up in outrageous barbie fashions. I think she did the same thing with JonBenet's death that she did with Jacques I...the truth wasn't nice enough, so she created an alternate truth for everyone else.

If this was an intruder, why the lawyering up and not going for months to do any interviews? Why insisting to only consent to interviews with certain "hard" questions verboten? Why have they abandoned the search for "the real killer"?

I was watching Family Guy on TBS last night, and John and Patsy Ramsey made an appearance. Peter said something about aiding them in the search and Patsy deferred, and when Peter said something again, JR got insistent that there was no need to search anymore, just let it go. Now I realize that's just a cartoon, but the facts are there. The Ramseys have entirely stopped searching for any killer and want it all to go away. Is that how an innocent parent behaves about their 6 yr old daughter's murder? I don't think so. They know more than they are willing to admit.

I agree with you and...............

I read in DOI that the Ramsey's said they initially didn't take a lie detector
because no one asked them to. Now I ask, if you wanted to be cleared right
away of a crime, wouldn't you pull up your sleeve that day and say, "Let's go?"

Yes, you would. That's what other parents of murdered children have done...as Marc Klaas said - you do whatever you can, help in any way possible, to get the focus off you and on who the killer was.

test and passed, when it became another let's bash the Ramsey's some more issue. They weren't asked in the beginning except in a circumvent way...DA knew they weren't admisible in court. David Dowaliby took one and passed---so they gave him another one, and wanted him to admit he killed his daughter, as a baseline. He became upset and wouldn't say it---and his test was skewed as a result, which they used against him.

Firstly, they REFUSED to take a polygraph.

Then they denied they'd ever been asked to take a polygraph (thanks to jameson selling the police tapes, we later found out that this was another lie and they weren't asked in any circumvent way - they were asked quite plainly "Would you take a polygraph" - JR answer "No, I'd be insulted" - PR answer "Yes, I'll take ten of them"). However .....

Then they refused to take an FBI administered polygraph.

So they found their own private polygrapher but unfortunately, he couldn't give them the results they needed (conclusive pass).

So they shopped around for another polygrapher who WAS able to give them the results they wanted.

meanwhile, jameson put it about that it hadn't been their fault that they hadn't passed the first polygraph - that it had been the result of "polygrapher error". This was later proved to be a lie.

When the Ramseys FINALLY got the results they wanted, they announce to the world that they'd passed polygraphs.

.... but those who are a tad sceptical about the whole thing get accused of "bashing" the Ramseys????
